Food was hot and had plenty of flavour. The haggis bob bons were outstanding.

Didn't really want a meal at this time but that was the only choice. Food was good but I only wanted a toastie and a bit of salad.

Boring menu 15 quid for scampi and chips both frozen cheep products the a thimbles worth of peas and tartar sauce.... shocking quality all in all and really expensive for what it is

Twice recently we have visited for lunch, great meal and great service and not rushed out the door.

I have been very very ill after visiting this establishment, I have not been far from the toilet since eating here. The service was great everything seemed fine but I am now not very well whatsoever .

Fantastic food here. Kinda miss the old "spit and sawdust" vibe the place had before the new owners took over but I can't deny that the current setup is an upgrade

Hello We were in today. Main courses were great. Plenty to eat. Took a doggy bag for what we left. Our dogs love fish & chips. I had the apple crumble. My only complaint was that the little 🤏 jug of custard isn't enough. Needs to be at least 2 of them. Also, some cinnamon in it would just be terrific as it was a bit bland. Otherwise we enjoyed it. Wish you would bring back Haddock Pal and Cullen Skink.

Slightly reduced menu but all the favourites are there, burgers are superb but to be fair all of the food is brilliant

Thought we would pop in for a quenching beer as it was a nice warm day. Still waiting for that beer as no one would attempt to serve me as I was obviously wearing an Invisibility suit. I walked out quietly in disgust.

Bone in chicken burger nearly chocked on it , bun all soggy , fell to bits while trying to eat it , even though I cut in half to make it easier to eat , defo not worth the money , for either dish we had we won't be returning .

Stopped in for family dinner on a Sunday. Table side service with solid fish and chips. Tried the Haggis bon bons for an app. Would def visit again.

Waited an hour for food, portions, accompaniments were poor ( veg not cooked properly still very crunchy, steak pie was stew in a metal dish with a pastry lid that didnt reach the sides of the dish ! looked like a piece of pastry stuck on top of dish , suasages and mash dish , presentation and portion would have embarrassed even the basic cooks). Compared to last visit, waiting staff were embarrassed and chose to ignore us, finally when food arrived we complained and where told we would recieve 20% off the bill this didnt happen, as a regular this is a poor reflection on my previous visits.

Am not from the area but pub was near my hotel. Overall pub and atmosphere seemed good on arrival. My wife had a 17 quid, salmon fillet which although tasty, was not substantial enough to justify the price. Few olives and a few bits of feta thrown around the plate. My meal arrived in a box instead of a plate. A thimble of warm coleslaw. (No kidding, a thimble and warm) 20 skinny fries. I counted them. Lukewarm at best.(wife took half to top her meal up) chicken burger dry and tepid. No salad or other accompaniments. I only ate most of it as I was starving and not willing to wait the same amount of time to get a replacement as I did the original. Service very poor, not just for us noticed other table having to get their own cutlery etc after meal was brought to them. Overall would not reccomend. Oh and stopped at Macdonalds on way home. Very nice.

Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, yes... but the kindness of the manager and staff really impressed me. As an individual woth dietary restrictions and traveling with a group, I was so pleased with how accommodating they were with the menu. They took incredible care of our group of 39 and we had a wonderful time. Check out this venue when in the area; for the sports on the television, the delicious food, the fun vibe, and the hospitality.

The service is slow, always seems to be a staffing problem. The staff that are there are friendly and do there best.

Food was ok. Serve was very slow 1hr 15 before we got starters after asking. Portions are smaller then expected. The salmon was almost the same size as a beef tomato slice!

Shocking food option's for lactose Intolrant. Website menu is different to the one you get so less option's. Asked for the aubergine and chickpea curry. I got large portion of rice, naan and chickpeas is a curry sauce, replacement wasn't much better but at least attempted to fix. Kerry was very nice and helpful. I won't eat there again

The wait for our meal was roughly 15 mins but it was worth it as it was piping hot and delicious. Nice set out tables, massive dining area. Lots of toilets and a big bar. Staff attentive.

We are on holiday from America and enjoyed feasting at the Elizabethan two nights in a row. The food was lovely and the customer service was excellent!! I had the steak pie yesterday and the chicken burger tonight! Both cooked to perfection!! My wife had the chicken pie yesterday and the chicken tikka masala tonight. She enjoyed the food as well - lots of flavor!! Of course the Tennents beer was cold and refreshing. Enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant! 😀👍

We went for lunch. Once seated we discovered a vastly reduced menu from previous one on website. On commenting we were then and only then given the “specials” menu 2 of which were not available. Once we had all chosen and started to order we were told of several things in the already very small menu were unavailable - 3 of our group ended up with baked potato’s 1 which was almost burnt and 2 under done. Someone on our table ordered a burger without cheeses on eating it she discovered cheese had been added and mostly removed - not good for allergies- very little apology offered. Overall very disappointed today and don’t expect to be back. This is the 3rd time it’s been a disappointment the last 2 having limited menu items available and forgetting to put our order through. So over all I’d suggest going somewhere else

This was our worst experience ever waited over an hour for food to come when it came the steak sandwich that my wife and myself ordered came with STONE COLD STEAK on warm bread a bout of illness if ever there was one NEVER EVER use or recommend this place

Service was slower than usual but it was exceptionally busy. Won’t put me off of going back though as service is usually good.

