My friend and I stumbled across this restaurant on a trip to Edinburgh. What a little gem! Food was absolutely gorgeous and we will definitely be back!!

Such an unexpected treat! We had just returned from a tour to the highlands and were looking for a place to eat. The food was delicious, service was great, and nice variety from the many pubs and other meals we’ve been having on our trip. Highly recommend!

Leaving my older first wife at home with the poor dog allows me to explore more widely as her food choices are limited by her age and teeth. Don’t be fooled into ordering too much here though unless hammering the gym as portions are huge ! Hummus lovely with lots of little accompaniments and the the grilled chicken cooked to perfection. Lovely young staff and great service ,barely remembered to ring the old gal as I was having such a good time. Thankyou Edinburgh

10/10 recommend this place! It’s a bit removed from the hustle and bustle of old/new town but it’s well worth the visit. I had their spinach and cheese pastry and vine leaves for starter, both amazing and flavorful. The spinach and cheese pastry were crispy, flaky and delicious! The vine leaves were fresh and came with a fresh and light yogurt sauce. For main course I had the Adana which is a souther Turkish dish consisting of minced lamb (kabob shape, cooked on a sword thing), along with rice, bulgar and salad. They offer sides of this chili sauce which is to die for. I enjoy spicier food so this option was perfect! The service is great. The entrance fools you as you see them cooking and think it’s a small empty spot until you’re invited to the back and it’s full of patrons. I definitely recommend!

I found this place completely by accident, but it was a hit, the food was really delicious, the atmosphere was good and, above all, the service was professional, very nice and, above all, I would like to say hello to the waitress with beautiful eyes 😁

Came to the UK for our 30th wedding anniversary . Found this restaurant looking for something close to our hotel in Edinburgh. Did not expect it to be this good. Ordered the sample platter for two. Lamb ribs, chops chicken shish, chicken wings and another meat (can't remember). One of the best meals we've had anywhere. We came back for a second night! Service was excellent and the staff were wonderful.

Authentic Turkish food with variety and some flavour. I have tried their restaurant as well as 5 takeaways so my review is regarding their food and restaurant service. Picture is for large mixed grill for 2 people (at more than £32), which is mainly doner mush (misleadingly labelled as shawerma) and a couple of wings, 3 small pieces of chicken/lamb cubes, 2 chops, 2 ribs. With loads of added sickening cheap oil, extremely fatty with the cheapest cuts and lowest amount of actual meat. Edited 2019-2024 Having been to this place on several occasions, I can now confirm the food is occasionally delicious, however, everything can be very inconsistent from the dishes, service, taste, portions etc.. You could easily have different servers/chefs giving you very different portions and condiments. The same applies to their service, quality and attitude. Sometimes Delicious but always disappointing. I am unsure who or why do they dish out the awards or nominations at such overpriced and underwhelming establishments

Was heading to a next door Italian but decided to try here (before theatre, no booking) and SO glad we did. Lovely warm welcome by the chefs at the door. Loved the decor of the restaurant. We ordered the hummus, and the Turkish spicy sausage to start which came with warm bread and a wee dish or chargrilled onions. and was so good. Main course we shared the large mixed grill which comes with a mountain of rice and couscous, and a huge bowl of salad. Our warm bread was replenished too. Absolutely delicious meal, thoroughly enjoyed. Baklava to end the meal was Devine, one portion is 3 pieces. Service was brilliant, we loved the food and it was very reasonably priced. Thank you. We will definitely be back!

Went with a party of over 30 people and the service was so fast and efficient, beyond expectations. All of the staff members were extremely nice and accommodating to our needs. The food was also amazing with great selection of dishes in huge portions. Their flat bread was one of the best ones ever tasted and the selection of cold mezes and the lamb shank were great as well.

Love their lamb ribs. Too good. Went with friends and ordered the xl mixed grill platter. Loved the taste. Also ordered some bread and hummus . Good quality hummus. Would recommend this place if you are into turkish food. For dessert ordered kunafa. That was okaish. Had better ones before.

Absolutely amazing, been here a few times and it never lets me down. Only issue was my brother wanted a child’s portion so he could have a smaller portion and they wouldn’t allow it. Other than that the service and the food was great.

The restaurant is actually pretty good! The atmosphere is really nice, but I have to admit, the prices are a bit on the higher side.

Good nice wee place, friendly and attentive. Loved the adana kebab, and the chicken. Would've been a perfect meal if I just had those but unfortunately I ordered a mix cold meze starter, which I felt was a huge let down, as well as the ayran, that was just wrong. The chicken dish we ordered was a let down too. The mixed grill saved the day I guess, apart from the lamb in it, which was very dry. So I guess if it wasn't for the adana and the chicken codes, this Would've been a very different review as it also seemed a little underwhelming for the price. All in all I'd come back for more adana kebab.

