My friend and I had dinner here and it was absolutely fantastic! The food was delicious, the service was impeccable — not a single thing to fault. Such a lovely find, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Went for a birthday celebration and the food was amazing and the service, very welcoming and attentive. Would highly recommend.

A proper neighbourhood resturant, fantastic food at really reasonable prices. Pittas and dips to start as always, fantastic garlic mushrooms, cheese Saganaki amazing but make sure you have someone to share it with as it can be a bit full on for one person. Finally finished with the pork chop which was cooked brilliantly. The owners are so lovely and looked after us. They told us they were celebrating 10 years in business which for an independent resturant is sensational without even remembering that includes covid. It's testmount to the special place they have created. Heres hoping they have at least another 10 years in them.

I absolutely love this restaurant, this is was my second visit and it was just as good as the first. The staff were very accommodating when I asked to move to another table (there was nothing wrong with the table, I just wanted to move to a booth) and of course the food was absolutely delicious. A highlight was the octopus and the pork chop. I had a dirty martini which was super strong (be warned haha!) and our waiter was friendly and answered our questions about the food. I can't sing their praises enough, I would come here every week if i could!

Buen ambiente, buen servicio y excelente comida. Platos sobresalientes para mí fueron las judías griegas, el dip de berenjenas y ensaladas. El pulpo también era precioso, pero caro por la cantidad servida. El pan Pitta es lo mejor que hemos comido pero sentimos que debe venir automáticamente con los dips en lugar de como un extra. Retsina genial también. Volveré a visitarlo con gusto a su regreso a Edimburgo.

Por dónde empezar. Buena comida, buena elección. Servicio impresionantemente malo y grosero. Trajeron la factura y la máquina de tarjetas. Éramos cuatro, así que dije, si me das un minuto. Así que podríamos ordenar dividir la cuenta y pensar en una propina (si la hubiera). El servidor se quedó donde estaban y dijo 'Te lo dije, ya lo he dividido en la máquina'. Llegamos justo después de las 6 y pedimos comida, bebida y cafés. Uno de nuestro grupo se enfrenta a un grave problema de salud y estábamos hablando de cómo está, el tratamiento, etc. Nos pidieron salir a las 8 pm, inmediatamente después del café. Dijeron que necesitaban nuestra mesa. Había otras personas allí todavía. había un montón de mesas libres, no se necesita reservas, nadie estaba esperando y la cocina cerró a las 9 de la noche según un aviso. Claramente nos querían fuera. El servidor siguió comprobando que íbamos y casi se para sobre nosotros, nos quedamos afuera charlando y claramente no había nadie viniendo a nuestra mesa. Nunca he experimentado algo así. Una lástima ya que disfrutamos de la comida y el restaurante es agradable. Nunca volveremos, y en mi opinión, nadie debe ir si quiere personal cálido y acogedor para cuidar de ellos. Fue particularmente molesto dado que uno de ellos es nuestro grupo que encuentra bastante difícil salir debido a la salud. Odio escribir una mala crítica, ya que soy consciente de que eso es asunto de alguien, pero tal vez se darán cuenta y entrenarán al personal adecuadamente

Wonderful independent restaurant serving up the best Greek food in Edinburgh. A short walk from the city centre, Spitaki offers authentic Greek fayre at a reasonable price. We enjoyed cheese saganaki, which was essentially fried feta and it was delicious. Smoky aubergine dip and a Greek salad - both fresh and bursting with flavour. The meat keftedes were a generous portion with a pleasing chargrilled note to them, while the chicken souvlaki were succulent and cooked with care. The flatbreads were a real highlight: pillowy soft and very moorish, ideal for dunking into the dips and picking up the meat elements. Service was very pleasant and you could tell care went into everything.

I'd been meaning to come here for ages, what a great place!

A superb place to eat. I've eaten here several times, most recently today, and have recommended it to friends, colleagues, and clients on the basis of grub (authentic and excellent), service (attentive and friendly without being fawning), and vibes (really chilled). Today's visit was to celebrate my daughter's widening horizons and I was joined by her, my son, my wife and her parents. We ate terrifically and were looked after really well. Will be back soon ...