Stated opening times on website for Thur night are 12-11pm. But thats not exactly the case. Walked 15 mins from the town center in the rain last night, arrived 21:35, turned away, last orders had been called. Either stay open as advertised or alter the hours on your website, punters don't like unreliability! Will think twice before coming out again at night, why would I risk being turned away and wasting time?

Overall Thoughts: in Dunfermline Scotland for a High School Field Trip. Obviously as an American we LOVE food! We had some time before we returned to Edinburgh and needed some dinner. We used to love it here and we live within walking distance so it's our local however we unfortunately won't be back. Twice now we've arrived and been refused food for different reasons, tonight there were new chefs working so they were only honouring bookings. Tonight the place was empty, I'd have thought they could have taken a walk in of 2. I understand the hospitality industry is seriously struggling for staff but unfortunately we won't risk being turned away again and won't be back.

We went first time there and Food was very tasty and good portion. Service time was a bit slow. The staff was very friendly and accommodate us with everything.

Came for a delicious lunch with family. It was a busy weekend day, but even so the service was excellent. Our servers were very attentive, and our glasses were never empty for too long. The food was top quality, a really cool menu which was all delicious. The haggis spring rolls were a particular highlight! There are plenty of screens around to watch any sport that might be on too, and a very good selection of on draught beers to be had. Looking forward to returning soon.

Really nice pub. Nice on the inside, lots of tables well spaced out, fast service. The food was great, comparable pricing to standard pub grub nowadays but actually warrants that price tag due to generous portions, a wide ranging menu and great tasting food. One of the only places I have been to eat at recently that I have left feeling satisfied and felt was deserving of the total cost. We will be back.

Food is very good, but service is slower than slow

As a large party of 15, we were looked after attentively. The service was 💯. The food was amazing, and large portions. Everyone in the party enjoyed their food and said they would return soon. In particular I would recommend the Lizzy Burger, Steak pie and Balmoral Chicken. Many thanks to all the staff.

I always come here with my family for pre match drinks before the local football derby game. Never had any food from here, hence the"no ratings", but the bar staff coped extremely well given the amount of football fans that were in there. So kudos to them 👏👏👏👏

Pints severed in plastic cups (which weren’t pint size) beer prices inflated today due to a sporting event on locally. Only 3 bar staff on. Two of which openly abusing customers. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Not a friendly pub. Definitely will not be back in that dump. Look at the food and service reviews from others. This was not a one off occurrence. No wonder the pub trade is failing. I will be pursuing a complaint with the brewery. Never again.

Food was fine when it eventually came! Two hours wasted waiting on getting served a pre booked meal. Tables not cleared no apologies for poor service - won’t be going back

Went at 2pm to have dinner come out at 5pm. Still feeling hungry, food was rubbish and waiting for our meal was terrible 😫 we seat for 3 hrs just waiting in total, to be honest I don't think I will be back

better hope you aren't young and disabled as you get told multiple times to move your car even though you are clearly displaying a blue badge, cheers guys ruined my night 👍

Swevice wasn't the greatest only one person taking order on Thursday 22nd December, put extra payments on till for drinks when we didn't get but end up taking it off person served us was nice enough, and sorted out the issues Xmas period maybe there should be more stuff on. Food was great. Value for money

I went there for a funeral tea so a sad occasion, but the staff were lovely. They put out a nice spread, delicious. Could not have asked for better.

Came as a group of 9 on a relatively quiet night. Cannot fault the staff behind the bar, very friendly. The food took a bit long to come but was definitely worth the wait. I had a steak, cooked to absolute perfection. The chocolate fudge cake for dessert was very tasty too. Oh and the onion rings were superb

Waited longer than expected for food. Well worth the wait, good quality food served.

Service so slow- we had to leave without eating. Arrived at 5.45pm, drinks order taken no problem. Needed to prompt staff at 6.15pm that we hadn’t ordered food yet and informed them we needed to leave by 7.15pm for theatre show. Waited until 7.05pm, 50minutes after ordering, then gave up and cancelled the food. Got charged for drinks and no apologies given. It was a hungry theatre trip for us.

