CAFE CLASS in Edinburgh, City of

Once again we have had a superb breakfast here. I had the veggie option and my husband the full Scottish. It’s refreshing that when we ask for our eggs to be well done the staff actually listen and they are cooked to our liking. The smoothies are also superb.

I’ve been to this cafe many times now but today I tried their goats cheese& sweet potato salad and WOW! It is so tasty!The ginger girl who works there always so friendly and polite.Keep up the great work and can’t wait to come back for more fantastic food!

Waited and did not get served. People had been served before before us. It’s a great cafe but it lets itself down with slow service

A family treat- we have just devoured the most amazing cakes, each with their own individual recipes but all bursting with flavour. Whoever makes these cakes is one of the best in their profession. The caramel and salt brownie is not only gluten-free ( we have a gluten-free child) but that's only an added bonus, the taste is something else. The staff are lovely too. You must try it. I will...tomorrow, first thing before they are sold out! I'll travel out of my way for it.

I tried Seven for breakfast a few weeks back and left satisfied. The breakfast itself was tasty, the only thing I could say negative about it is I wish maybe it was a wee bit bigger! Everything was lovely though, however the addition of black pudding, tattie scone and beans would’ve made it perfect.The lady who served us was really on the ball given how busy it was and she was really welcoming.Definitely recommend trying Seven! I’d like to go back and try other things on the menu for sure.

My favourite place for coffee! Friendly staff who serve the best oat milk cappucino in the town. Nice, fresh food and amazing cakes!

A lovely, little place with great coffee and food. We were 4 people and had a great brunch. Try the very tasteful Buddha Bowl or the yummy waffles. Great Choice for both veggies and carnivores.

The best breakfast I've had in a long time. Enjoyed it with friends. Covid safety well considered. Had rhubarb cheesecake and vegan choc banana cake to take away. Highly recommended.

Great find at Toll Cross while we waited for the computer repair guys across the road to do their stuff. Warm welcome, water with a sprig of rosemary, excellent coffees and 4 choices of hot chocolate including caramel. Cakes are stinking. Carrot good but raspberry cheesecake super excellent. Highly recommend.

Un poco de error.El personal helado, sin sonrisas y bastante grosero, dijo que no había espacio para nosotros cuando una mesa quedó despejada unos 30 segundos después. Tuve que pedirle dos veces leche para café y parecía muy estresado porque el café estaba lleno. Incluso fue grosero cuando vinimos a pagar.La comida era otra historia: el menú del desayuno era limitado pero advertía que no se permitían intercambios / sustituciones en las comidas. El desayuno escocés fue satisfactorio, pero el desayuno vegetariano fue otra historia, no tan bueno.Fue la comida más seca que he visto (sin frijoles ni humedad) y el 50% del plato era champiñones, muy perezoso cuando esto sucede con las opciones vegetarianas.No volvería, estuve en Edimburgo unos días y terminé encontrando mejores lugares para el desayuno, para la comida y el personal más amable (también más barato).

After reading the awesome reviews we decided to come here for breakfast - it didn’t disappoint! The full Scottish breakfast and avocados and eggs on bagel were full of flavour! Nice atmosphere and had people waiting for tables continuously! Will be back!

Re visited Class cafe (Now Seven) with a couple of friends. Overall great experience once more but I was disappointed with my sandwich. I had the avocado, chicken, bacon sandwich and it was too oily and it just didn't taste right. The desserts were beautiful.

Ein sehr leckeres Frühstück in einem gemütlichen Café. Die Bedienung war auch ausgezeichnet und der liebe Gruß auf der Rechnung zeigt noch mal wie liebevoll das Personal mit den Gästen umgeht :)

Wir waren zum frühstücken hier und waren rundum zufrieden. Der Service war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und das Frühstück mega lecker. Ein sehr kleiner süßer Laden, war gut besucht, es wird jedoch nur Bargeld akzeptiert.

Locale molto accogliente, giovanile e colorato, perfetto per brunch o pranzo. Fanno, oltre alle tipiche colazioni salate, sandwich, insalate o zuppe. I panini sono deliziosi, ricchissimi e sazianti. Abbiamo preso due panini, uno al pollo con bacon e uno al salmone, serviti con una piccola insalatina e li abbiamo accompagnati a due smoothie buonissimi. L’acqua, come in ogni locale a Edimburgo, è gratis. Abbiamo speso in tutto £21 e siamo usciti sazi e soddisfatti. Consigliatissimo!

Having been coming to Edinburgh for years, we found this place about 3/4 years ago and now we genuinely book our Fringe accommodation around how close to this cafe we can get.

We came to this establishment and it was very busy. We were lucky to get a table. We were served quite quickly. The food was excellent quality tasted, smelt and looked fantastic. The bread was a thick wedge of the best toast I have ever tasted. Definitely on our list to return too. All in all an excellent breakfast

Adorable cafe with delicious vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options and baked goods. The kitchen closes in the afternoon, but the treats are delicious.

