We were warmly welcomed to the restaurant and the service we received was excellent. We didn't feel like having a big lunch so were going to have the soup, the waiter asked if we liked Indian cuisine to which we all said yes and he said we could have a small portion of items on the menu. So we did, the waiter asked if we liked spicy and tailored our order to suit our preferences. The food was presented well and was the best tikka masala I've had. I can't fault it and would highly recommend. Thank you.

One of the few places that serves high tea. Delicious food and excellent service! Highly recommended! My only suggestion is that they should serve it on Saturdays too.

Well done Dal and his very energetic young team who produced a lovely Thai buffet this evening. The food was excellent, so much choice, staff friendly as always and buffet resupplied regularly due to the numbers attending. Need to look out for the next themed one, great value for money. Keep it going, well done.

Bit of a let down, lasagne was inedible, tirimisu terrible, appetisers came after our main course, wine list which we found out after ordering a bottle and being served is out of date, waiter dropped the bottle of wine on the table luckily it wasn't open. Had to go to the bar after a 20 minutes wait to ask for menu, not a great service, won't hurry back.

I went here with my partner after seeing some lovely photos of food online. We were staying at The Bay Hotel, just up the road from Kingswood (Where Tall Trees restaurant is located). We called up and booked ahead with no issues at all. When booking ahead I confirmed that the restaurant could cater for Gluten Free and they assured me that everything would be okay. When we arrived we were greeted by a gentleman called Mark, who seated us at our table. Mark had good knowledge of Gluten free food and was able to assist me in choosing from the menu. He explained that the restaurant used gluten free breadcrumbs for the batter on my fish and that the chips were fried in a separate fryer to anything else. The food was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Would definitely recommend if you have any allergies.

Went for a Saturday lunch; The two-course meal was very reasonable, and tasted very good. The desserts, in particular, were amazing.

I had never been to the Kingswood Hotel before despite having been over to Fife on very many occasions. Our friend who we were visiting suggested it. You certainly cannot fault its view over the River Forth towards Edinburgh and Arthurs Seat. The Sunday weather when we were there was moody with a ribbon of mist across the water giving the view an ethereal quality. We were warmly welcomed and had booked beforehand but it wasnt too busy There was a broad choice from the carvery and the a la carte menu. We selected the carvery and were more than happy with the starters and mains. The options would suit all tastes and were more than filling. Nothing was outstanding but it was good ordinary fare, left one feeling replete and good value for money. The view makes it special. I cannot fault the service and friendliness from the staff

We stayed at the Hotel and had excellent breakfasts and an amazing High Tea (highly recommended) and although one of our party was vegan - he was well catered for too. Their roast beef was the finest I've ever had and their teeny tiny cakes were fabulous and of course being so small, we could try different ones Mmmm. Amazing chef !!

This restaurant came highly recommended so myself & a few friends decided to try it for lunch. First impressions were good as the downstairs deco in the hotel was fresh & clean. Service was slow in that we had to wait 50 minutes between arrival & being served with our starters. This wasn't a huge issue for us as we were happily chatting but it was a long time in a restaurant which wasn't busy. With the exception of one younger lad the service wasn't very friendly, meals were brought without a word One of our party asked for a glass of water & it would have been helpful for the waiter to ask if anyone else wanted some. When I asked later for a glass none was brought. As for the food itself, the set lunch was decent but not memorable. However would be prepared to try it again as this was maybe an off day. As an aside the hotel has a lovely little shop with decent prices.

My wife had just arrived from California and on the journey back to the East Neuk we decided to stop. I had a recollection of coming to the Kingswood for a wedding several years earlier and thought it would be nice. The grounds and premises are nice and we were served by a very polite local young man but the food was about the worst I have had in the UK since the 1980's. We ordered steak pie, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables and fish and chips. The fish was good but it is always disappointing to receive French Fries instead of real chips. The pie had no salt or pepper in it and was essentially stew with a layer of choux pastry on the side. The roast potatoes were under done in the middle and "seasonal vegetables" were soft boiked carrots and tinned peas. Very limited menu with nothing beyond pub food but none of it done particularly well and no interesting ales or lagers. I would not recommend it. Unfortunately Burntisland is a Tennents Lager type of town and there is little local incentive for this place to improve as there is little local desire to try new things and it still stands out among local competiton.

Staying on business at the Kingswood, I had dinner at Tall Tress Restaurant seated at a table with a view across the pretty garden over to the beach. I had a very warm welcome by friendly staff and enjoyed an imaginative starter and main course of sea bass with beetroot crème freche and asparagus. Travelling alone I was made to feel very comfortable with attentive staff and first class service.

I have been here many times now but this has been my longest stay in one visit. I have always been impressed with the food served here. The portions are generous and very tasty. The window seats offer a nice view towards Edinburgh too. Staff friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit either for a passing meal, or to stay over in their comfortable rooms.
