Normally, The Happy Palace is a safe pair of hands. That's to say it's either pretty good or unremarkable. Occasionally, though, it has a disaster and the food is far below the usual standard. I don't know if it's a backup chef, or no back up chef, but randomly the Happy Palace is a let down. Those blips are infrequent enough that if I don't want to wait for a delivery and just want to pop in somewhere for a quick single person dinner that I'll pop in. I think those small meals are The Happy Palace's strength too. They also do chips and some Western food. Those alternatives seen pretty popular but I've never tried them. Popping in to The Happy Palace is for pick up only. There's no eat in functionality. The waiting area is big enough for half a dozen people. I wouldn't want to follow a gang of yobs in. Overall, need a quick rice dish or something like that? The Happy Palace will do. [October 24 - Tends to be very swift!]

Not great Order a shashlik and the lamb was burnt and tasted nasty The fish n chips were dripping in oil The garlic mushrooms were greasy and you barely taste the garlic Won’t be trying there again

I'll keep this review simple. Great food, with great company and the staff are great and attentive. The mushroom chilli was amazing . Compliments to the chefs. And compliments to Michelle for picking up on my diary allergy for dessert 😇 . Vegan ice cream was lovely and so was the pear and pistachio tart. I want more of the tart 🤤. Looking forward to coming again , next visit to Edinburgh 🤤.

Last night we ordered and handed over £50 note to pay the £47 bill. Fortunately for us the delivery driver was very honest and informed us that there was actually 2 £50 notes were stuck together.. Also excellent food.

Lovley wee Chinese 🇨🇳. Well british style 😂. It's "cheap" enough and tastes well! I enjoyed my lemon chiken spicy chips! And some freid rice 🍚! One thing though I live in pilton/Granton and it took 1:30minutes to come! I'd say that's a big wait time but fair enough

Bought some food here recently. The fish were ok but the chips were a little bit undercooked, although still edible. Filled a hole but there are better options nearby.

Needs more staff. Often have to wait to be served. Beans were cold, but a quick zap in the microwave fixed it.

The New chefs Very good and fast

Large Cafe with dirty tables and left over food waited 30 mins for my order which was egg on toast hardly something that takes a while too prepare, girl on the till seems to do every job and done her best grossly understaffed, won't be back management need to get this sorted disgraceful.

Great local takeaway. Food always hot and fresh. Had several dishes and always lovely! Delivery guys friendly and fast!
