We are breakfast here nearly every morning during our stay in Edinburgh. Food is good quality and very fast service. Would definitely recommend everyone in the area to try this place out☺️

Just had a fabulous lunch here. Mozzarella, tomatoes, salad and psto on a fresh toasted ciabbata. Absolutely delicious, Mozzarella was super creamy and everything so fresh. I Absolutely recommend this place for lunch, the coffe is great too. Lovely ambience friendly staff, it's a win on all front.

Probably my favourite cafe in Edinburgh. Great staff, super coffee which is roasted and blended on site. The croque monsieur is the best sandwich in the city. Great breakfast selections too. Large choice of cakes and tray bakes. Always a good atmosphere

Went on a Sunday around 11. The place was very busy but the service, food and coffee were exceptional. Bacon and black pudding on ciabatta very tasty.

Where to begin? Not only does this wee, unpretentious cafe make the BEST COFFEE KNOWN TO HUMAN KIND, but it also serves an absolutely perfect eggs Benedict! Already getting busy at 09:30 on a Saturday morning, we got a table no problem and swift and friendly staff attended within seconds, like a highly efficient pack of catering-raptors. The cafe latte is without doubt the best I have tasted EVER. Every previous cup of coffee merely becomes another blur in what can only be described as 51 years of disappointment in comparison. Dave’s ‘full breakfast’ was exactly that, and considering the speed of its destruction, and the popularity and frequency of its ordering, I’d say it is a crowd pleaser. Believing I am above such things, I opted for the Eggs Benedict, which was not just visually beautiful, but a light, delicious flavour extravaganza. The portion size was perfect and freshly milled black pepper was the icing on the cake. Talking of cakes, it is impossible to look at the array of delicious confections that greet you at the door without either drooling out your own pelvis, or ordering them all and spending the morning stuffed, happy, unable to move, with chocolate all over your face placed with the precision of an 18 month old infant with a large bar of dairy milk. Love this place, and don’t visit it enough.

Heerlijk ontbijtje gehad vanochtend. We hadden allebei de Croque Madame. En een Americano met melk. Super vriendelijke bediening. Wel klein restaurantje dus het zou kunnen dat het voor het ontbijt vol zit. Wij waren gelukkig op tijd.

Tried this little cafe for the first time and was very disappointed. Perhaps the other food is better but their Bacon Panini (they don’t do a bacon roll) was pretty awful. They were so dry, we couldn’t eat them.We also had tattie scones which were awful too. Nothing wrong with the tattie scones as such but they had not been fried or toasted. I suspect they were maybe microwaved but in any event, they were not nice at all. Given the total for the two paninis was almost £10, we were not impressed and would certainly not recommend this place. It’s a shame as we are local and wanted to like it.

I heard on the grapevine that this cafe was doing takeaways and as I live locally I decided to venture out to get my first 'coffee shop made' coffee in six weeks! Standing in the queue outside and the man in front of us started talking to myself and my daughter. He turned out to be one of the owners and gave my daughter her hot chocolate for free!!! We popped in here for a coffee and couldn’t resist the beautiful looking fresh baked cakes and muffins. Hubby had Red Velvet and I had the most delicious Blueberry Muffin. This is a well run coffee shop with lovely friendly staff.

We had a delicious breakfast at Word of Mouth! The service was fast and very friendly, and the food was gorgeous. A great little spot! I had a quiche and a cappuccino and my boyfriend had the Eggs Royale and an americano, we both loved our meal! The restaurant isn’t very big so don’t expect a ton of room, and it might not be a great spot for large groups, but they make good use of their space and we had a great time.

We had been here previously for coffee but this time it was for breakfast. I had poached egg with bacon and toast and it was superbly cooked, and we also had muesli which was also very much enjoyed. Great location, love the decor and the service is always vg.

Visited Word of Mouth Cafe for a vegetarian breakfast, the service was good as well as the food. Only downfall was that the cafe felt awfully stuffy. Apart from that, I would recommend based on food and service.

The full breakfast is cooked quickly in the open kitchen where you can see the staff cooking. It's served hot, fast and it's totally delicious! Seriously, it's one of the best cooked breakfasts I've had in Edinburgh, because the portion size was just right and the ingredients seemed to be of high quality. The flat white was also great! Will definitely be back again and again.

Staying up the road at the Courtyard hotel, dropped in to WOM for brunch on back of TA reviews & recommendations. Not disappointed. Cosy, good menu, good food & good banter with the staff. Do give it a go but get there early as it’s pretty popular!

Popped in here for brunch after seeing the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor. Arrived at 10.20 on a Sunday and it was full, it was during the Fringe. But despite this only had to wait 10 minutes for a table. The staff are very diligent workers. Menu has lots of good options. I went for the Croque Veggie and chai latte. The Croque was massive and so delicious! Can't fault it. Plus at only £10 for both it is very good value for money. Will definitely come back as I need to try some of the amazing cake.

This restaurant was a unexpected find. It’s small and out of the way but has amazing coffee and Eggs Benedict. The staff manages to do great things in a small space. We liked it so much we ate there three times during our stay. The carrot cake and Chai Latte is also exceptional.

Delighted to find a cafe in Edinburgh that serves tea for a reasonable price! As someone who does not drink coffee it can be expensive meeting friends when all your after is a decent cup of tea.

This place is tiny but if you can get a seat the food is fab. The Scottish breakfast was very tasty, all good quality ingredients its just a shame they don't allow swaps as this can lead to food waste. The croque monsieur was also good.

Serving great English Breakfast, cakes, pastries and even gluten free bakes. The service is good; the staff are efficient and speeding up orders. The Egg Royale Breafast was good; poached eggs was not overdone; just right, served with Scottish Smoked salmon, English Muffin, which was not hard. The Hollandaise sauce was creamy. All for 7.95 pounds. The full breakfast; Cumberland Sausages, bacon, black pudding, fried mushrooms, tomato, beans, potato scones (yummy and soft) with toast for 7.50 pounds. The breakfast is cooked on the spot and pretty fast. There are about 3 people working in the open kitchen plus 1 waitress. They even sell their coffee beans. Coffee is made fresh.

The coffee was superb and of the four meals ordered, two were utterly delicious (Eggs Benedict and a very generous Croque Monsieur), the Veggie breakfasts were however lacklustre, cold, basic, and a little uninspired. The service felt a little harassed and they'd crammed a couple of four-seater tables into a space much better suited to two, leading to a sweaty and claustrophobic atmosphere, detracting from the food. Cosy in winter but perhaps unbearably stuffy in Summer.

Everything on the menu I've had has been excellent. Only problem is it can be very busy so you might not get in.

WoM is a gorgeous, homely little place. Whilst punters are crammed in fairly ‘cheek-by-jowl’, this seems to not affect the comfortable intimacy of the place. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating and do their utmost to make you feel at home.
