We had the most wonderful night here last night celebrating my birthday. The food and drinks were amazing and the staff went above and beyond! Huge thanks to Eri and his team. A fantastic restaurant that we all simply loved! Thank you :)

Sub par tapas. Friendly staff, but felt rushed in and out. Very loud, hard to converse.

A good choice of tapas, but not all of the tapas are as tasty and it is a bit overpriced. The cocktails are amazing though.

Lovely atmosphere, staff are very friendly and helpful. I recommend the bruschetta which was delicious, and also the chorizo with lentils which were rich and flavoursome without being overly oily.

Went today for lunch as after perusing the outside menu fancied what was on offer and the prices were reasonable compared to most, no lunch menu, I always find this a little disappointing these days in restaurants but understand the times. So from the À la carte menu it was the chicken mains which we both had, one tomato based the other white wine and mushroom, I can say the portions are very generous. I was delighted with the food, exceeded my expectations, the wine choice was fine, the dessert, Tiramisu probably one of the best I have ever had. Will return for sure.

Love this place whether for full dishes or small tapas. Efficient service and good value for money on staple food. Gorgeous deco and inside space too. Defo recommend!

Lovely restaurant, lovely staff and nice food. But that’s it, it’s nice, not great. Tortilla didn’t seem fresh nor the calamari. Highlights were the bread and the Greek dips. Had high hopes! Note: the portion sizes are not tapas size, they’re huge. This is not a criticism but easy to order way too much!

While the food was freshly made, it had been reheated. My Feta and Spinach pie wrapped in filo pastry was poor. It had not come from a conventional oven because the pastry was soft and chewy. Disappointing.

Small restaurant that doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is good and plentiful and the service is quite quick. It is better to book because it is very popular

Best tapas we've discovered in Edinburgh. The staff is very nice. You can either get a fixed menu or choose your own tapas which we did. We had three tapas each which was almost too much. Next time we would only get five tapas for us two. We definitely recommend, especially the sea food. 👍

Great little place with welcoming staff and extensive tapas menu. Good atmosphere, good range of food on offer. Made to feel welcome and nothing was a problem. Menu cards are a bit “tired” and need refreshed

We love to visit La Casa anytime we fancy light bites or a bigger tapas dinner in Leith. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, and the wine selection pairs really nicely with their menu. Their specials are always good to check out, and in warmer weather the frozen cocktails are a delight. Highly recommend!

Very overpriced for what we received. The food was ok but nothing special –undercooked calamari and vegetables and the saganaki was below par compared to other Greek restaurants we’ve been to. In fairness, the falafel and spanakopita were decent and the service was quick. But we left feeling disappointed as our meal came to nearly £100 for two of us. We’ve eaten far more impressive food for less!

Were there twice. First time inside for dinner. Nice atmosphere with very tasty food and fast service. The second time outside. Rather less nice, as suppliers on bicycles kept chatting in front of us on the main street. Tiramisu was ok. Price performance rather expensive. Reservation is an advantage.

Ieri sera siamo stati qua a cena…..e non siamo rimasti soddisfatti …..abbiamo ordinato due tapas per iniziare e capire se aveva senso prendere altro . ordiniamo due birre alla spina pale Ale ma era finita avevano solo birra Moretti alla spina venendo dall’Italia abbiamo evitato di prenderla 6 sterle per una birra da discount anche no per parlare del vino che è meglio berlo altrove. Ci portano Humus e Tzaziki il secondo non sapeva di cetriolo crediamo sia per tutti ma si sono sbagliati come per la birra non era per noi….era per altro tavolo . Arriva polipo murato di limone e rosmarino con patate bruciate fuori e crude dentro….bisogna dirlo che c’è limone a me non piace…..

Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and great staff. Melitzanosalata is heaven on a plate. We also shared Horaitiki, Lentejas con Chorizo and Patatas bravas which was a great combination of tastes and textures. The house red was super too.