Dined here and had an excellent experience. Being early for our reservation we were welcomed in and assued there was no problem. We were provided with a selection of excellent food in a friendly atmosphere and attentive staff.

The food here is amazing. The staff are just amazing, always very helpful. And the service is quick. When I visit my daughter travelling from London this place is always my first choice to go to.

Delicious food and fantastic service. Comes straight from the kitchen when it's ready, piping hot and so fresh. 3 dishes per person was about right but I had to be rolled back to the car - very generous meze!

Lovely Staff, great ambience, good range of Greekish food, which is delicious. The buzz of conversation was quite loud, but a super evening. Nice to have some Greek wines

Excelente como siempre. Este es nuestro ir - restaurante para nuestra clase de griego. el personal es brillante, y muy paciente mientras probamos pequeños trozos de griego y luego caducamos en inglés. Teníamos una mezcla de platos de mezze, que eran muy sabrosos y todos terminamos sintiéndonos demasiado llenos para manejar el postre griego! Me gustó particularmente los calamares - los griegos tienen una manera de cocinarlo que siempre lo deja suave dentro de la capa crujiente, y nunca grasosa! Todo fue magnífico. El personal también era extremadamente paciente con nosotros, ya que algunos de nosotros esperamos a que llegaran de todo Edimburgo, con autobuses y taxis todos jugando! Efcharisto polee (mi PC no tiene un teclado griego) ! vaya aquí para la cocina casera griega adecuada.

Probably the best restaurant experience I've had in my 12 years in Edinburgh. Amazing food, which is as good if not better than many of the restaurants I've been to in Greece itself. Really good service, really good value for money, really nice relaxed atmosphere that wasn't too loud (which has been an issue for us in a couple of places recently). We will definitely be back.

US tourist here. I was overwhelmed by the Fringe so I walked a few miles away and found this hidden gem. The food was reasonably priced and very good.

One of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh. A real neighbourhood and family atmosphere. The food is always so fresh and home-cooked.. i love everything on the menu and all the wines are delicious and reasonably priced. It is always full and justifiably so.

Small, cosy neighbourhood restaurant on a quiet street, with Greek food and decor. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly! I had two meze dishes, hummus, and two orders of steaming hot pita bread. My friend had the seasoned potatoes and chicken souvlaki, with baklava as a dessert.

If you love greek food you should definetly come by. We had some amazing food and very friendly and patient personnel!

It is a good restaurant. Nice atmosphere, decent food though I would prefer bigger portions, desert was the best part. Service was decent nothing special. You will have no parking options.

Probably one of the “closest to actually being in Greece” restaurants in Edinburgh. The food is very authentic and has that Greek home-cooking style. The gigantes (giant butter beans) are particularly worth a mention. The menu is a little small, with some solid Greek staples missing (dolmadakia, yemista etc), but what they do offer is delicious. The restaurant itself is bright and airy and has a real lovely vibe.

The food is great the staff are great and very good for coeliacs too .

This is our local restaurant and we come here often. I just love the laid back vibe, the jugs of Greek house wine with little tumbler glasses, and the casual tapas style dining. The food is super tasty and they have plenty of vegan and gluten free options, and can advise on other allergens too (came with my niece who has an allergy to soy, sesame and peanuts with no problem). We take all of our friends and family here and they all love it (rare to find somewhere that everyone is happy with!) The tapas style makes it very sociable. Note food comes out as it is ready, the delicious dips and pitta bread (or amazing roast potatoes for gluten free) come first as a starter. Plus we find it great value for money. And if your eyes are bigger than your belly as ours often are, they won’t hesitate to give you a takeaway box so that’s tomorrow’s lunch sorted too :) Not surprising that it is always busy - recommend booking to be safe.

Wow, what wonderful food! I judge a restaurant by its calamari and Spitaki’s was the best I’ve ever had. All the food was excellent and the service was superb.

