Great selection of locally produced organic produce plus meat, dairy and artisan bread and cake produce as well as a good supply of basics such as pasta, rice etc. Ideal for provisions during your stay on Mortonhall campsite with the famous Buffalo farm meat and sausages.

Food was good and service on this occasion was good.

Una cálida bienvenida por parte de los anfitriones de este precioso bed and breakfast de Edimburgo. Habitación excepcionalmente limpia y acogedora. Ropa de cama y toallas de muy buena calidad. No hay nada que pueda criticar a Aaron Lodge. Estamos muy contentos de haber encontrado esta "joya" y sin duda no dudaríamos en recomendarla a cualquiera que desee un lugar limpio y cómodo para disfrutar explorando la ciudad. Fab scones, soup, quiche, lasagne, bacon rolls not forgetting the Lemon Drizzle cake plus plus. Real community cafe with lots of fab people.

Edit Oct 2024: Can't order through their site anymore (only through just eat now) and the new menu is rubbish compared to the older one :/ £23 for a large Pizza and a large Kebab. Good value and I like that everything for my Kebab was packed separately. Everything was good, will defo order again.

The steak pie was very good. The cobbled courtyard may be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. There was a draught everytime the door opened. There were quite a few customers with dogs, so if you are allergic to or dislike dogs then this might put you off.

My sister and I are visiting Edinburgh for a week and decided to drop by this beautiful restaurant. The place itself was lovely, and the service was fairly quick, although the drinks were a bit slow to arrive. The waitress who took our order was somewhat unfriendly. I had a gyro, which was nearly impossible to eat and lacked flavor. As we left close to closing time, it felt like the staff were practically trying to kick us out the door.

I've bee coming to tartan tandoori for a number of years, I have never had any issues, food is always hot a lovely and ready for when I want to collect, thw staff are all friendly and it's a busy wee place

Dal Makhani was at the top of the recommended list, so I got curious and ordered it. What arrived was something resembling a soup with chicken bones in it—and no meat. I ended up throwing it away; it was truly a disgusting experience. Definitely do not order from here!

5 star dinner 😀 everyone was lovely and hot, the Yorkshire pudding where giant. Thank you to our wonderful server kirsty-dawn who let us the some Yorkshire puddings home.

When things go well it's very good - plenty of seating outside in the nice weather and there will be plenty space inside when (if?) they get they Saddle Room finished. However, when it is busy things can go downhill. Staff are pleasant but could be better organised and there doesn't seem to be anyone in charge. As a result it can often run out of things including beer and glasses (be prepared to get served in a plastic container if you are sitting outside at busy times). Booking is essential at peak times and the kitchen closes quite early.