This little cafe was a gem of a find. The atmosphere was friendly and comfortable with a wonderful choice of music playing. We went there for breakfast and having read a review in which someone had found it still closed after 9:00 when it was supposed to open, we decided to persevere for a while when we too found it closed. It probably doesn’t reliably open at 9:00, it’s fair to say, but it’s definitely worth persevering. We were brought a jug of chilled water with a huge sprig of mint in to begin with. Very refreshing! And something I’ve adopted myself on return home. I had cashew butter, chia jam and banana with a bagel and it was delicious, as was my cappuccino. My husband had the veggie breakfast and I almost wished I’d had that. It looked, and apparently tasted, wonderful! Avocado, wilted spinach, mushroom and poached egg with toast. I would definitely recommend the place.

Собственно терять было нечего, решили в него зайти. Сказали себе: - эээх, была не была, заказываем завтрак шотландский, да с хаггисом побольше))). Завтрак нам очень понравился. Порции огромные, все очень вкусно и самое приятное в том, что наконец то поел идеальный морковный пирог. Не приторно сладкий, а именно то, что нужно. Всем советую это кафе и обязательно морковный пирог!

Så himla mysigt café med gott och fräscht utbud, trevlig personal och personlig inredning. En trevlig överraskning i det annars ganska slimmade utbud av bacon, ägg och haggis som Skottland erbjuder... Bra vego och veganutbud med! Går bara att betala kontant.

the food we saw being served looked amazing. liked the idea of the home baking, and produce used was of Scottish origin. I want to have a luch or brunch her next time, as all things looked amazing. We kept it simple, with lemon drizzle cake and scone. with hot chocolate and a latte. Just look at the menu options, Im sure it will make you want to visit. The home baking of cakes etc was great.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch for 2 today at Cafe Class. Thoroughly enjoyed the chicken,bacon and avocado sandwich. My wife devoured the egg,avocado and salad bagel with a little too much gusto! Excellent coffee and service with a smile. Had a nice selection of sweet rreats but was not tempted this time. Cash only at the till so please bear in mind. A great wee place to stop.

Gick hit för skotsk frukost och pannkakor. De har inte pannkakor på menyn längre, bilderna på dem på TripAdvisor är gamla. Min vän beställde vegetarisk frukost och tyckte den var god. Jag beställde bagel med banan, cashewsmör och sylt. Mycket god! Man fick dock bre och lägga på pålägget själv. Kaffet var inte 100%igt, lite surt i smaken, och latten var väldigt liten. De tar bara cash, inte kort. Trevlig personal och skön, avslappnande musik som inte störde trots att den var ganska hög. Kan rekommendera detta ställe.

Cafe Class came recommended by our Airbnb host. We were able to have breakfast there 3 mornings on our visit to Edinburgh, from the full Scottish breakfast (vegetarian also available) to absolutely awesome carrot cake (yes, for breakfast). We were never disappointed. The vibe is casual and cozy, the proprietress very welcoming, and each and every meal - delicious. We highly recommend.

¡Mi novio y yo visitamos la clase de café dos veces durante nuestra visita a Edingburgh ya que los rollitos de tocino eran increíbles! No es fácil encontrar un lugar donde se cocine el tocino de manera agradable y crujiente, ¡pero Cafe Class lo hizo a la perfección! Un rollo de buen tamaño con abundante relleno. El café también era bueno! Un menú simple pero buena comida y bebida y definitivamente recomendaría. No probé ninguno de los pasteles aunque parecían deliciosos!

Lamentablemente, había estado lloviendo e intentó lanzarse tan pronto como llegamos (que faltaban para las 9 am) pero se abrieron tarde. El chef llegó tarde también para llegar. Todo parecía un poco 'nervioso'. .

Desayunamos aquí una vez durante nuestra estancia en Edimburgo. La comida estaba deliciosa! Un desayuno escocés completo y un bollo con tocino y salchicha. Se notaba que el producto era de buena calidad y después se sentía lleno. Tienen un buen espíritu para los alimentos orgánicos y materiales reciclables. Sin embargo, fue muy notable que los condimentos se servían en envases de plástico de un solo uso, ¡lo cual era muy irónico! Tal vez eso sea algo para pensar. En general, todavía recomendaría comer allí por la calidad de la comida.

I came here with a friend. The day before we had to leave due to it being fully seated. But came back the following day and I have to say the food was worth the wait. Service however wasn't as great as I'd liked but they were friendly nonetheless.

Went here today after reading good reviews. Food was ok but found the service not that good. They didn’t seem interested and when we asked for a substitute instead of mushrooms (as my partner is allergic) they said no we’re too busy ‍♀️ ...not hard to take it off and add another sausage we wouldn’t think.

Popped in on the off chance for a brunch. Quite cosy but welcoming and pleasant staff. Didn't have hot food but coffee and home-made cakes were ideal. Good prices.

