We have eaten very well because we haven't done it for days!! Nora and Miguel's treatment was super good!! Highly recommended

Piggs Our recent visit to Piggs was, unfortunately underwhelming. Despite having a two-hour reservation, we felt rushed and found both the service and food lacking in key areas. From the start, service was slow—taking 15 minutes to have our order taken and another 10 minutes for drinks to arrive. The tapas-style dishes were served as they were ready, which is expected, but disappointingly, none of them arrived at a truly hot temperature. Additionally, the flavors were underwhelming—over-seasoned in some cases, but without any standout elements that made the meal particularly memorable. The biggest issue, however, was the feeling of being hurried out. At the 1.5-hour mark, we were told we needed to start leaving, and our coats were even brought to us despite technically having 15 minutes left on our booking. This made for an abrupt and uncomfortable end to the meal, reinforcing the sense that the restaurant prioritized turnover over customer experience. Overall, Piggs didn’t impress in terms of food, service, or ambiance. While we understand the need for time management with reservations, the rushed experience and lacklustre dishes make it difficult to recommend. A more thoughtful approach to both pacing and hospitality would go a long way in improving the dining experience.

Booked a table for some lunch with friends. The service was excellent and quick and the food/wine options were good. Thoroughly recommend a visit.

We had such a great experience at Piggs! The tapas was absolutely amazing and the place had a lovely vibe. The staff were all incredibly helpful and friendly, especially Nora, who was so attentive and made excellent recommendations - she really made our visit so special. Would definitely recommend this place!

Walked past on the royal mile and saw it was a small restaurant but busy. Checked out the menu and booked straight away. Cannot recommend this restaurant more (hidden gem)- the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. We loved the flat iron steak, patatas bravas, Spanish tortilla, chicken thighs and meatballs. The krakajillo cocktail was a perfect aperitif and our waitress Tanya was friendly and make excellent recommendations.

Spanish tapas in Scotland!? Yes!!! After three days of walking and tons of food and whiskey, we stopped in. Don’t come to Edinburgh if you won’t take time for Piggs. Absolutely amazing.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Piggs! From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The service was impeccable—friendly, attentive, and professional without being overbearing. Now, onto the food—simply outstanding! Every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and made with high-quality ingredients. The attention to detail in both taste and presentation was impressive. Whether you're a fan of Tapa classics or something a bit more refined, there's something for everyone on the menu. Overall, Piggs exceeded my expectations in every way. If you're looking for delicious food, excellent service, and a great dining experience, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

The food is amazing (especially the fabada), lots of choice, had the el goru wine which was lovely. Great staff, Tania was very welcoming and attentive ! :)

Food was tasty, no complaints however if you’re really looking for authentic Spanish tapas this isn’t the place. Portions are small depending on which ones you choose, but ordering 6 plates is enough to share between 2. Disappointed with the croquettes, they were very creamy with an almost slimey consistency. The restaurants advertises a good vibe however we were left disappointed as no vibe at all on our visit, modern music and really bright inside. Service was good and the waitresses were polite and friendly.

We are at PIGGS on our recent trip.to Edinburgh. What a gem of a place. Absolutely fantastic from the moment we entered. The staff were very attentive giving us lots of information about the food and drinks on offer. The food was amazing and plenty to choose from. We didn't try any of the wine but they have lots to offer. The atmosphere was very relaxed with lovely Spanish music playing. Great value for money. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Edinburgh.

As a Spanish person, I must say that this is not a real Spanish restaurant. It's a total tourist trap unfortunately. The tortilla is maybe the worst tortilla ever, barely any potatoes and eggs raw enough to give you salmonella, the pollo al ajillo was actually boiled chicken soup with no taste of garlic to be seen, the croquetas were awful, not cooked properly and with nary a piece of mushroom found. What surprises me is that the reviews are so positive for the food because it was truly a disappointment. I will say the staff is lovely and very attentive and the ambience was fine.

Fabulous food and excellent service

Lovely staff and formal establishment provide a comfortable dine. The menu counts with a good variety of traditional foods, from cold charcuterie and cheeses to warm tapas. Highlights of our order were the nicely cooked and generous sized gambas al ajillo (prawns) and chorizo a la sidra (cider chorizo). That being said, the small overcooked chewy expensive octopus was an insult to every person that has ever lived, visited or thought of Spain.