Perfect place to go if you want to have a lot of little plates to share with a friend or SO. We got the fries, chicken, lentil soup and meatballs between 2 people. Very filling and delicious, I got a mocktail that tasted great! Service was nice and the atmosphere was very warm.

A little underwhelmed after reading reviews. Food was just Ok. We ordered a mixture of dishes and they were promptly served. Had better, had worse. Service was hit and miss. Ordered more drinks but they never arrived. Waiter admitted he had forgotten when we enquired where they were. Unfortunately we had eaten most of our food without drinks. Upon finishing were were not offered desserts or more drinks. Eventually caught waiters attention and got the bill. Wont return.

Very good food and drink options. Had the three course lunch menu with the daily specials for drink and dessert. Good value.

I have never eaten such tough lamb in my life. The potatoes were probably fried several times, but not like Belgian fries, just soft and dripping with fat. I do not recommend

Booked here as thought was close to playhouse but further down Leith Walk than I thought. Food was excellent and served very quickly. Had a few tapas dishes which were all very tasty. Best tiramisu I've had. Wee bit noisy as quite open but definitely will return.

Nice restaurant where we had delicious tapas. They also served an excellent red house wine. We made a reservation the day before because it is a fairly busy restaurant.

Unfortunately a disappointing experience: we chose the chef's tapas proposal and in fact the quantities were abundant and tasty, but I recommend choosing separately from the menu because the choice is certainly better; but together we also requested a catch, fish dish, which in addition to arriving much later, we were disappointed by the unpleasant smell of not fresh fish. We had to have it taken away: I'm clear that we are not fussy people and we adapt, but risking our health... no thanks. Too bad, because it could have been a good dinner. To conclude, we also had difficulty paying, with the credit card we had to make the payment like an online purchase, entering the number and security code.....🤔 We were not pleased. The only positive note is the kind and helpful waiters, the stars go to them.

I thought I'd do Leith Walk (downhill) and pop into one of the many cafes. I passed quite a few before this one tempted me in with it's coffee aroma and display of desserts. After a friendly welcome I found myself at an outdoor table in the sunshine, perfect. Water arrived straight away, and my Americano and Tiramisu shortly after. What a glorious way to people-watch without people knowing you're people-watching. I popped inside to pay and the atmosphere was delightful.

Voluntary attempt at Spanish food, for being in Edinburgh it is good... It is appreciated.... Plus I was staying in front of the apartment...!! Perfect 2 dinners out of 5 on the house

I was a little bit underwhelmed by food. Prawns were very salty, and chips weren't crispy. Also, service was quite slow and not very attentive. We had to "catch" the waiters attention to order more drinks and to get our table cleaned. I'm not sure if I would go back...

Great evening at La Casa. They were very patient and helpful to us, choosing wine and making sure we were ok with everything. Because we kept talking and talking, our food got cold, so we politely explained and asked if the food could be warmed up and Staverlous (it began with an "S" we apologise if it's wrong...Staverlous) SAVED THE DAY! We couldn't eat it all in the end, so he packaged it up for us. We were there until close and felt bad, but they never felt to rush us. Very kind, professional staff.

Greek and Spanish tapas. We had lamb and it was superb. It's small, casual, moderately priced and excellent.

Pre-booked Monday evening dinner for 4. Good ambience with stripped walls and original feature ceilings, comfortable dining area. Attentive service and great tapas for sharing. Good selection of wines, cocktails and beers to match anything on the menu. Portion size was very good. grilled octopus possibly a highlight for the tapas, really tasty, but all were good. Langoustine in the linguine mains were large and perfectly cooked, as was the cod in the other fish main at the table. A relaxed and happy atmosphere, complete with olive trees outside the restaurant, helped to a very good evening meal. Definitely recommend.

