Great bar with fantastic staff, Bella and Felix always make you feel welcome, and of course not forgetting the absolute gentleman that is Chris who I may or may not have spent an evening calling him Felix in error. Anyway they're all a bunch of legends and you should let these lovely people give you drinks and good times.

As always, friends and I had a great experience in Starbar last night. Bella was great craic and so welcoming. Best pub in Edinburgh no question. Thanks for the sausage rolls!

Fantastic pub! A hub of warmth and good vibes all year round. Especially enjoyable on a cold winter evening. Always playing great music, a highlight that helps Star Bar stand out. The bar staff and management are excellent. We met Bella whilst there, who was super friendly and attentive! You're always made to feel welcome. Highly recommend popping in for a drink.

The Star Bar gives nothing away from the outside and it's too easy to walk on by. Indeed, years ago I lived round the corner and never gave the bar a second thought. Fortunately this all changed during the summer this year when my best drinking buddie and I were heading from Broughton Street to Jamaica Mews and decided to pop in on the off chance we might find a decent mojito; our mission for the evening! The welcome was mighty and we knew immediately we'd found our tribe. Bella ( she who runs the place supported by an extraordinary troupe) shook our hands warmly and all notion of mojitos quickly evaporated when she prepared us both her own version. We were home. Something that quickly became apparent was that every other person there felt exactly the same! A roasty toasty, inviting, inclusively alternative, independently-minded venue with something to say for itself; so lacking these days in the blank face of corporate institutions. No visit to Edinburgh is complete these days without a visit. I always look forward to the next time.

My god. What a place! You know when you walk in somewhere and feel instantly at home? Yeah, that. The most lovely people, welcoming team and cosy space. So glad I found Starbar.

I really feel the need to share the Love that I experienced here at the Starbar. I instantly felt welcomed by a girl after my own heart cos she had me up dancing within 20 mins n I'm a bit shy n walked in being the only chick dressed up for Halloween lol. Well she was the owner Bella n the chick is so cool, had a great positive energy which oozzed through the venue, especially with her man Max making the music happen. Another great guy that I can only describe as Dude is cool as. So if your looking for a good nite out in Edinburgh this is a place that you are surrounded by positive energy, friendly folk n good vibez and I highly recommend Starbar guyz 💯💖.

I didn't have food here and don't even know if they serve it but for a drinking escape Star Bar is class. The promise made by a small plaque at the entrance is not kept: this is not a Star Wars themed bar. However, there is a quirky and slightly nerdy décor vibe. I liked the Hellraiser art and the pride flags. I guess the attraction is that this hidden local oasis, unexpectedly, has a beer garden. There's a TARDIS like property to both the inside and outside. Star Bar is larger than it seems. It's an all weather bar. Star Barn is expensive, a pint of beer and a pint of cola cost me nearly £10. Expensive, yes, outrageous, no. My bar tender danced, sung and then later in the night helped carry drinks out. Full credit.

Chill little bar run by some of the kindest, most welcoming people. You know it is run by good people when all of the regulars are good people too. One of the highlights of my trip to Edinburgh was finding this gem.

never had a bad night in that place. amazing staff considering the turn around of drinks. atmosphere is great with a good DJ and the outdoor space at the back is always a plus.

Lovely place to have a drink, great service very interesting people, everyone had a lovely smile. But to top it all off i was given a Starbar chocolate. Happy days.

This place is a hidden gem! I’m so glad I stumbled upon it. The service was excellent. People were awesome. Such a laid back and nice vibe. Total dive bar but comfortable and nice. They have a small bar, relaxing indoor seating area, and great outdoor patio with lots of seating. Bella was so welcoming. Highly recommend stopping in if chill is your vibe.

Bella was a fantastic host to us and our group for a number of hours. Great hospitality, good tunes, lovely pints and darts and table football to keep you entertained. Beer garden was a lovely haven as well. If you want a fun pub outing somewhere that offers a lot to the customers, please look no further. Looking forward to my next trip to Starbat in the near future. P.S Good luck beating Bella at Table Football P.S.S Felix behind the bar pours a good pint and I'd top lad, didn't grumble too much when he had to change 3 barrels on the trot for us! See you soon!

Great wee bar to drink away last night's hang over, very chilled, although it can get ridiculously lively on the weekends. The beer garden is a haven in the summer.

Me and my missus came up from London to stay in Edinburgh for the week. Of all the pubs we went to, this by far had the best vibes, was super cool and was the only pub packed on a Thursday night. Big shout out to owner Bella who was hilarious to chat and made us feel like locals. Will 100% come back here next time we're in town.

Scottish pub, with a terrace. Very nice staff, on Mondays they meet to play trivia. It also has darts to play, a foosball table and board games, so depending on the people who go, the place is a little noisy.

One of my favourites over the years, happy it’s still going and a nice wee edinburgh secret. Wish they had kept the jukebox going though!

We stayed in Edinburgh for 16 days and ended up at star bar probably 13 days of our stay. Bella, Charles, Chris and Georgia are all such great bartenders and so lovely to hang with and talk too. The bar itself has a really cool atmosphere and we loved the beer garden as well! It was hands down our favorite pub during our stay. MUCH LOVE FROM AMERICA!! Xoxoxxo

Horrendous. After I complained that the beer was quite obviously off, the staff poured it away and simply shrugged their shoulders without a solution. Didn't offer another beer. Didn't apologise. Paid for two pints of off beer and we then left. Terrible.

Staff who didn't drink beer were trying to say that their beer wasn't sour when it was obviously off. After pouring away the two drinks they refused to replace them. Wouldn't bother coming here.

Super cool place. Edinburgh's best kept secret!! Unlike so many pubs out there, this place is real. Just had a new owner take over too, clearly a lot of effort going into making it the best boozer in the city

Really liked the old school rock bar vibe, chat with the owner and excellent jukebox.

Almost empty with limited and expensive draft drink options. But there was a bar football table.

Quirky wee bar with a bit of character but absolutely ruined by the owner who is probably the most ignorant and weirdest barman ive came across in my life. Stares and you from behind the bar and has nothing but cheeky comments and bad attitude.

A hidden gem in the heart of Edinburgh New Town. Not your average New Town pub, a bit dark and shabby but lots of atmosphere, some good beers, friendly staff and a little beer garden which is not easily come by in Edinburgh.

Plenty of rich students hanging around, but great vibe and in a beautiful part of town.

Great Staff. They allowed us to buy pizzas from other place!
