Great location on the Old Course. Beautiful modern terrace on the top floor with stunning views across the fairways to the sea. So wanted to like this place but were disappointed. Food was standard golfing fare - steaks and lobster - OK but nothing special . Wine list reasonable for price and choice. What lets the place down is the lack of management oversight. Tables with broken legs, jet lagged golfers asleep in the lobby, incredibly noisy ambience all overseen by a well meaning but overwhelmed serving staff. Not what you expect when paying $400 for a meal for two. Dinner took three and a half hours. We had to track down staff to order wine, coffee and get the check. Could be a good dining alternative to the Old Course Hotel but its let down badly by the service. Seems its owned by one of those absentee investment companies and it shows .

This was more than disappointing . The afternoon Tea has been moved from the downstairs restaurant to upstairs. There was no view as the people standing on the balcony meant that one only saw the back of people. The was n Earl Grey Tea, though on the Menu and no alternative milk for my granddaughter who is lactose intolerant. The cake was awful and only the scones were pleasant to eat. To top it all the card machine did not work. Will not be back for anything

First trip back following the pandemic. The Hotel has been restyled, but has kept its previous charm and quality. Wonderful meal in their Sky restaurant. Staff were so helpful and genuine. Room was comfortable. Well worth a visit. 10/10.

Checked into hotel and all was great no issues. Upon coming back into hotel from a local wedding was told full room service was available, called reception and was told only toast with butter and toast with cheese was available as kitchen oven was being cleaned. This has been really disappointing after being told full service was available and paying nearly £270 was not worth it given what was on offer. Really disappointing is an understatement

¡Mi consejo evita a toda costa! ! ! ! ! La hamburguesa de P. estaba muy seca, sin sabor, sin cebollas como se describe y se sirvió con un lado de papas fritas para un total de 15. . . ¡arrancar! ! ! !

We used our stay of two nights as a belated celebration for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary so decided to treat ourselves to the 5 course Taster Menu on our first evening and what a treat! Quality ingredients executed with 5* finesse all overlooking the iconic 18th on the Old Course, wow! The following evening we selected off the A la carte menu choosing our favourites from the previous night, with the addition of the chef's special fillet steak for myself, exquisite! The staff were attentive and personable adding beautifully to the whole experience.

Staff were friendly and polite but the food was just not up to standard! We both ordered steak and both came out over cooked. Mines was chewy and full of fat. I noticed the table beside us sent their steaks back. Surely a steak restaurant should know how to cook a medium rare steak? For the same price we had a far superior steak in Miller and Carter the week before. The side of prawns and scallops was lovely. The wine waiter only came once to top up the glasses. Not what I’d expect from this type of restaurant. I wouldn’t go back Unfortunately.

We were staying at the hotel on a DB&B deal, and had booked in here for our meal. William, the food and beverage manager, phoned us prior to our arrival to book us in and he even e-mailed us sample menus, a lovely touch. Restaurant is lovely, with some tables overlooking the golf course. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. We ate from the 3 course set menu, there was enough choice for each course, We opted for the soup and the surf and turf caesar salad to start, followed by the mushroom risotto and the hake, then finished off with a lovely refreshing dessert. Meal was lovely and portion sizes just right for a 3 course meal. Good selection of wine too, some at reasonable prices. Service throughout our meal was excellent, all staff very friendly and attentive. All in All a lovely meal and evening.

We were given an overnight stay at the Rusacks Hotel as a Christmas gift.We chose the fixed price menu for dinner and enjoyed an excellent three course meal. Breakfast the next morning was also excellent - being able to choose from a wide variety of cereals, fruit etc as well as a substantial cooked breakfast. Our table looked out over the golf course and it was great to see the Swilkin bridge after so many years of watching it on television. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. The only drawback to our visit was the heating in our room which became excessively hot. There was no way to turn down the heating or even to open the window. Maintenance staff tried to turn off the heating without success - eventually providing a fan which did little to help. The result was a very uncomfortable night during which my wife and I had little or no sleep.Lewis, the member of staff on duty at reception, apologised profusely for this and advised that the hotel has recently been taken over by another company and all the rooms are scheduled for upgrade. The heating problem was the only reason we didn't give a five star rating and it wouldn't put us off visiting again - providing the problem is resolved!

Family of four stayed at the hotel for a weekend and had both breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. At each time the food was at a very high quality. As the place did not seem very busy, the service was very quick and attentive - although perhaps a bit young/ inexperienced. The breakfast had a large buffet with pastries and fresh fruit etching as well as serving a perfectly made proper Scottish breakfast! For dinner we both had fish and steaks. Everything was perfectly made and the staff was very attentive to our requirements. The servings vere not the biggest we've ever seen, but it was easy to just order so extra sides from the menu, which the staff quickly brought to us. All in all a 5-star experience and we will definitely be back next time we are in St Andrews

We were staying in the hotel and had booked in to here for our dinner. As advertised, we were really looking forward to some ‘surf n turf’. However, when we got there there was only one steak dish on the menu which was a sirloin and there was no fish to accompany this. We ended up opting for the set menu due to this which was quite a basic menu. For starters we had haggis bon bons and the feta, beetroot and quinoa salad. On the salad, there was no quinoa at all. Disappointing given it’s one of the main ingredients advertised on the menu. For mains we ordered haddock fish and chips and the roast chicken breast. The chicken and mashed potatoes were very dry and the dish had little to no jus at all. The batter on the fish was very soggy at the bottom and the chips were extremely undercooked. The service was ok, but we did wait a while for our food and we weren’t asked once during our main meal if everything was ok. When our plates were eventually cleared from the table we did raise our issues with the staff and they kindly waived the charges for our bottle of wine. This was a nice gesture but we would have much preferred a good meal. All in all, not a great dining experience and wouldn’t return.

Went for steak night but extremely disappointed. Asked for medium steak but was more rare.Few soggy chips, hard peas and two underdone soggy onion rings. No salad as advertsed. Food was also cold. Asked for a prosecco and was told had no cold ones . Was given small one off top shelf behind bar but when I opened it it was completely flat and very yellow so I think it must have been on the shelf a long while! Lady opened big bottle which again came from top shelf so was not cold but was bubbly. Can't believe there was no bottles in wine fridge. Sticky toffee pudding was good though. Seeing as there was just one other couple in the restaurant there really was no excuse for steak meal being so poor as kitchen not rushed. Won't be rushing back!!!

Arranged to meet friends here for a lunch and a catch up. This is a very popular visit with very pleasant surroundings through a very large conservatory contributing to a very well lit area. There are a number of tables within the conservatory and your extensive menu is on the table. There are hot and cold food choices ordered at the server and brought to your table. We opted for chicken and rice soup and tomato and vegetable soup. To accompany the soup we ordered cheese and onion toasties and cheese and ham. We had carrot cake put aside for later that was the last of it. The chicken soup had a distinct homemade stock flavour with generous amounts of chicken through the rice and veg. The toasties came with crisps and side salad and coleslaw on the side. They were very well cooked with a generous filling. Finally the piece de resistance the home baking carrot cake came bursting with flavour very moist and topped with a very sweet icing. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone and will definitely be back.
