Excellent pub meal with excellent service

Dog Friendly! AMAZING Food and good prices and friendly staff! 🐕 🐕 were even offered a bowl of water and we were made to feel welcome. Definitely a must visit if you are in the area. We will come again!

Some staff very friendly others grim. Vegan ice cream foul. All other food great.

We arrived just after it opened on a Sunday. It was freezing 🥶 so no option but to eat with jacket's on. Food was reasonably priced and average. No atmosphere but there wasn't many people there at the time.

Staff lovely, food nice, booze reasonable prices

There was 12 of us in the party, which was not a problem, 7 adults and 5 children. Tables had been put together for us and we all had a fantastic meal. Food was delicious with not a single complaint from anyone. Staff was very friendly and attentive, with nothing being a bother. I've been before, just 2 of us but will be back in future with the family again. Thanks for a birthday to remember

We had Friday offer, fish and chips and a drink fir £11. Lovely batter and nice fish. Wine a d beer very good. Nice staff. Would go back.

Great environment. Very competent and lovely staff who are very friendly and welcoming. Food is great. And the only rat you'll see is my little rat (dog) venturing the premises. They are a dog friendly pub.

Great place and helpful staff. Food is good quality as well. It is a pub so can get a bit loud but most of the day really excellent for a quick family meal.

Place to go if you want to see massive rats run about your feet in the garden. Toilets vile. No atmosphere, sad excuse for a manager had coke eyes and white powder under its nose. Honestly travel 100yards up the road for a Stephens. Review 9/6/24

Could not fault this establishment. As a regular who goes in quite often. The food is always top notch. Vegetarian options are available and if your chosen option has run out staff are able to facilate something similar and have done in the past. The staff are very competent and friendly (nicest staff I've encountered in a pub). A comfortable establishment that is dog friendly so lots of wonderful little furry faces to welcome you. And they all know how to pour a pint.

We were a walk in of 8 and were greeted by a very friendly young man with a lovely smile, he also was the chef, food was very good We were visiting family

Really wanted to like this place as we live round the corner. However came in for food for the first time and were really disappointed, no greeting on arrival, had to go and ask for menus, went to bar to order and husband said it took ages as the lady was doing things on the till and didn’t acknowledge him, even when he said excuse me twice, was pretty empty so you’d think service would be fast, however very long wait for food, then the wrong food came out, don’t know how you can get a chicken tikka masala mixed up with a steak pie…. Then had to wait for food again, husbands pie had obviously been reheated and gone soggy, chicken tikka masala wasn’t very warm, ended up leaving the chicken as wasn’t sure it was piping hot. Gave us 3 knives and one fork and it was fluffy so had to ask for fresh cutlery. Wouldn’t come back, staff didn’t seem very cheery or helpful either.

Went out for dinner with a friend . Cup of tea fish and chips and sticky toffee pudding and custard . Food was lovely . There was a newspaper on our plates with food on top was very off putting tbh . And dirty mug for tea had to send it back to then get another dirty mug ! Never the less food was alright . Would I be back again . Probably not !

This is the second time we have tried this place and we will not be back. First all we asked for menus and the woman service said she was just going to get them and then never returned. Secondly after having to go up to the bar to order food we were told they didn’t have half of the menu specifically for one of our vegetarian members of the family. The place was cold and all over unwelcoming. We paid for drinks, left and headed to a much more preferred local pub.

Absolute waste of time. No menus, no cutlery, 2nd visit in 4 weeks with family and what a disappointment. Had to find menus online as waitress said they had nine, ordered atvtbe bar, 10 mins later told that Mac and Cheese was sold out, asked what vegetarian alternatives were available and told we have a big book of allergens if you want a look!!!. Ordered grlic mushrooms instead, guess what....sold out. Paid for drinks and left, won't be back, Family of 5 on this occasion. Waste of a Sunday evening

Went here today with family for food n drink, food was over cooked to the point some of my party could not eat it! . On a plus side plenty of choice of beers with sport on TVs. Won’t eat here again, but will pop in for pint or six 🍺

Lovely country style pub, enjoyed the wee courie in room, and the mish mash decor gave it an old pub feel. Mainly families and couples in, and although we didn't have food it looked good on the other tables and we are looking forward to going back to dine. The manageress was smiley, chatty and informative, perhaps it wouldn't hurt to pass this on to some of the other staff members who looked like they wanted to be anywhere else. Child and pet friendly which gave it a homely kinda vibe. A very enjoyable couple of hours spent and very reasonable prices. The cheap cocktail and shots menu tells me this pub gets lively at nights.