A quaint and bijou Greek specialist nestled in a quieter part of Edinburgh, always bustles with taste and atmosphere. Tremendous and great food with a selection of Greek dishes that suits vegans and meat-eaters alike. Friendly staff simply add to the experience and Mezze plates are attractive and full, if you want them all to your own, or to share. Step away from the busy city and book a table of satisfaction, in the real heart of Edinburgh.

Best Greek Food ever in the UK! It was my first time trying Greek food and i absolutely fell in love, which makes me plan to travel to Greece 🥹 It was 4 yrs ago but i still miss this taste 🥲 i will come back!!!

Love this place, cheap, cheerful, and they never ever hold back on the garlic.

The food is home-made Greek food at its best. There were five of us, three with Greek heritage, sharing as many plates as we could. The stand out dishes were the courgette fritters, spicy Feta dip, and the melitzanosalata. The freshness of the ingredients was evident in the taste. The wine list is short, but interesting, tempting, and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and efficient, and we're looking forward to going back.

Terrible service, since arrival I was continually told the time I had to vacate the table and even though the time had been agreed upon, the waitress continued to create a tense atmosphere, with comments such as: "You don't have time to order that dish" and "I'm making you a favor by bringing you this dish." Disappointing not being able to enjoy such good food, being constantly pressured to eat and leave. 😪

Been here a couple of times when we visit Edinburgh. It's definitely one of our favourite spots and the food is fantastic. A lot better than other greeks, which push out the classic dishes. Would thoroughly recommend. We always book, and the place does seem busy.

The closet thing to authentic Greek food in Edinburgh. Amazing family run gem. Terrific service that makes you feel like you’re one of the family. Our 2nd time back after months and the menu was the same which shows the confidence in cooking what they know. And do they cook it well. Cannot fault would definitely recommend!

Lovely authentic Greek food in a nice surroundings

Absolutely delicious food. We especially liked both salads, the gigantes, tzatziki and pita. Also lamb chops. Basically everything we ordered. It’s also very cute and had some authentic Greek music.

Food was good and the only reason I'm giving 4 stars, it was quite a wait and service wasn't attentive which is such a shame because the place itself is lovely with lots of character. We ordered the Gigantes (yum), chicken souvlaki (yum) Greek salad & Calamari.

Really lovely food and great service. I particularly like the interior of the restaurant and the ouzo cocktail.

We had dinner with a range of dishes. They recommend ~3 dishes per person. We got 7 dishes and could not finish all our choices. The chicken kebabs were nice and juicy. I liked the calamari too. Overall the food was tasty and service friendly. I was a bit disappointed with the bean stew, which lacked flavour.

Our first experience of Greek food and we were blown away. The food was amazing from dips and bread to fish and meat dishes all delicious. I am not a sweet fan but the chocolate brownie was to die for. Friendly helpful staff and a great atmosphere. Can’t wait to return 👏👏👏

The grilled mushrooms were like eating a steak. The gigantes beans and chicken souvlaki were perfectly cooked. Finished the meal with delicious bougatsa. Really friendly staff. Plan on eating here again before we head out to Ireland.

The food was tasty, but the portions were very small IMHO. Service was also good.

Had lovely meal on Saturday evening. There was a good choice including for the vegetarian. Portions were not too large which kept the price down. Wine prices were very reasonable and I would recommend the house white.

Really nice food! Everything was tasty especially the octopus and the baked feta. I recommend booking a table in advance too. Staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. It is tapas style so the food comes out when it’s ready rather than all at once at the same time.

Top Greek restaurant with a taverna menu of meze, my fave was prawn saganaki but everything was great. Worth a detour for good Greek food. Highly recommended.

This place is incredible!!!! Been several times but this time was served by one of the owners. As alway, the food, ambiance and service was incredible. When I tasted by chicken I was immediately transported to Santorini 15 years ago to a very happy memory. Incredible, I only wish I was with more people so I could order more dishes. Love you guys!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Food was edible but very small portions, service is substandard and the place is ok. I would rather have a meal deal in Tesco than eat here again