I must express my surprise and disappointment with the service during our most recent visit to the restaurant, a venue where my family, friends, and I have been dedicated customers for over three years. The team, while usually congenial, placed me in a perplexing predicament. When I asked for my remaining food to be packaged for takeaway, I was given an empty cardboard box and expected to box it myself, an undertaking not normally anticipated from a diner. Adding to the frustration, a call to the manager after leaving was met with a challenging demeanor, devoid of the professionalism one would anticipate. It’s deeply regrettable that the handling of this incident has significantly diminished my regard for a restaurant we previously esteemed highly.

Delightful Turkish food and huge portions of it. I had the Izkender Döner and if I would have closed my eyes I would have believed I was in Turkey. Highly recommended.

I had dinner with friends. The place is nice with a great atmosphere and big portions. We had the big sharing platter for 5 persons and it is great value for money.

If there were 7 stars for service, I would have given them the highest level of kindness, cheerfulness, welcome and assistance, especially the kind and generous Ukrainian young man, Ekryl. We ordered extremely delicious shawarma, amazing lentil soup, delicious and elaborate cucumber yogurt, and kebab with rice that was delicious, but a little if the edges were not burnt. Ayran milk is fabulous..

Always warm, clean and friendly and the food is great too. All those delicious classics. Thanks

Came out for a friends birthday tonight and I have never tried Turkish cuisine before, but it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had! 100% recommend. I had the Chicken Shish Wrap which was delicious. The sides and dips that came with it were exceptional with the lovely warm bread. Staff were so friendly and kind. Nice decor and lots of options so check it out if you can. I will definitely be back 😊

My main meal was very nice, however Kay had the Lamb Mousaka, which was a bit dry .... service was ok, but seemed only one person spoke and understood English ??.... Difficult to rate the atmosphere, as it was very quiet.... We still spent over £100, which was disappointing !!

My husband and I had dinner at this restaurant for the very first time last evening and we were honestly very impressed by the food and service they provided. We had the mixed cold meze for our starter and that filled our tummies up more than we had expected. As for our main course, we ordered the large mixed grill which came with some crisp salad. The portion was so big the two of us had a hard time finishing it. Last but not least, we tried their freshly-made baklavas. There were actually 4 pieces but my husband ate a piece before I could take a photo of them. Lol. The waiters/waitresses were all very attentive and friendly, which made our dining experience an enjoyable one. P. S. What a find and one of the best meals I've had in Edinburgh ! Big portions and all tasted amazing. Loved all the sides it came out with and especially the warm bread. Lovely decor and very friendly staff, I'll definitely be coming back and I recommend 💯

After splashing out on an expensive fancy meal the night before, we just wanted some good authentic Mediterranean food and this place got it spot on. Great service, super tasty food (mixed grill) and cheap too - definitely give it a go!

It would have been a 5* all round but we found hairs in our food on 4 separate dishes. The table next to us also said the same.

Been here many times and can't fault anything, from drinks to dessert and the service its hard to find anything that could be improved upon.

I’m not sure why there are so many good reviews of the place. I went with my wife and the food was average to below average. The prices are way off the mark. My wife got what was essentially a donor kebab on a plate which cost nearly £20. My starter was Turkish sausage which entailed 4 small slices of a sausage which was £8. The best thing I had was the bread. Will not be going back as it was no where near value for money and below average food.. I will also not be recommending it to friends.

Party of 11 of us. Dropped in here as it was across from our hotel. Managed to get a table without booking. It was busy. Great food and price as was agreed by everyone. Some very nice dishes. My fav the house bread n spicy dip.

We visit the restaurant a week ago and we really enjoyed the food. The service was good . We went on a Monday so it was expected to be quiet. Every penny was totally worthy, quality and quantity 10 out of 10 I can’t wait to visit again!

Extremely underrated restaurant is the best way to put it! Actually one of the best restaurants in town with the friendliest service. Very authentic Turkish Mediterranean cuisine, with generous portions. The perfect way to kickstart a long day of travel. I'm from NYC and plan to return here anytime I'm in Edinburgh.

Treated myself a Turkish dinner tonight in Edinburgh. The yaprak sarma was very delicious, took me back home. The lamb döner wrap was very tasty and so big in portion with generous amount of chips and salad as expected from a Turkish restaurant. Nice ambiance with variety of Turkish music playing on the background and the loveliest staff. As an ayran lover I was dissappointed in the drink. Unfortunately it was very diluted and didnt really taste right. And finally the baklava... I didn't expect much to be fair but it was not good. Getting good authentic Turkish baklava in UK is really hard but I wanted to give it a try anyway. Overall, good experience and appeased my homesickness.

My fiance and I visited this place for dinner yesterday 06/11/23. We had ginger beer and coke zero for our drinks. For the meals, we had 1 kaburga, 1 tavul kanadi, 1 kuzu kofte, 1 Pilav. Every single item tasted great, with the kebabs and chicken wings well cooked and juicy We enjoyed the meal and look forward to visiting this restaurant in future. It is located 1 minute away from The Holiday Inn Express Hotel and is easily accessible.