Such a great find. Very busy, but managed to fit us in at bar. Tapas were top class. And great staff, everything made with love.

We really liked it, well-prepared food and exquisite service, as well as very quick delivery of the dishes. That's why they always keep him in trouble. We will repeat.

Good without being excellent. Went for lunch, shared the platter (very good except bread was extra - not spanish). Gambas tasted odd as if they were added to the garlicky butter sauce after they were cooked. Plenty money for what it was but something different for this side of town. It was very busy and we both found it hard to hear each other or the waiting staff (a testament to how busy it was).

This is my favorite shop. I visited for the first time before this summer. It seemed very busy, but all the staff were so nice to us that we wanted to come back again. The customer service is always courteous and you can enjoy a very pleasant meal.

Was able to get a weekday night booking here on short notice. The tapas were great and came in good sizes. Reasonably priced food and drinks, and the staff were very friendly. Rare to get this combination in the middle of touristy Old Town. My only comment is that the seats are quite packed and the music is too loud given how many people are also trying to talk.

A very cozy place! All very good. We tried the meatballs, scrambled eggs with ham, and mushroom croquettes, and each dish was incredible. We accompany it with Resalso and Estrella Galicia wine, perfect pairing! In addition, they have off-menu dishes that are surprising. We will return without a doubt. 5 stars.

I came here for the first time today for lunch with a friend and had a great experience. Eating out as a coeliac can be anxiety inducing but I’d called ahead and they explained they had lots of gluten free items, including fried items that could be cooked in a dedicated fryer. I had Patatas bravas, steak, padron peppers and a cheesecake- they were all Devine!!! Thank you so much for catering for us, it really makes such a difference when restaurants make these adjustments to make eating out safe and inclusive. Attentive staff and a warm cosey setting. I’ll be back, very soon!!

I love tapas. But sadly not all the dishes were great. The chorizo, patatas bravas and the churros were great. But the two speciality dishes felt reheated or overcooked. The staff are excellent and very accomodating. It all felt a bit twee with staff wearing mini kilts. Shame as I really wanted to like it,,!

A lively place, music too loud for me but hey I'm 60. Tried 2 tapas dishes one was fabulous the other one pretty basic. Wine was too warm but the waiter brought a cooler for it, a point for that. Overall a lively place with good food and a decent wine list.

I FELT LIKE A PIG… That’s how I felt after leaving the restaurant after ordering the whole menu! Wow… this has to be my new favourite spot in Edinburgh. If you haven’t been, this is a MUST VISIT. Food was stunning with each dish we had we were eager for the next bite. My partner has been looking for patatas bravas for so long since a trip to Barcelona and this place did not disappoint. Best ones yet! Staff were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the menu. Huge credit to the whole team! Oh yeah! I nearly forgot! The cocktails are a must!!

Feels like Spain!! Just excellent. The staff were so super friendly. The quality of the food was exceptional and the wine was delicious. It’s a lovely environment and the music is fab. I think we got super lucky because it snowed!! Not only was there a last minute booking for 4, we also got an extended stay due to a cancellation. Thank you, can’t recommend highly enough 😊😊

Stopped here in October during our trip in Scotland. The food not only tasted great, but felt great (the perfect break from overloading on traditional Scottish food). They were so lovely to accommodate my gluten free dietary needs. Big shout out to our cook for the night, Arthur. We were very impressed with how quickly the food came out, especially on a packed night and was delicious. Even sent us on our way with a shot to stay toasty. Great experience! Made a last minute booking here for a birthday meal and it was delicious! Plently of choice with some food combinations I never would've put together but completely worked! The steak was incredible, particularly the glaze it came with! Service was fantastic and our waiter made sure we made the most out of their great menu selection. Would definitely recommend for a couples romantic meal.

Amazing Spanish restaurant with friendly staff and excellent tapas. We were filled up on just 4 plates! There's a beautiful Albarino wine Sand box along with the specials I would highly recommend. We sat at the bar table which was good fun and added to the atmosphere. I have lived in Spain and have friends in Galicia and felt this was a nice authentic restaurant in Edinburgh. Thanks guys for 2 lovely nights!

