Horseshoe Cafe in Perth & Kinross

My 74 year old mum crashed her car today outside the cafe. While she was waiting for the recovery truck she went into the cafe as she was cold and it was going dark. She was shaken up and really cold and was told you were closing up. She told the waitress she had crashed her car and asked if she could just warm up in there while they closed up for a few minutes. The waitress said she would ask her boss but came back and said no - sending my mum back out into the cold on her own. The decent thing to do would have been to ask if she’s ok, offer her a cup of tea and show a little bit of compassion. Really really poor show. It really would have taken very little effort and she wasn’t asking for much. I’m absolutely disgusted by you.

we were regulars here and brought a friend on Friday My.husband ordered nd.by.midtske omitted yp ask.for.my.toast yo be.left.inbutterrd as eating butter hospitalised.me Naturally it came buttered and I.asked politely for a dry.l.pirce which arrived few moments later tjhe waitress a bout.q7 arrived to order properly.in.future and I was mortified by.her lecture at age 80. Will not banging again

En route from Perth to Brechin for an evening we were in need of a quick meal. Having been an infrequent visitor to this well known ‘truckers’ haunt for quite a few years I was pleased to introduce my brother-in- law to the Horseshoe. He was utterly charmed and delighted by its homely atmosphere and traditional, straightforward and satisfying Scottish fare. The promptly rustled up breaded fish and chips with peas alongside our coffee and hot chocolate certainly hit the spot. The fish was cooked to perfection, the chips were hot and crispy, all in all excellent value for money. Long may it continue to offer its own authentic and notably unpretentious brand of catering. Thanks. We’ll be back!

First visit today . Parking area more than a bit muddy , due to horrendous rain in last 8 weeks . But warm welcome inside . With 2 friends , one had mince and tatties , one chose the Turkey , as I did . Food came very quickly , on looking at my plate of turkey it looked amazing , and did not disappoint . The plate of mince and tatties disappeared very quickly . Followed by 2 x Apple Crumble with Custard and one Christmas Pudding and Custard . Then 2 x Flat White and One Regular Coffee. Not my turn to pay , but it looked like Great Value . I will certainly return.

Went here previously but keep missing the junction to pull off on our way to dundee. Although the menu is limited and basic. There is something for most. Piping hot tasty food. Lovely mug of tea and coffee and pleasant staff. Such a quirky place. Feels like we stepped back in time. Its brilliant!

Although good service and hot breakfast the eggs where lying in oil on the plate.Lorne sausage was tough.Rest was OK.Now the coffee no it wasn't any coffee I had tasted before.Sour taste and even some sugar didn't improve it.

No nonsense food. Good quality and value. Massive plate of soup. Tasty cheese burger and good mug of coffee. Interesting collection of toy trucks and photographs.

Proper food properly cooked. No frills just great food just like my gran used to cook. Great service, nice people and very reasonable prices. Hard to find anything better.

I’m sure this place is well loved but do not do the select the choose your own breakfast. £32 for two of us and it wasn’t a massive breakfast. The coffee is horrible, mellow birds, cheap rank. Won’t be back as I felt totally robbed. Food was ok but worth £15 not £32z

This is the third time we have visited and the food is always fantastic. Everything is freshly made and high quality and very reasonably priced. And the decor is awesome too, with lots of lorry-related nostalgia adorning the walls. The breakfast is a proper feed and beautiful. Mince and chips has also been a treat and the Lasagna is clearly homemade and very tasty. Apple crumble and custard is an amazing finish. This place is so good we make a point of going out our way to visit. Really friendly staff too.

Thanks to COVID I have missed my Big Breakfast so when my SIL from Aberdeen suggested we meet there to take my my wife North to see the family after a couple of years, well I got my heart’s desire. Tasty, fresh and good ingredients. The truckers know where to eat. No frills. Just good old fashioned service and clean unlike another local purveyor of greasy mountains of stringy bacon. If you need a comfort stop and good scran, the Horseshoe is for you.

If you are looking for good,basic, yet tasty and good value food,then the horseshoe cafe is the place to go. Friendly and helpful staff and efficient, the cafe is clean and easily accessible off the A90, will definitely be using it again