Had a great night at the rumbling well pub. The bar staff was front off house with Rebecca running the ship as smoothly as possible. Thank you all for a great night with good food. Making sure I left me car in the car park for a safe trip home in a taxi English John x

I will not be back. No fish then no lasagne. “real chips” were frozen chips. “Award winning” steak pie was to me no more than a bought one from a freezer shop. Vegetables again from freezer shop. Sat for a time in the cold pub awaiting our meal. Lastly their phone is not answered, rung repeatedly but no answer.

Came in for a family lunch. Good food and a lovely waitress. Will be back.

This, I discovered, is technically my new local (in terms of nearest to where I now live.) I thought I'd give it a try as they were advertising Sky Sports (there was a premier league match on that night) and also pints of Fosters Lager on sale on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday at the very reasonable price of £3.00 each, all day. There was also an interesting menu available so I decided to try something I had personally not had before, namely Balmoral Chicken, served with smoked streaky Bacon, Haggis and a creamy pepper sauce with the obligatory Chips and Garden Peas on the side (all for £9.99). My meal did not take too long to arrive, it was piping hot and very well presented. I tucked in and discovered how good my perception had been to select this dish, it was delicious and was soon finished. All in all it was a fantastic experience and I look forward to many more visits, sampling some of the other dishes on the menu. Top class & highly recommended.

Arrived just after 12 waited a while to be served chose the shicken kebab & roast chicken both a huge disappointment bland no presentation roast chicken meant to have a flavoured glaze non existent Would not return for food 😞

My wife and I visited for lunch. We had a selection of the small plates and found them to be lovely. I have only awarded three stars for atmosphere as it was lunchtime and very quiet. The waitress/barmaid was very nice and friendly.

We popped in for lunch, first to arrive. The pub soon filled up and I can see why! I tried the shicken tikka flatbread and was not disappointed. We all enjoyed our meals very much and the service was excellent.

Stop for a bite to eat whilst travelling South. Staff could not be more helpful. Clean, tidy pub. Loads of reserved tables, so turn up early. The burger was Devine. The gammon steak was a proper juicy one. If in the area again will most definitely pop in.

First time in this bar for a while. Worth the wait, food and service excellent

Been a couple of times and though service was usually slow the food and prices in general were good. However on our recent visit the service was terrible together with many of the items on the menu being unavailable. Only two other tables seated on the day but waited nearly an hour for our food. This also came in dribs and drabs with the kids being served about 15 mins before the adults. This also appeared to be happening at the other tables.. Little assistance or apology from the solitary waitress who seemed a little overwhelmed by it all. All our drinks were consumed before the food with no offer of a top up to compensate for the delay. Sorry but won't be back

Hadn’t been before but was very impressed with quality of food. This is a pub restaurant but there are tables in quieter area which is where we were. Staff very friendly and polite. Food delicious and well priced. Will be back again

Stopped in here on Wednesday 7th June and got to say was possibly the worst meal ever, ordered the gammon with eggs and chips. The egg was like rubber, a bacon rasher is probably thicker than the gammon, which was so burnt, you could not even consider eating it. Horrible meal to say the least. Would NOT recommend

Dropped in today on an exploration of local area I am moving to soon. We went for selection of small plates, chips and then mega puddings, all delicious. Fabby new menu which needs more investigation so we will be back. Staff were lovely and friendly, service good. Not sure heavy metal music was appropriate for Sunday lunch but wasn't intrusive. Looking forward to spending time with you guys. Sorry forgot to take photos. 😅

Service was dreadful. Ordered drinks then waited for someone to take our food order, eventually had to order at bar. Girl at bar was very rude refused to believe the order was off the menu until shown the menu. We then waited for 40 mins, nothing! We asked one of the girls what had happened to food. She never returned with response. Now an hour later, we asked again. Were told 5 mins. So after 15 we gave up and left. However the drinks bill that we had been charged for at bar already. ..a whole 10 pounds! We were told we had not payed, after being invisible to all staff for over an hour we were then confronted by the manager who told us it was our fault for not asking shouted at us about the bar bill and was so rude and aggressive I genuinely thought he was going to turn violent. The worst service and customer experience I have ever had.

