The best restaurants in Fife Central Scotland

Out for a meal with family and friends and we weren't disappointed. Good food at a reasonable price and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Clean place, large bathroom with huge shower, standard breakfast, old structure.

Very Poor Service, overall a very bad experience. Specially the behaviour of the Receptionist was very rude. Avoid at any cost!!

Found this restaurant by accident and it was fantastic. Ambience, memorabilia on walls, lovely staff and great food made this a memorable place to eat. I told the owner that their Nachos were the best I've ever had. Great night and thoroughly enjoyable experience. The only sad thing about the visit was that I found out the restaurant is closing down this year after 40+ years in business as the owner is retiring! Just hope he changes his mind!

New Bistro menu instead of previous Lunch menu but same delicious food. Will be back soon.

Just send a complaint via the restaurant website as we also had food poisoning cases this weekend. Service was ok, staff was friendly. However 3 out of our table of 5 displayed symptoms of food poisoning, all had chicken dishes, the two others who didn't were absolutely fine. I hope the management/direction can take this feedback onboard and reflect on it to improve the standards on food hygiene and retrain their staff accordingly. Given the previous similar reviews we were not an isolated case, and something went clearly wrong between their fridges to our plates whether it's a stock, temperature control, food hygiene or even management issue with sick staff on duty, I hope this can be addressed and controlled rapidly for everyone's sake, restaurant included.

We went to this cafe on the two days we were in Saint Andrew’s and we loved it! The service was so friendly and I appreciated the honesty of recommendations by the person who was taking the orders. It made my day learning about this wonderful community minded cafe for everyone. Sarah from NZ

£35 for two small haddock is expensive when you are expecting 2 large portions! When asked if I had enjoyed the meal, I replied that I ordered large portions , not small! The waitress immediately responded that they were large. A shame. Having often eaten in this hotel before, it will be a long time before I return, if I return! Especially when you add in £13 for a beer and a glass of table wine. If the establishment does not wish to hear adverse comments, don't ask if everything is all right.

Great service always , delicious food and good quality food. Recommend their sushi 🍣. My favourite place to take friends of guests that are new to any areas of fife. Been a few times and will definitely keep coming back .

This NTS cafe is next to Culross Palace and has a lovely ambiance inside and outside. It does great coffee and a nice selection of home baked cakes and scones. We went on a very sunny day, and the outside area was perfect - a choice of tables in the sun or shade.

I’m here on business every week found this gem about 6 months ago and I’m here every week either on my own or with colleagues No matter what you have it’s a new experience Me my favourite is tandoori mixed grill with mushroom rice and garlic naan But lamb shanks goodness I could go on travelled the world but tell you this even if I’m not working in Dunfermline I WILL find an excuse to come back That’s a 5 star endorsement and it warrants it

Typical Scottish service ! Employ young inexperienced staff and don’t bother with training. Wines that are hugely marked up but NO sommelier to advise or serve. Steak selection - Fillet or 🤨Fillet ! I find amateur service a common theme in supposedly top end restaurants/ hotels in most of UK. In Europe you can visit a revisit a restaurant after 10 years and probably be welcomed by same professional staff. Sommeliers who are sharp and knowledgeable offering great wines at reasonable markup’s. It doesn’t happen in UK. There was a young server at breakfast who looked like he still had the shirt he slept in that week on for work. My wife and I always come back from ‘5star’ UK short breaks with the same conclusion. No wonder we cruise ! Long live Seabourn , Crystal and Silversea they are worth every penny. Unfortunately unlike hospitality in our own country.

Great location. Great service. Place is a dump. Breakfast is not great. Breakfast service is sketch. Good storage facility for golf clubs in the lobby. The shower temperature control is awful. There is no AC. Definitely would not recommend this place.
