Having always enjoyed meals at The Doll’s House we imagined this was a mere name change, and were drawn in by the offer of a reasonably priced set menu all day Wednesday and Thursday. Inside the decor was smart enough and the waitress pleasant. However they were unaware of the set menu offer clearly advertised outside, and then said they’d still put our meal through at that price so long as we didn’t order anything expensive ! This wasn’t easy as five dishes were already sold out by 7.30, leaving little choice. The soups were ok, as was my deer, but my wife’s ratatouille was the most ridiculous item I’ve ever seen offered as main dish- three slices of undercooked courgette, a few tomatoes swimming in a watery sauce. We skipped desserts and were presented with a bill of £72, the manager having forgotten her promise. On appeal she applied a discount, but £58 was still very expensive for an experience that could charitably be described as poor. I’d steer well clear - there is no shortage of places to eat in St Andrews.

What a cool, moody venue. Visited the Steak Barn for a late lunch with the family. We all had steak & chips, with sides of peppercorn sauce. Portion sizes were generous (even the kids steak). The steak was beautifully cooked and tasted amazing due to the bbq cooking. The chips were also fab. Cost for 4 steaks (inc. 1 kids), 2 pints & 1 coke was c£120 inc. tip. Will definitely be back. Popped into the Larder next door afterwards, gorgeous farm shop with lots of choice. Just lovely 😁

Went here for a birthday meal, 9 of us, and I can honestly say the food was shocking, we ordered garlic bread for a starter and never got it easiest thing to get right, The new nashville burger over cooked with chips that looked like they had been cooking for a week with the worst salad to come on top of a burger.. Out of 9 people, 3 people liked it their meal, 1 was steak pie and others were salmon. Never be back after the new owners taking over it is the worst place to eat out at in kirkcaldy.

We stopped in for lunch right at opening on a Monday and ordered a variety of traditional Fish and Chips, fried English Sausage, and fish cakes. Everything was excellent and the prices were reasonable. The Sausage was quite rich, so happy we shared. Tiny place so be prepared to wait for a table or take carry out and sit along the Market Steet or walk down to the water.

Quiet atmosphere, quick service, Madison served me, very professional and polite, Halloween so she had her spooky makeup on and looked amazing! Michelle was my chef and the half chicken was amazing, also hot honey cornbread was very good although quite sweet. Will definitely return again

Ask for steak medium, came well done. Sent it back, it was returned saying that the chef said that the thick end was medium the rest was over cooked!!! There was about an inch of it medium. Not happy with outcome albeit the part which was medium tasted good the rest dry and overcooked. Asked for dessert menu, after 15 minutes of waiting with not a server in sight found someone to ask for the bill. Overall very disappointed with the meal and service. Won’t be hurrying back any time soon 😩😩

Myself, my daughter and our Spaniel Opal visited Crail Harbour Gallery 2 days in a row for breakfast. What a wonderful welcoming place with stunning views. Extremely dog friendly - our Opal even got offered a treat. The food was amazing - fluffy pancakes I can still taste with the best bacon I have had in a while. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this fabulous wee gem!

Really nice Cafe by the beach and have visited over many years ..albeit occasionally. I can honestly say it has improved year on year. Saturday morning and its not long opened for business....a nice welcome from everyone ....service time of food really good. This next line is purely for the people who operate the cafe.... ...keep doing what you are doing it really works. Just a couple of little things .... when picking from the menu and looking for a vegetarian breakfast there are only a few items you can choose which fit this criteria ....the young lady serving was a little officious without being knowledgeable of the laminated menu card......followed by hand gestures (as if people were not looking at the menu properly) she got her information wrong by the way......Whereas the young man on the till ( won't use names but is a Uni student) ....was much more helpful and informative of combinations which worked for us. We aren't silly or petty but really appreciate good customer service and this was the only blip. We would normally leave a gratuity but on this occasion.....not. It won't stop us from continuing to come and enjoy the food and good service by nearly everyone. 🙏

Needed a great drink after climbing the hill from the harbour area. Quite a choice of different drinks. But we plumped for basic medium hot chocolate. It was quite nice. Short but acceptable delay in preparation. But as I say delicious hot chocolate.

Just keep driving past, nowadays always looks busy, loads of pensioners in for cake & a cuppa, but boy has it gone DOWNHILL You now order & pay at counter, though you have to wait to be seated, fewer staff too, tables & floors are littered with dishes & debri choice isn't as big, no butter on sandwiches/baguettes just filling, a few cakes available but no scones, don't offer afternoon tea. Glasses & cutlery were unpolished or checked before bring put on tables that aren't disinfected between customers & need a coat of varnish. Ceiling beams & lights are thick with dust. Obviously haven't heard cleanliness is next to godliness Not like it was a few years back 🙄
