The best restaurants in Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh and Lothian

Been going to go-gos basically since they opened and I wouldn’t go to anywhere else for my donner meat!! It’s always so good and the staff are all amazing and very friendly and lovely they all like to have a good chat and joke! Would highly recommend! :)

A "hidden gem" in Edinburgh's Newtown with a friendly crowd of all ages. Lovely & beautiful staff are an added bonus. Perfect beats provided by Tribal Funktion DJ, George. I will definitely be back when I'm in that part of town. 👍

Sharing our experience for other diners with dietary requirements. Whilst ordering our food, I spoke to the waiter about my veganism and lactose intolerance and repeated that the dumplings and noodles we ordered should be vegan. I even told him about symptoms I get if I eat dairy. Despite this, we were still served dumplings with milk in, and I ate the whole dish before we were alerted to the mistake. The waiter was obviously mortified and apologetic. We were given the correct dish and the rest of our meal was fine. The dumplings were free, but nothing else was taken off our bill. Afterwards I emailed to explain how serious this kind of mistake is, and how sick I would be in the days following. The owners replied with an apology that was below par considering the pain and discomfort I experienced due to consuming lactose. The free dumplings were a nice gesture but I felt like it wasn’t enough considering the gravity of the mistake. Having worked in hospitality for over a decade myself, I completely understand how easy it is for these accidents to happen, but the way it was resolved by the staff and the owners was very disappointing. Avoid if you have dietary requirements or allergies.

The cookies are just incredible there!! They are crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Really amazing, do not hesitate to take some if you have the occasion.

Siamo stati qui per colazione andando a Dean Village, il locale è molto carino e confortevole, buona scelta sia per una colazione dolce che salata, e soprattutto da italiano devo dire che qui ho bevuto il cappuccino più buono della mia vita: era davvero perfetto! Personale molto gentile, prezzi giusti. Consigliatissimo!

Necesitaba desayuno una mañana y así que vine aquí para encontrar un ambiente encantador con una variedad de personas dentro. Es un poco apretado a veces como es popular pero por una razón. Recomendaría los huevos Benedict. Seguramente volverá aquí.

Just had our first meal in Edinburgh and wow – Pera completely stole our hearts. We got takeout from this adorable little Turkish spot, and it was honestly one of the best meals we’ve had in a while. So full of flavour, fresh, and made with real love. The sweetest part? The owner surprised us with some baklava on the house – such a kind gesture and it was absolutely delicious. It made us feel so welcomed. Even though we just popped in to pick up our food, the place itself is so beautifully done – warm, cozy, and full of character. We’re here for three days, and this meal set the perfect tone for the trip. Can’t wait to go back again before we leave!

Popped in for lunch purely by chance and oh so glad we did. Food was amazing and service very friendly. Only negative was that it was rather cold but there was a fan heater placed by our table. This won’t put us off returning when next in Edinburgh. Highly recommend this restaurant.

En primer lugar, la chica rubia servía era absolutamente encantador y servicial. ¿Fue una mezcla como se le dijo a los bollos que se acaban de hacer y luego se le dijo que no estaban en el horno, sino que 2 se fueron del día anterior. Ya me había sentado ya que el lugar que había planeado encontrarme con mi amigo estaba cerrado y realmente quería un buen bollo. En contra de un mejor juicio, tenía un bollo que la chica amablemente dijo que calentaría. Mi amiga tenía huevos, aguacate y feta que se veía encantador y ella disfrutó. Mi bollo sin embargo sabía rancio y la margarina que sirvieron necesita ser la peor que he probado. ¡Por favor, no sirva los bollos de ayer como consumidor pagando el precio completo! Debido a esto no volvería, lo cual es una pena, ya que es un entorno lo suficientemente agradable y servicial.

Cada vez que visitamos Edimburgo siempre desayunamos / almorzamos en el número 7 (anteriormente Café Class). ¿Por qué? Simplemente, es el mejor desayuno vegano que hemos tomado y es muy consistente. Los precios son muy razonables y el servicio es muy amable y eficiente. Escribo esto el sábado 12 de abril por la noche y espero el desayuno de mañana. 5 minutos a pie por Lothian Road, ¡valdrá la pena caminar! : ) )
