Café Fresco in Fife

At 3.15pm today staff (particularly one male member)were hovering around our table, cleaning and brushing around adjacent vacant tables. Aa soon as they thought we were had finished our drinks, they were asking if they could take them away. Not a relaxed or enjoyable atmosphere to enjoy a coffee and cake. The advertised closing time for the cafe on a Saturday is 4.45pm. Not impressed at all.

Cheap and good food nothing more to ask

Had the roast beef on Sunday, was amazing. 2 thick slices of tender juicy beef with potatoes, vegetables and Yorkshire pudding. Hubby had plain scone which he really enjoyed, light and fluffy. Well done chef and staff.

Lots of tables, nice menu. Can be busy but only at certain times. Good menu lots to choose from.

Lovely cafe for a quick lunch, food was good with nice portions size. Staff very friendly and prices reasonable.

Good for a quick food fix.....wide range of hot and cold meals, cakes and biscuits. Can get very busy around lunchtime, so be prepared for a reasonable wait. Plenty of tables. Well worth a visit.

Best breakfast i have had for a long time 😋 wish I had taken some photos 📷 I had the 7 piece my wife the 4 and our son the pancakes 🥞 and bacon 🥓 with maple syrup, the haggis and black pudding is like half an inch thick, the whole thing with drinks £27 not bad will be back 😋

I hadn't realised that Cafe Fresco had its own review, so I added mine to the department store. Food was great with lots of choices, friendly staff, great prices. But can be very busy at times.

Good selection of hot,cold and snacks

Always love the scones! They go sooo quickly though so you have to be quick to get them. Bit expensive but worth it as good quality food

Stopped in for a coffee and a cake. Breakfast was still on and really busy. Tables were cleaned quickly and service was as quick as can be for the queue. Will go back for breakfast next time.

We only bought a slice of cake and 2 lattes on this occasion. There is, however, a lot more. This is a well stocked cafe. The cake was a good size and the lattes were very hot. We visited before 12 noon and managed to get a seat. It did, however, get very busy, so it might prove difficult to get a seat if in a big group. The cafe is on the upper floor, accessed by stairs or a lift. There are customer toilets opposite, which were very clean. Special mention to the server cleaning the tables it's always nice to see clean tables ready for the next customers.

Lukewarm. First day of my search for the best Sunday roast on the east coast of Fife Scotland. I struggled the last few weeks to find anywhere and by the time I did it was three pm, not this week, I picked the location before I left them house. I had soup here last week and I was in just after noon to try the roast. Service here is good, friendly, but the server missed the chance to fill the Yorkie with gravy. Roast on offer was beef, I got a decent portion, the plate didn't give much space for potatoes and veg and add the gravy had already been applied there was no option to cover them either. I was offered tea but opted for sparkling water, I think I'll make that part of the routine. Also I'm going to the ecology center after for tea and cake as my dessert. The lady in front of me commented on my meal, she wished she was having it. I said it was hard to find a roast on a Sunday in the area. Yeah, here and in hotels, was the reply, I'll use that info and select somewhere today for next week. Food was lukewarm. Hench only two stars. Could be much better without much effort. If I return I hope they make the most of what they offer, as this could be excellent without spending more.

Lentil soup rather watery today and needed lots of salt. The soup is usually very good but not so much today.

Great steak pie. Decent size portion and for smaller eaters you can get a half portion. Friendly staff.

The food was lovely. However the portion size was huge there was a lot of filling on my wrap and after half of it I was full.

I last had breakfast at Cafe Fresco in November last year and it was most enjoyable. My wife, daughter and I this morning at 1030 had breakfast and it was very disappointing. The toast was toasted on one side, the breakfast items, apart from the fried egg, were cold. The fried egg was under cooked. All in all a very poor show by the staff. It looks like the standard has slipped since lasr year. I hope they can make a comeback.

Over priced to say the least wish id just waited till I got home for food, saving grace for this place is the staff just a shame the food is poor quality and taste.

What a rip off this place is. £6.95 for macaroni and chips.......£6.95 for macaroni on its own.

Nice little cafe, always plenty of seating and staff are very quick and attentive. My only issue is the limited vegetarian options but too be fair i normally just go for a coffee