Waited ages to be greeted at table, given wrong menu. Placed under a speaker blasting out head banging music. Was really loud and not suitable. Meal arrived eventually. So disappointing. Steak pie was a pukka microwaved pie, served with a side of granual gravy!! Gammon was burnt by being cooked on a dirty plancha or pan, peas were stone cold. Pizza was a frozen microwaved pizza. Mixed fish platter was disgusting, all tasted of oil that needed cleaned Asked for a desert menu, finally got them, only to be forgotten about by waitress. Gave up, left!! Bad service, bad food, bad choice for lunch!!

Phoned twice to book a table for Mothers day only to be told to call back on both occasions as they were too busy. It would have been good customer service if you had taken my number and called me back or take two minutes to check your bookings. A customer on the phone should be just as valued as one standing in front of you and in this case you have lost my future business.

Food was ok .had to wait a bit for the food the staff member apologised and was helpful

Popped in on a weeknight for a pizza and mac n cheese with the wife. Staff friendly and food very decent.

Beautiful food,family friendly, relaxed atmosphere

Disgrace of a place waited over an hour for our main and left before it came took that long,family of 9 next to us waited 2 hours on their food for average pub grub. Staff walking about telling people they were hanging because of being out the night before and the chef supervisor who ever he was had to have been the rudest person ever when I told him I just wanted to pay for my drinks and starter and leave as food took too long avoid at all cost not friendly not organised never be back and would never recommend

The staff are really friendly and seriously hard working, has a great atmosphere. They allow dogs 🐕. They also have food available and parking

Great pub to meet for a bleather.

Used to come here at least once a week for food a couple of years ago and got engaged here. Haven't been since we moved away but wife wanted to go today for her birthday. 4 of us in the group and we were the only people in for food so thought we'd get a good meal. How wrong I was! Wife's hunter's chicken looked awful and was told and she asked the waitress could she get a warm one please. I tried my gammon and it was cold too. Thought I'd say to the waitress when she came out of the kitchen. To my surprise she walked out with my wife's original meal and said that should be warm now. As the waitress had only been away for a minute it was clear it had been heated in the microwave and not a fresh meal. Had to send that back as if we'd wanted a microwave meal we could've had that at home and not pay bar food prices. Part of my mother in laws dinner was cold and our daughter ordered the battered chunky chicken bites but was given Southern fried chicken houjons which she can't eat. No wonder the place always seems to be empty now if that's what the food is like when it's not busy and the chef only has to get 4 mains correct. Would never have had this problem when the last owner had it. Would've given the review 0 stars if it was an option. Wasted afternoon and birthday ruined for my wife.

We booked for a family meal on Christmas Eve due to the excellent reviews. I had initially avoided it for a while after they cancelled our table on Father’s Day at very short notice. Sadly, we had quite a number of issues. The main being that we had quite a considerable wait for our food. When we questioned a member of staff (who turned out to be the manager) she went to check and came back to say 10 more minutes because the kitchen was so busy due to a table of 12 being served. The wait was longer than 10 mins. Additional drinks we ordered did not arrive. When the food arrived, the children’s portion itself was good sized - 2 decent sides but only 9 pieces of penne pasta which was the main part my son would eat. We only ordered the sides as it was part of the meal deal. When we questioned the size, the Manager appeared unhappy but did take it away and added a small amount more. One of our meals was wrong but we took it to avoid further delay. The chips we had ordered to go with a main meal arrived after the main was finished. The food itself was actually very nice. When the children’s ice lolly’s were served, 1 had clearly melted and had been refrozen. Again this was replaced but we were made to feel wrong for raising it. The manager did take the wrong meal off the bill which was appreciated but how our concerns were handled was not satisfactory. I’ve worked in the hospitality industry and have a lot of patience when staff are busy (especially at Christmas) and of course mistakes can be made. The issue here was being made to feel like we were wrong for raising the concerns and then how it was handled following this. My husband left a review on their social media page after not getting very far resolving the issues at the pub. The owner of the pub has responded to this in a very unprofessional manner by repeatedly sharing the post on social media and making incorrect comments about the situation when he was not even present. We appeared to have come to a resolution, however the owner has again reposted our review today on Christmas Day with more factually incorrect information. We are disappointed that we had to experience the difficulties on what should have been a happy family Christmas meal out and then had to deal with the upset of a pub owner’s poor conduct on social media. As a pub owner, they should be able to take the bad comments with the good and not see a need to personally attack their customers to cover the errors. Perhaps if there was enough staff to cover the number of tables booked in, there would not have been an issue. I usually cringe at the thought of complaining/giving a bad review having been in their shoes but would hate another family to be treated as we have by this establishment.

