5 star dinner 😀 everyone was lovely and hot, the Yorkshire pudding where giant. Thank you to our wonderful server kirsty-dawn who let us the some Yorkshire puddings home.

The food was delicious but at 7pm on a Saturday night I wouldn't expect them to run out of it! They advertise a choice of 3 meats but by the time we got there, there was only a tiny scraping of turkey left, and no other choices. Hardly any veg options. Had to ask for gravy. The service was slow, and I had to go looking for someone to ask for drinks. We had booked a table but we saw them turning other people away; there were loads of empty tables. Really disappointed as we had been looking forward to going to a Toby Carvery.

Only went in for something to drink to pass time, asked if they served cake that I could have with my coffee,was told no but was offered dessert menu, decided against it and opted for 3 for £5 hot snacks, they were disgusting, never again, they were so greasy and soggy, on looking at the dessert menu on our table I saw there was cake on it, don't know why she said no when I asked. The female that served me could do with a smile on her face too, wasn't welcoming at all. Won't be back

We booked for 6.10pm for a birthday meal and was very disappointed you had ran out of gammon and turkey and Yorkshire pudding the stuffing was dry the gravy had ran out too and the veg wasn’t very warm either sadly very disappointed and we were regular customers

We had a lovely, quiet Sunday lunch. Joan our server was so friendly, funny, made us feel welcome and provided an excellent service. Chris was our carver and he was approachable, friendly and very well presented. We regularly attend this Toby Carvery and this week was especially brilliant. Great food and a great team.

Very upmarket Toby Carvery in a beautiful old building. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. Though it is a bit of a taxi ride out of the center we were glad to go.

Great food served in a nice, friendly environment with fantastic and attentive service from our hostess Anna. Portion sizes were generous and fresh and warm and offered great value for money. Anna our hostess was particularly good with our 2 year old grandaughter

Best Toby Carvery Ive ever experienced…the customer service and hospitality was lovely, the carvery and all the sides were amazing and id like to give a big thank our chef of the evening JAMIE who went above and beyond to ensure we had a great evening…even made sure we went home with plenty leftovers :) x

Walked in for our family meal Friday 5th April at 2pm to be told theres no meat for at least half an hour. Absolute joke. No meat in a Toby carvery. *AVOID Walked straight out!!!!

Very busy, but didn’t have to wait too long. Food was really good. Our server, Emily, was excellent. Kept us up to date about the vegetarian options, and hand-delivered the vegetarian meal to us while we were in the queue for the carvery.

Would just like to thank Anna , Andrew and the staff for making my first visit here so good . they were friendly and very helpful . I have taken a stroke and sometimes find it difficult but they made it so easy for me . Someone how was with me can't speak Anna took the time to help her . Food was great , place was beautiful .

The restaurant was book at 1.00 PM on a Sunday. Upon arrival, we, a party of four adults were greeted by Anna, a staff member efficiently, and with a friendly smile. We proceeded to be seated and ordered our carvery lunches with soft drinks all round. The customer services was first class with distinction; the foods were simply excellent, both in terms of tastes and portion sizes. We settled the bill after two and a quarter hours later and left with complete satisfaction. We will be back again no doubt, and my thanks are to Anna who makes our luncheons that much more enjoyable because she serves us, her customers with gladness.

Natalia was great and very attentive. Absolute credit to the restaurant. Food was great and price was great as there was an offer on.

We have visited the Toby Liberton several times and every time we have been happy with the welcoming staff and great service , our Xmas breakfast with Santa was fantastic all the grandchildren had lots of fun , my husband and I had a chilling breakfast in February it was delicious and definitely going back, if you haven’t already visited this Toby at Liberton it’s a must you have a visit . We enjoyed the option of three ways our eggs could have been served fried porched or scrambled. Happy customer 🤣🤣

Had a lovely Sunday carvery sitting in the bar with our puppy. Staff were really accommodating and looked after the three of us. Lovely lamb and great portion!