Very nice surprise! We arrived at 2 p.m. and were received quite well. The tapas are excellent, I highly recommend the tzatziki with the pita bread, I didn't have time to take a photo of them because we were starving. In short, go for it :)

We dropped in without booking and were found a table on a thursday night. The food was fabulous and very generous for Tapas. the place - staff, atmosphere and other diners all friendly and relaxed. A gem of a find.

La Casa has long been a favourite of ours - never disappoints. Generous size tapas/mezze, with options for vegetarians, vegan etc. I’m gluten and dairy intolerant and have no problem selecting. Lovely decor, professional staff, great cocktails, nice atmosphere.

Lovely service, great big fresh mussels and lovely cod in lemon sauce. always ask for lunch menu if it is within the time scale

The dishes are not bad but I wouldn't say they are good. They lack flavor, and the prices are relatively high (almost £8 for a small slice of tortilla as an appetizer)

Just had a lovely lunch at La Casa and the young man who served us was charming. Definitely recommend going.

Do not visit solo on a Saturday afternoon. I arrived approx 14.45 but they would not admit me even although I could see a vacant table of two.

Went for a birthday dinner, and there was even an option to specify it was for a birthday when we booked. They didn’t bring out anything special for the birthday, and the waiter even kind of gave us a weird shrug when we brought it up, as if asking “what are we supposed to do about it?” They also forgot two or three things we ordered. On top of that, the food was pretty flavorless. The octopus seemed unseasoned, the shrimp was only a little bit spicy. It’s like this restaurant is afraid of offending Brits with a weak constitution for actual flavor. The best thing was the mussels, which is definitely the easiest to get right, and even so there are like five other places in the neighborhood with better mussels. It just seems like one of those places that because it looks nice and has a good location the food doesn’t have to be very good for it to be successful.

Decided on tapas,stumbled across this place,but what a find,very homely and plenty of laughter on my occasion,went for 3 tapas dishes and all shots in the dark,well i was astonished some of the best food i had ever sampledand the idea of small different dishes ticked all the boxes 10 out of 10 from me!

Amazing place. I’m not normally a fan of red wine but the sangria was great and I’ve never had anything like it. It says for 3-4 plates per person however the plates here are huge.

A chance find on passing in the tram looking for lunch.It was a little quiet due to late lunch.On stepping inside we knew we chose well.Service was good with a friendly waiter.Food was excellent and brought out in stages which suited.Loved potato croquettes with blue cheese dip. Will certainly be back as tram stop right at door.

Really nice mezze, mixture of Spanish and greek dishes

Pretty decent. Garlic prawns and fluffy grilled pitta bread triangles amongst the highlights. Mussels good too. A simple but well put-together wine list, vibrant dining area and friendly staff complete the picture.

Fresh food, well cooked. Range of dishes. Halloumi, cheese croquettes & meatballs good. Falafel is incredible! Service was warm and friendly - fractionally more attentive/speed for 5⭐ but was a busy Saturday night when we went and we the food and drink arrived in good time. Free limoncello at the end great place would recommend and hopefully will be back soon.

Albondigas (meetballs) awful fell apart just like eating mince in a bland tomato sauce, Halloumi rubber no olive oil, patatas bravas NOT boiled potatoes, croquettas de serrano, should have a competition to find any serrano in these, gambas pil pil only passable thing we ordered that was anyway Spanish tasting, just 4 small prawns overpriced.

A bit on the higher end of the pricing, but good food, lively atmosphere and just overall the cafe passes the vibe check. This was great to have a dinner with friends who are not very adventurous foodies as the cafe mostly serves tasty classics. Would eat here again!

The hummus and pasta with shrimp were really good. The food came quite quickly, and the service was decent. I would visit again for the lentil soup.

