Me and my partner both love eating out as we work in hospitality. This is the best red we’ve ate at in a while. The team are amazing, they host, bar tend and cook the food all in front of you. The restaurant is a delight to all those who done and work there in my opinion. Congratulations giys, you have it nailed on and best of luck for the next opening

Been wanting to try here for ages after seeing a post on Instagram. Wow! This place did not disappoint. The staff were really friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was lovely and the food and drinks were amazing! Can’t wait to go back already and can see why it is so popular. What a find, we stopped for breakfast and cannot recommended this place enough. Service was first class and breakfast was one of the best Spanish breakfasts I’ve had. Beautifully presented and with a smile. We will definitely return for dinner. Prices were reasonable too.

Came here for the first time on Sunday for our anniversary and really enjoyed it! Food was superb - we had 5 tapas between us and all looked and tasted great. It was very busy but the excellent staff were on top of everything (apart from we asked for water twice and never got any??) and the place has a really good atmosphere The only slightly negative comment I’d make is the wine is pretty expensive - it is the city centre I suppose but a few more priced around 25 quid would be good

The quality of food here was excellent. Even the couple of dishes that weren't particulalry to my taste were manifestly good examples of what they were. Reasonable selection of drinks from which we had an exceptional glass of Albarino and a delicious bottle of Mencia from Bierzo. They also gave us a cherry and chocolate liquor before we left, which I'd never had before but which was very much to my (sweet) taste - Fonte Do Frade. Very friendly staff. Much more than just "How is your meal today" even though the place was very busy. Even a couple of staff who weren't serving us stopped by for a quick word. Service was speedy - just what you want when you have a rugby match to get to. Not cheap but the food and drink was so good that I felt it was overall good value. Value is much more important to me than cost. Place is very atmospheric and felt very genuine. So why only 4 stars? 1. When we arrived (February in Scotland) the front door was wide open and the place was cold. This was probably because the fat friers were both runing full pace and the place smelt of fat. Both of these issues improved after the friers were turned off/down and the door could be closed. 2. Most of the seating is on high stools. I knew this before I booked so I was prepared for it but the stools are wooden without padding and after an hour I did start feeling uncomfortable and wishing for a cushion. I hope this doesn't put anybody off but you need to go in the right frame of mind. If I hadn't known in advance I suspect it might have annoyed me. Overall the positives here far outweigh the negatives and I'm certainly hoping to visit again on my next trip to Edinburgh.

Great food with something for everyone, really good service and not rushed at all. Slightly away from the main tourist trail. Been a few times and always been good.

This was our first trip to Edinburgh. We initially booked a table at the Witchery but after seeing the menu we quickly cancelled. We booked this on a Wim and I’m so glad we did. The food was absolutely exquisite, the best tapas I’ve ever had. The wine was also superb. I’m so glad we accidentally found Piggs as I’d come back to Edinburgh just to eat here. The service was also fantastic, Cameron made us feel right at home being a fellow Englishman!

First visit to Piggs. Great staff, great food and great vibe. Vermut, lots of tapas, great Rioja and a wee PX sherry to finish. Try the tortilla and book in advance. Fabulous.
