Maybe the best cheese scones ever! Home baking and homemade meals, soup etc also excellent. All done by voluntary staff, I think, who do a great job.

TBH... This is my favourite cafe in Edinburgh area. Welcoming staff ( volunteers), home cooking, and my favourite, the home baking. Always a good selection of home-baked goodies. Price is reasonable, especially for the quality of food. Pop in, try it out for yourself

Acabamos de mudarnos a la zona y pensé en probar esto. Agradable cafetería con una buena selección de bocadillos rollos y pasteles. Buen personal en una buena ubicación. A un precio razonable.

I was taken to the Kirkgate Cafe by my friends and had lunch. Lovely bowl of soup and bread was served by a team of volunteers.

Just off the main A701 road this very pleasant café offers snacks 9.30am to 2pm on Mondays to Wednesdays. Breakfast is served until 11am. Lunch is served from 12-2pm, there is a hot dish special which is updated on the chalk board everyday. It is also open from 5.30pm to 8.30pm on Tuesdays and from 6pm to 9pm on Wednesdays for coffees, teas, hot chocolate, milkshakes and a selection of cakes and tray bakes. Quality of the food is excellent and it even has free parking available in the adjacent church car park. Café area is luxurious for a café, staff are very pleasant and welcoming and the building has excellent toilet facilities.

I won't lie, I went in because of the pub name (it has an interesting historical background) but the food was absolutely first class. Bangers and mash were on point and the servers were absolutely fantastic. The prices were good, too. 10/10 recomendation.

The selection of whisky is great and the food was alright but felt it was way overpriced for the quality we received. We were also charged £8 twice for one portion of the haggis bon bons (apparently this is some kind of a service charge, ridiculous we had to pay double for one small dish) Seems like a tourist trap to be honest and I don't think we will be back. There are so many better bars with more reasonable prices and better service.

We was on a short trip in Edinburgh and this place was the best to breakfast! So tasty and handmade food and drink.