Fantastic food best tapas in edinburgh

I have only good things to say about this place. The food is superb, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is great. It feels that you are actually away on holiday. Book in advance because it is tiny.

Great vibe and a warm welcome from every member of the team when we walked in for our meal (pre book if you can).. They explained the different options available to us for food and advised a lovely wine that would compliment it. They weren't wrong! Not pushy at all and would easily recommend them We'll be back!!

Went to Edinburgh on the train for a day out and just happens to fall upon Piggs on the royal mile for lunch. What an absolute find. From start to finish the service, atmosphere and food was absolutely fantastic. We are foodies and dine at Michelin star restaurants, and for a high street restaurant, the all round quality from the staff knowing their wine to food presentation and taste was brilliant. Well worth a trip. Can’t recommend enough.

A wonderful tapas restaurant on the Royal Mile. Everything was prepared perfectly and was absolutely delicious.

This was excellent! The food is exceptional (especially the pan di tomate, patatas bravas and baked goats cheese), service friendly and fast, and great atmosphere. Two tapas per person is plenty. We booked a place at the bar earlier in the day, even though fully booked online! We'd come back here if we visited again.

Best tapas ever! As an avid restaurant goer in Edinburgh, PUGGS Royal Mile is up there with one of my favourite spots to enjoy a meal with friends and loved ones. From the service and ambience to the food and beverages everything was exceptional, thanks to Nora!!!!! 🩷

Fantastic tapas place with a great wine selection. The octopus was delicious as well as the brie toast they had on special. It is a small space and gets quite full though.

We visited Piggs on the royal mile on the 9/10/2024 as part of mine and husband's anniversary celebrations The Food was absolutely amazing at PIGGS it really was very traditional Spanish tapas ,the place is quaint and beautiful, really friendly staff, wonderful service. We Really enjoyed everything 🥰

Whether you are Spanish or not, the truth is that they serve exquisite food. I recommend it 100% for lovers of Spanish cuisine. We will repeat again... Good business you have set up in Edinburgh, both brothers (owners).

Had a fab meal here with our friends yesterday, platters were fab, loved the Spanish cheese and the steak tapas was perfect. Staff lovely and explained different dishes. We booked as there was 6 of us. Will visit again soon

Food lovely, rushed service let it down.

The food here is delicious. It’s tapas so plan to order multiples and share. We had the olives, pork and beef meatballs, chicken in a white wine rosemary sauce, beef filet with a lovely sauce and sopressito (sp?). Everything was delicious. Staff is friendly and attentive. Nice wine list. Make a reservation as it is small and very busy. I highly recommend!

Surprisingly good. Stopped in for a bite and tea. Tapas menu made it easy to try new things, and the staff is delightful.

Last minute booking. The staff were so welcoming and very accommodating. The food was amazing and even gave us some cheese to takeaway as my partner was obsessed with it. We will definitely be back and recommend to everyone we know.

We had a marvelous meal and thoroughly enjoyed watching the young woman working the flat top grill and fryer. The wait staff was outstanding for whom pleasing the customers seemed to be second nature.

Overrated! Poor cocktail list Food was ok. Some staff nice some not. Nice wine! But basically got chased out after 90 mins. Been in plenty places where it’s been made clear we only had table for 2 hours and been fine about it but this guy was just rude! Sells itself as authentic tapas place but not much better than Cafe Andaluz. Won’t be back.

The food is delicious and legitimate Spanish cuisine. The atmosphere is great. Tanya and Grace were very helpful and dealt with a reservation complication very well. We’ll definitely be coming back because of them!

My husband and I really enjoyed the experience here! We ordered a selection of three tapas each and it was brought out in a timely manner cooked fresh and I enjoyed watching them being prepared very entertaining and all delightful. Excellent tapas place to stop by when in Edinburgh! Traditional Spanish plates with a hint of uniqueness. Daily specials are a must to try, jamon served on a crispy but super soft bread and simply a menu that ticks all boxes when it comes to a 'small plates' restaurant concept. Very nice staff!