This is some of the best Turkish food I've had in Scotland, really tasty, and the service is great!

We were delighted to find a Turkish restaurant across the street from the Courtyard in Edinburgh. Even more so to find out it serves excellent food. We ordered the lamb shank and the Adana kebab. In Turkey, we would expect an Adana kebab to be quite spicy, but we were assured that it was not. They were correct, it had a good hint of spice but was not too hot to eat. The lamb shank was similarly spiced, enough to be very flavorful without being overpowering. For dessert, we had Kunefe, which is shredded wheat with cheese and soaked in syrup with a sprinkle of pistachios on top. It was also excellent. The interior is nice and clean, but not fancy. We had the advantage of having traveled to Turkey several times, so we knew what to expect and what to order. The English descriptions of the food are clear, but it you don't understand something talk to the knowledgeable staff for advice. Would happily return.

We stumbled across this restaurant quite by accident on arrival in Edinburgh and trying to locate our hotel. Feeling tired and not wanting to venture far we opted to go to Ada restaurant. We were so pleased we did, the customer service was excellent, both waitresses were attentive, polite and friendly. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. All 4 of us were unanimous in agreeing that the restaurant was excellent and would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.

My wife and I went to Ada recently for lunch while on weekend trip to Edinburgh. The restaurant is not too far from city centre. We went on a Saturday and not too busy. Restaurant is very clean and not too fussy. The food was outstanding and you get lot to eat. The service was friendly and attentive. Recommend the adana and chicken shish. Highly recommend.

I just bought some take away rice pudding for my Turkish friend in hospital. It had a miraculous effect. 👌

Visited this restaurant as part of our day out near Edinburgh. Everything was absolutely amazing. Service was excellent, to be honest it's so rare nowadays to have everyone so welcoming and polite from the moment we stepped in till the moment we left. Well done to all staff. The food was very tasty. We ordered cold meze, mixed grill to share, I would recommend both dishes, very yummy. The bread was very tasty and unlimited. For dessert we ordered baklava and rice pudding, again very, very tasty. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who would like Turkish food and I myself would definitely be back. Thank you

Went in on a Friday night, had the lamb and chicken dishes. Everything tasted really good. Service was outstanding as well.

Arriving from Fife last Thursday to attend the Playhouse Theatre, we wanted a quick one course supper. There are many choices in this area but Turkish hit the nail on the head and we were not disappointed. We were warmly welcomed and shown to a table. Six pm and the place was filling up nicely. I had a lamb casserole and himself a lamb kebab. The portions were generous to the point that even he couldn't finish the whole plateful. They were both delicious. We don't visit Edinburgh very often but Ada will be top of the list of Restaurant choices in the future. A big Thank you to all the staff. We'll be back to see you after we get back from Dalyan and are having Turkish food withdrawal symptoms!

Wow Ada staff are wonderful! We visited tonight for the first time after being recommended by a friend and it definitely didn’t disappoint. We had a show at the playhouse theatre so went for dinner before. As soon as we entered we were greeted by the chefs and staff were all happy. Menu has a great variety and good drinks including nice cocktails. Really big food portions including a great selection for vegetarians and very good value for money. Well done team Ada, keep up the good work. Highly recommend 🤩

Et tilfeldig stopp her endte opp med en innertier. Hyggelig med innsyn til kjøkkenet er kokkene hilser når man går inn. Trivelig lokale og veldig god betjening, selv om det var travelt. Vi bestilte en mixed grill for å dele. Det var mye mat og ikke minst var den fantastisk god! Smakte som ekte tyrkisk grill skal, med mye godt tilbehør. Absolutt et sted å anbefale!

Friendly welcome from all staff, the service and food was first class as usual, absolutely love the bread. Was raining heavy when I left and the staff gave me an umbrella that they had, love this restaurant so much.

I had the adana kebab and it , taking me back to my Nene I northern cyprus. Reject more bread when your main is servced as the food portions are very generous that you don't need bread during your main. They serve Efes, which is the traditional Turkish beer, so if you plan to order a beer or lager, then you must try the Efes. The Helim is served to perfection, too.

I am very disappointed to be honest the service wasn’t bad the lady who was serving our table was really helpful and was very polite. However, I cannot say the same thing about the gentleman who greeted us I think he is the manger or something he was very rude and he was rushing us. The food wasn’t great either this is not traditional taste for Turkish food. I was very disappointed with the quality of the food we received. At one point we just stopped asking to get things replaced. We unfortunately had a very unpleasant surprise in our bread basket the waitress was very helpful so we didn’t complain about that but when it comes to the food I was just very disappointed it definitely did not meet my expectations.

Truly Turkish food. The meat and the various salads were tasty. The restaurant isn't pricey and the service was good. We booked in advance and received a phone call to confirm that they would keep the table for us. Recommended!