Been here a few times and it's always busy so l think that speaks for itself. I love the eclectic furniture in here, odd tables and chairs but it all works so well. Its one of those places that feels so cosy that you don't want to leave. Food is amazing and caters for everyone. I do tend to have the soup at lunchtime and not had a bad one yet. The staff are fantastic-very helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Well worth a visit when in Edinburgh

They advertise as having gluten free options, however that would appear to be tapwater and chocolate brownies (just what you want for breakfast at 10am!)

We were hoping for pancakes from the pictures on here, but they don't seem to do them anymore! However, we tried the full Scottish breakfast and it was delicious! Good service and the best coffee we had in Edinburgh during our whole trip! (Coffee is not one of Edinburgh's specialities...)

This is a completely wonderful cafe - amazing coffee, yummy food, smoothies and cakes! We tried just about everything on our visit and it was all completely fantastic - the vege breakfast is the best I’ve ever had!

Arrived at this restaurant at opening time to find it closed. Waited a few minutes & the manager (owner?) arrived. Not welcoming or friendly at all, rather we felt as though we bothered her by coming in. The food was reasonbly priced, so we decided to stay. The food turned out to be just ok, nothing exceptional. In retrospect, we should have left when we initially annoyed the proprietor by walking in.

We came here for breakfast on our last day in Edinburgh and had a lovely time. We were lucky enough to take the last free table. My sister had a bacon roll and I had an egg roll and it was lovely, arrived quickly and was very hot. We stayed a bit longer and had some delicious cake - cheesecake and carrot cake - which was very tasty and reasonably priced. This was a very lovely cafe with super friendly staff who were very helpful even when super busy.

Fantastic place, great service from the staff, could not ask for more and it was only a five minute walk from the Novotel.

Visited today for breakfast - 2 couples. Two of us had the full breakfast - cooked really well with very tasty haggis. One had the vegetarian breakfast which included even tastier vegetarian haggis! The sausage and egg breakfast roll was also good. All was amazing value as well. Friendly service. Definitely recommend.

We recently rented an apartment nearby and ate two breakfast meals here. It is a great little restaurant. The breakfast meals were wonderful. Full Scottish breakfast and breakfast sandwiches. Served piping hot and reasonable price. Excellent coffee too

We visited the cafe on our first morning in Edinburgh and it was so good we come back again the next day!

We were staying very close by this restaurant and lucky us. We ended up having an afternoon pick me up on our first day which was delicious, but the breakfast on our last day was the real star. The portions are large, the quality fantastic, and the flavor superb. This place really reminded us of something we've experienced in Brooklyn. I consider that a compliment since Brooklyn has a real foodie scene. One thing I will mention, you may need to ask for the check. The Scotland way seems to be very similar to Europe when it comes to dining...slow down and don't rush. That takes a while for us Americans to adjust to.

We took the Scottisch breakfast and we loved it! Every single part of it is prepared with care and love. There we tried haggis for the first time and we were totally into it.

Our first time ever in Scotland 52 years late. Stumbled upon this cafe and was amazed with the service and the food first time eating Hagis this was delicious, I would definitely recommend this cafe restaurant to anybody looking for a breakfast, they are also very environmentally friendly.

The space is small, so you may share a table. Service was warm and responsive. Enjoy cucumber water while you wait for a breakfast roll with your choice of toppings. Sausage and egg for me. Delightful!

En primer lugar, es muy asequible en comparación con otros lugares de desayuno / brunch en la zona, que es genial. La otra cosa que debo señalar es que ofrecen desayunos vegetarianos y veganos, pero también pasteles que fue increíble para mi novio intolerante a la lactosa. El único inconveniente es que no puedes cambiar / agregar cosas a tus desayunos que no me gustó pero aún así disfruté. Recomendaría.

Ho fatto un brunch in questo delizioso Bistrot il primo giorno in Edimburgo. Ho mangiato una zuppa di patate dolci buonissima con uova fritte vicino. Appena ti siedi ti portano acqua fresca aromatizzata alla menta. Il servizio è eccellente. Il cibo è buonissimo. Il menu è ricco di piatti allettanti, ci tornerò presto per provarli tutti.

Visitamos durante el borde para un desayuno caliente en un día de lluvia y nos alegramos de haberlo hecho! Nuestro grupo escocés completo (con sabrosos desayunos vegetariano) y haggis. Productos de primera calidad con carne sabrosa con salchichas, champiñones y agradable tostadas puerta tarragon, no piensas comer durante bastante tiempo después. Aparte de la comida, un buen servicio amable, la única pega es que es bastante pequeño, lo que crea un ambiente agradable, pero significa que puede que tenga que esperar un poco para una mesa. Sin duda re-visitar.

La calidad de la comida y batidos sirve es excelente. Yo tenía un verde batido y un brie/squash butternut ensalada. Ambos eran increíbles. El servicio es encantador, aunque tienes que esperar su comida por bastante tiempo. El lugar también es pequeña y bastante repleta de mesas.

A fresh and nutritious breakfast. Tasty whole bread/salmon sandwiches with a crispy salad and a full scotch breakfast: sausages, haggis, fried eggs, mushrooms and beans… Hot flavourful tea. Lovely fast and friendly service.