Had a lovely visit here recently. Food was lovely and hot, atmosphere was great and staff friendly. Felt very welcomed by the manager who was chatty, bubbly and upbeat the entire time.

Worst Toby in Edinburgh by far, Meat all gristle, visited at 6pm on a Friday and the beef was finished. The veg was so dry as if it had been out from lunch, sounded like the staff were too busy partying through the back music blaring, avoid this one!

Called in Wednesday for Carvery and wished we hadn’t….. One Yorkshire pudding left on its own…. Meat average…. Roast potatoes all stuck together and burnt to a crisp unable to separate them…. …. 3 pieces of Cauliflower in dish dry up inedible altogether…. Macaroni had a crust that was so hard you couldn’t penetrate…..Dauphinoise potatoes stuck to dish and unable to use them …… unbelievable altogether….. when mentioned to staff they just shrugged their shoulders and said they would mention it to kitchen !!!!! Nothing would ever make us go near the place again

Visited here on the 4th of November and the place looks dirty especially outside the kitchen area the carpet is black so cant imagine what the kitchen looks like. There was no hand soap in the toilets and a staff member said that they had run out for a week or so and have been waiting on an order. Absolutely disgusting. What are the staff using never mind the customers. The man who was the manager on for the day Jordan was very rude. He was full of attitude, its unfortunately for the other staff members who tried there best to work with what they have. The carvery area was dirty looking, food cold/look warm. The veg had been out that long it was crusty at the edges and pasta dish. The meat being carved was cut then placed down on the dirty work top before then placed onto our plate. Due to this we decided not to eat here. Too many things just to let go. Its a shame as i heard this place used to be nice, however this is gone down hill massively. This place needs a deep clean and new management.

The value for money cannot be faulted but the stuffing and peas where hard,carrots and mash potatoes luke warm. Cheesy mushroom and chicken bite starters where bland and small. Very little atmosphere, lots of noise from the bar customers, had to ask and look for staff when we needed something and the bill paying was just a mess

We used to come to the toby carvery a lot but won't be back. Selection of vegetables was sparse no onions or parsnips. Who has macaroni cheese with a carvery ???? Potato's burnt to a cinder, all the vegetables were cold as was the turkey. The "famous" carvery gravy was watered down and the only good thing about the meal was the lager. I had heard that the carvery had gone down in quality but up in price but needed to find out for myself. I did.

Meat was good but their vegetables were very dry which made the meal dissapointing On the bright side we were served by a lovely young man who was friendly and polite

Great staff that looked after us very well from start to finish. Meat quality very good. Because veg under heated lamps can be not quite as hot as I would like, but quality and selection good.

Have visited 3 carveries over recent weeks with family - 2 in Edinburgh and 1 in Dundee. Other two I have reviewed with 5 Stars. This falls below the standard set by them. Whilst this was busier ( Sunday ) - I don’t feel it is as clean as other 2 visited. Wait times at carvery were lengthy. The food is good but just not the same overall feel to the place that I have experienced elsewhere.

We booked at party of 22 booking was made by person told they would join tables together. On arrival table was not ready we moved them our self one waitress serving who was new to the job asked her a few times gir glasses to get the drinks which was broken after asking 3 different times eventually the bar man who also said it was his first night gave us drinks. The carvery only had Turkey or Beef there was 3 pots for gravey all of which were empty had to ask twice for gravy Some of us tryed to order dishes from main menus to be told not available this was at 6.30 pm by 8.30 we were being asked to pay bill all carvery had been cleared away staff were wanting tided up. After bring this to the manager’s attention she went outside on her mobile to make a call then came back on and offered us as a good will gesture to take 20% off the bill there was only 3 other tables with people eating so not over bissy we were very disappointed

Went in to a not very busy restaurant, got told they were not taking walk-ins, this is the 2nd time we have been told this, not exactly good for business if you are turning people away