Went to the rumblingwell for a Sunday lunch to celebrate getting a promotion in work and what a shambles! Arrived at 2 and was told it would be at least an hour wait for food ( the place was empty) but we decided to wait. Ordered a house plater. ( fire cracker chicken wings, chips, breaded mushroom, onion rings and garlic bread ). After over an hour and 20 minutes we finally got it and it was all frozen food. How did it take 1 hour and 20 minutes to cook frozen food and there was 2 chicken tenders not wings We did eat it and it was average. The main came. Boyfriend got a salad and garlic bread and I get fish and chips like who can get a fish and chips wrong. Well the rumblingwill can. Got the fish and it was still raw the batter was like goo. I actually got sick after it and boyfriend eat he salad but then waited another 15 minutes for the garlic bread. No matter what way u cook garlic bread it doesn't take 15 minutes. I had 2 bites of the fish and it was so bad. There was one staff member and that was it. He was nice . I will definitely not go back as disappointing is a massive understatement

This is a terrific local with a very welcoming landlord who creates a very welcoming atmosphere. Good food & draft beer selection, and friendly service that leads to loyal customers. The pub isn't in the most central location but it's worth making time to visit - Dunfermline needs more like this.

Showed up to a booked meal to be told that the kitchen was closed. After a bit of a fuss, the kitchen was reopened. Food was lacklustre and a tad bland. My son was sick the day after. Staff were numerous but service was null. Shame really, it looks good from the outside.

Stopped in for food. Food was tasty enough for pub grub. We were told a few items were finished (awaiting fresh supplies on Monday) and I got the impression the staff had been busy and were beginning to tire. Good enough visit, but could also be better.

Starters arrived ok, then 1hour and 15 minutes wait for main course and the food could have been better. 1 meal was not completed to one of our groups liking it was removed from the bill thankfully. Having eaten here many times for great food and a warm welcome it was hoped the new owners would carry on but alas no chance and then the music started at 7pm o dear! I know they mean well but it was a good pub for food but now enough said.

Christmas Day lunch…well what can I say, absolutely horrendous! Starter salad of goats cheese, tiny sprinkle of goats cheese and drowned in vinegar. Main of turkey, was stone cold,veg solid,hard frozen potatoes. Gravy like water, pile of red cabbage leaking all over the plate. Cheesecake was edible. Tbh we weren’t really expecting anything fancy as the price was so low but should of at least been a hot roast dinner. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere was good, this place is so handy for us but this meal was bad. Would happily pay more to be served better quality next year.

Me and the hubby called in for a few festive sips, and we're very glad we did. Rebecca and Niamh (apologies if I've used the wrong spelling!) are just lovely- so welcoming and friendly. The venue itself is smart, a really fresh and spacious area. Good choice of beers, and what looks to be a fine selection of everything else! We will definitely be returning to support this great addition to our neighbourhood. x.

Very friendly staff. The food was very nice also. My only grumble would be that we were a bit cold and didn't stay for coffee because of this.

I like this pub as the staff are super nice. Got a cheeseburger today and the smallest bit of lettuce was used in the bun which was pointless putting it on the roll, as I couldn't taste it. The burger relish was scraped on which...

A lot of the items on the menu were not available but they were items that you could have purchased at a local supermarket. The food was very basic and small portions for the cost involved. An example was the mushroom starter which was clearly deep fried and crunchy to eat.