We booked a table for dinner and a long overdue catch up I arrived a little early, so I had couple pre dinner pints at the bar. The staff are very friendly and it was a cosy relaxed atmosphere. The food was amazing, those tempura prawns were really good and the cheesecake of the day was baileys and salt caramel, lovely. After our meal we enjoyed a few more drinks at the bar, watching the remainder of the football on the big screen. We had a brilliant night and we will definitely be back

Just had lunch here. I had the, er, 'Mountain' (molehill, more like) veggie burger. A tiny pate - no sign of veg in it - like similar ' burgers' I've seen in Iceland - portion of chips - £12! Definitely won't be going back.

Really friendly staff and good food Just been back today (1/5/22) and the above still stands. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful over little mix ups with steak sauces and resolved the problem very quickly. We had 2 roast dinners, 2 steaks and a miso pork. All were done exactly as desired and each was delicious. Not the cheapest you could find but definitely not overpriced considering the quality. Been back today (6/10/23) and the menu has changed but the food and service are still very good. Portions are good too.

We ordered two steak sirloins , the most expensive one to make sure they were good, both were very hard to cut, chewing , full of nerves or tendons so difficult to cut and eat. Got the wrong knife so asked for a steak knife but still hard to cut. We left them there, what a shame. Chips were the frozen one. Honestly a bit disappointed as we paid but couldn't eat the dinner. I think it's just a pub good for drinks or average low quality meal. And it was not cheap so no sense. Waiters not really interesting on what they were doing. They seem there just waiting to finish the day. Seems nice from outside but inside nothing special in terms of atmosphere. We will no go back... Sorry

Nice food, friendly and helpful staff, reasonably priced too.

Looks nice and feels cosy, but service and food has dropped in quality significantly in the last few years. Menu items haven't changed but the quality and presentation are disappointing caricatures of their former delivery. Shame prices have remained the same and increased if anything. Our server forgot about us and they also delivered half the order after the rest had been on table for about ten twenty minutes. Menu does not offer any details on what food is and what you will be getting when ordered.

Dropped in for a quick pint and a snack and we were not disappointed!!! Beer was cold and crisp, served with a smile by a very polite and helpful lass. Food was proper lush!! Got a couple of things to share and we left stuffed food was to a high standard and very tasty Indeed. Will definitely back and will tell everyone about it! Xxx

The quality of our dinner was extremely high i had the chicken caesar salad and superb we have been several times now so also consistently good.

Pleasantly surprised. Had a couple of the tapas dishes and my partner had the Caesar salad, the food was delicious, lovely calm and cozy interior but also lively.

Went for meal with my partner and dog as good that you are dog friendly but our meals were bad. Chicken pie was disgusting and the curry was tasteless and portion sizes were small. Waited a while to get our meals although it wasnt busy.I got aprox £7 off the bill after saying how bad the meal was but it wasnt even worth the £25 i had to pay for 2 mains. Very Very dissapointed.

Nice pub, food was really good... my only complaint is they allow dogs... was a little off putting, a bit smelly haha and if you have allergies not great.

Food was really good! Staff were really friendly and service was quick even though we were told it was busy and might be a little slow. The scampi and chips ratio was a bit off and the steak pie was a bit runny but both still tasted amazing and we were satisfied :)

Painfully average and therefore very overpred. “Salt and chilli chips were just chips with sweet chilli sauce dumped on them, not even any salt. Pie and (microwave) mash was average, pastry was lacking. Mac and cheese was again tasteless. Panko brie was only thing worth talking about. Waste of £48.

Good food, big portions. It is dog friendly and staff make pets very welcome. Large, airy dining area with lovely patio and marquee for outdoor dining. Car park gets full quickly and can, at times, be difficult to manoeuvre.

Decent range of beers but didn't eat. Pleasant and helpful staff.

Really enjoyed our meal but due to the place being busy of Fathers day, service was slow. Would definitely come back!

Went for lunch before going food shopping. Quick to get seated and drinks order taken. Went for the fish and chips, which was really good, crispy batter and fish cooked perfectly. 3 scottish tap for £11.95 available aswell as a standard menu. Service was good and food came quickly. Will go back

We came here on a staff day out. Staff were absolutely brilliant. Especially the young lassie (forget her name) but she's only 16 and is such a credit to them. We had some drinks, all were great. Food was fab. Nice atmosphere. Not a place I'd go to all the time but definitely had a great time and the food was lovely.

Friendly local pub, plenty of seating and good drinks selection. Not one if you're into real ale, but I don't think that's the market for this pub. Enjoyed it.
