First visit with many more to come - we turned up late for our booking but were made to feel more than welcome met with a friendly accommodating owner who advised he had kept the kitchen staff on a little longer 🤝. Accessible entrance and toilets in an older building demonstrated the effort to be all exclusive - thank you guys . Wonderful food - friendly atmosphere - lovely decor - clean and tidy - very reasonable prices - great choice - first class - great staff . Tried to tip the kitchen staff thru card but it’s cash only which is understandable - so please bring some along as they are extremely nice and efficient - this is shared out monthly. Can see why you are busy 👍 so book in advance possibly ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A fantastic brunch today. I had been given an itison voucher for my birthday for 2 brunch dishes and either 2 hot drinks or non alcoholic wine. We opted for an Americano and a tea, fantastic big cups, and an apple juice for my son. Ordered the Gourie Goucho and the travelling Scotsman for eating and my son insisted on Mac cheese which the kitchen were very accommodating with, even at 10am! All food was delicious and you can tell the quality in the ingredients as well as the banter. A fantastic place, where you you wait for quality fresh food. Brilliant, quirky spot.

30 quid magic munchie for 3 people had next to no food pizza was dry and for 30 quid could have got more food and still had change.. sort it oot

Fantastic staff and food. Have been for both brunch and afternoon teas and couldn't fault it. Tasty cake selection too! One of the best cafés around Dundee.

I was recommended to come and check out the antiques and the lovely food in the cafeteria, the staff were very welcoming and attentive.

Easy parking outside. Had High Tea which was outstanding. Staff were great and very attentative. Would recommend without hesitation.

I wanted to take my Husband to the cafe to experience the lovely food. Alas, we were turned away at the door by a man who shouted “ no tables for half an hour!” There was a couple with a dog who went in before us and were turned away too. They walked off and we went back to our car and drove away. There were 5 cars parked in the car park. Terrible way to treat potential customers . We won’t be returning. We went into Perth and had a lovely lunch at the Black watch museum and cafe. Highly recommend.

Sooo sad that this wee gem of a cafe has closed.We always went inpast on our way down to the awards in Glasgow and our trips down south. Always such a delight to visit. You will be sorely missed for your wonderful soups, sandwiches and lovely home baking. All the very best to you all for the future in whatever you choose to do.

we were regulars here and brought a friend on Friday My.husband ordered nd.by.midtske omitted yp ask.for.my.toast yo be.left.inbutterrd as eating butter hospitalised.me Naturally it came buttered and I.asked politely for a dry.l.pirce which arrived few moments later tjhe waitress a bout.q7 arrived to order properly.in.future and I was mortified by.her lecture at age 80. Will not banging again

My 74 year old mum crashed her car today outside the cafe. While she was waiting for the recovery truck she went into the cafe as she was cold and it was going dark. She was shaken up and really cold and was told you were closing up. She told the waitress she had crashed her car and asked if she could just warm up in there while they closed up for a few minutes. The waitress said she would ask her boss but came back and said no - sending my mum back out into the cold on her own. The decent thing to do would have been to ask if she’s ok, offer her a cup of tea and show a little bit of compassion. Really really poor show. It really would have taken very little effort and she wasn’t asking for much. I’m absolutely disgusted by you.

Amazing meal tonight for our table of 14! Service fab and all meals brilliant, everyone was really happy. Also great value for money. Only myself out of our whole table had been here before and so hopefully more will be returning now :)

I'm diabetic so asked for beans and toast to be removed and swapped for mushrooms. I was charged full price for the breakfast and another £1.25 for the mushrooms. After paying they said they had no mushrooms, no refund offered for either breakfast, both paid for as extra. The £1.25 hash browns was extra and you only get one. My husband had no beans served on his plate. Unimpressed and annoyed! £31 for 2 cocked up breakfasts and a tea. Bacon like leather and two very odd sausages. Black pudding very nice.

Turned up at 22:02 only to be refused my room as I couldn’t check in after 2200, even though I had highlighted that my check in will be between 22-2300. Was spoken to on the phone by someone, who refused to give me their name, only to be repeatedly told I was too late, after driving nearly 3hrs, to check in. Absolutely disgusting service!!