We were at la casa leith on Christmas eve and it was so nice, warm and welcoming with seats next to the window and the radiator!! The staff are brilliant and so is the food. Served very efficiently, it really was a nice time. Thank you

The ambiance of this restaurant was really nice. The food was very tasty. The waitress was very nice with us and he was waiting until we were everyone in the restaurant before he could give us the main dishes. The only thing I don't really like is the Braves Potatoes. I'm Catalan and the braves potatoes don't use a tomato sauce, reather it uses the all-i-oli or brava sauce.

Delicious food. I found the portions rather large. So next time I go I will order 2 dishes not 3.

I went there yesterday and I have to say the food is way better than cafe Andalus at George Street. The service was impeccable and the two waitresses were so nice and kind. This kind of service and feeling of warmth would make you go back again. Just lovely.

All of the tapas and salads we had were excellent. The two paella dishes were also very good, fresh seafood, prawns, mussels... as too were the desserts. Best tapas we have had in recent memory.

We were pleasantly surprised after eating here after walking by. Food was excellent. Service was great. We were slightly rushed, but that was only because they had existing reservations. Would definitely recommend.

This is a nice spot. Quick service, friendly staff. Very clean environment, spacious. I found the chorizo far too salty, the falafels too tough, and the octopus was overcooked and chewy. The ham & cheese croquettes however were great, as were the pork & beef meatballs with tomato sauce. The tzatziki was also very nice. Overall, not a bad experience but there are better tapas options available around central Edinburgh (in my opinion) within the same price bracket.

I have been a fan of La Casa(one at Fountain Park) for 2 years, and it is my first time noticing a La Casa at Leith. It should be a pleasure night since I have my favourite restaurant on a Saturday Night but it turns out that I am troubled and disappointed about tonight's experience. The decorations of this La Casa is exactly the same as the one at Fountain Park and it is always quite cosy and comfortable when dining in. There is nothing to complain about the setup or decorations. The food is terrible at this restaurant and it is probably the only time that we left almost the whole main course on the table and left. When the food is served, my first impression is that the food is generally smaller compared to the food at La Casa Dalry. The octopus that we ordered is burnt and tastes quite weird. Since I have been to the La Casa many times at Fountain Park, I know exactly the tastes. The Octopus is really burnt and there is no other taste than the burnt flavour in my mouth. The spaghetti with the king prawn is always my favourite main course and I order it every time I go to La Casa. So I chose it again this time when I was at the La Casa- Leith. The food is salty and my girlfriend was laughing and said "Has the chef forgotten to wash the pot?" I don't want to be rude but La Casa is really one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh so I spoke to the waitress tonight and it was my first time to directly stress the issue of food. I can't really remember how many times I mentioned the La Casa to my friends. The waitress indeed apologised and said she would speak to the chef. However, I didn't hear any word back from either the waitress or the chef. Since my main course of mine is too salty while my girlfriend's is full of weird herbal tastes, we asked for the bills soon after discussing the food issues with the other waitress. From the very beginning to the very end, there were no people to explain what was wrong with the food and I only heard a small "sorry" from the poor waitress's mouth when we left. I hate Karen's behaviour but it really gives me a feeling that the restaurant is arrogant and doesn't really care about the two random customers. My sincere apologies for mentioning La Casa Dalry many times and comparing the two La Casa. I am not really sure if people will read my reviews but there is a lovely story happening at La Casa Dalry that impressed me and made me a fan of La Casa since that time. I was having some tapas at that time and then the main course(the spaghetti with king prawn that I mentioned above) was served. Since I was still eating tapas, so I left the main course aside. The waiter noticed that and spoke to the chef. The chef came out from the kitchen and came to my table to place the main course at the very centre of the table. The chef even asked me if there was anything wrong with the main course that made me put it aside and only ate the tapas. I indeed felt that the whole restaurant respects every single customer and that is why I am a fan of La Casa. I valued a lot of the food at La Casa and the interaction with either the waitress or the chef. My apologies for saying so much but I am really disappointed about tonight's experience at La Casa Leith. It would really be nice if any of my voice could be heard by any chance.
