A great selection of tasty cuisine on a very well stocked buffet, coupled with very friendly, attentive and courteous service. Fantastic first experience and we will definitely return in the future! (And many thanks to the waiter who came out into the carpark as we were leaving, to return my glasses to me that I'd stupidly left on the table inside! This was definitely beyond the call of duty and I really appreciated it!!)

Another year has past and on Christmas day and New years day my wife and i can be found at the Shimla Palace, Cowdenbeath. The meals as expected were beautifully cooked and tasty, just like they have for the past 20 Years. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Thank you again to Shimla Palace for an enjoyable time.

Tremendous Indian buffet. Imaculate premises including toilets. Always a good sign. Plenty parking. Consistantly good.

Christmas dinner at Shimla was a great experience. All the staff are very friendly, continually checking if you have enough juice etc. Great selection of food for adults and young kids. The mix of christmas dinner for those who prefer a traditional dinner or a selection for us curry fanatics. Overall we had a great day and would highly recommend to anybody looking for a family dinner out. Thanks to the whole team for such a great meal

My family used to come here all the time growing up, I have now moved out of Cowdenbeath but when we visited on Thursday the food and atmosphere were exactly as I remember. The whole restaurant is so clean and beautifully decorated. The meal was great, food was topped up quickly and was always warm. The price was very reasonable £76 for a group of four including drinks, and at a quality you may struggle to find at pricier restaurants. Nice and busy even on a Thursday night, and the staff were friendly and attentive as always. They are a real credit to the business :)

We come here regularly and it is consistently a high standard. The staff are very attentive and always make an effort to engage with us, especially when we bring our children. The food is always excellent, hot and fresh. Excellent value for money too.

I have been to this place over 8 times and have always loved the food they have it is good quality and they have many desserts and they also have good service the staff are very friendly and they will help you if you need anything including the WiFi password they have many items to choose from and they are super delicious and tasty the atmosphere is very friendly there is not many loud noises and I have been to many birthday parties here and they have been amazing.

The food wasn't the absolute best Indian I've had but the value of the buffet is absolutely amazing. Can't fault the service or atmosphere here either. I'll definitely be back.

Great food and great value for money.

I live quite far away from Shimla Palace but often collect a curry from there as its really nice, this coupled with the fact they add in a poppadom and spiced onions with my usual order means I take the long trip to shimla when wanting a nice curry. Dissapointed tonight to have waited over 15 minutes after the the alloted collection time and then not to have been given a poppadom as usual. If i knew this I would have just ordered closer to home as that's not a nice change. Definitely going downhill. Unlikely to be back again now as wont be taking that risk again. A good loyal customer lost.

Wow, completely surprised and impressed by this Nepalese / Indian buffet in Cowdenbeath. Cost for a family of four was £51.70. Excellent value: starter, soup, over a dozen main dishes, and dessert selection with ice cream. Men's bathroom was the cleanest I've seen after a month in the UK. If you're in the area, definitely worth a stop or even a special trip: you leave full and impressed.

The food was good, The delivery was 2hrs 10 mins , I phoned after 1and a half hour and was told the meal was on its way then phoned after 2 hrs they said sorry and that the order was way it arrived 10 mins later I could have almost walked from the restaurant to my house after the first call to delivery needless to saying I'm not happy and won't be calling again. (To continue from my review of several weeks ago the manager has contacted me and apologised for the poor delivery times and we have resolved the complaint as I have said before I have no complaints regarding the quality of the food it has always been very good in my opinion .)

Had a delivery today. Was over an hour ,food was stone cold and tasteless. Mixed pakora was only chicken an onion bhaji. No pakora sauce!! Will not be using them again We had a conversation with the Restaurant Manager and came to an amicable solution. He was ever so sorry for the poor food and delivery time , We were assured that it will not happen again and are reviewing there process. We were given a gift voucher to give the Restaurant another chance ,which we will go in for a buffet in the very near future. I hope this experience is a 1 off as we regularly use the Shimla for delivery and buffets. Douglas Trotter

Staff are so lovely and attentive! The food is great for the price but the naan breads are very thin and sometimes the food can be a bit dry sitting out so long. We love coming here though, great value for money

After having an amazing buffet 2 weeks ago in the restaurant with friends, we decided to try a takeout. I ordered online and it was ready on time when I collected it. After a 30 minute journey home, the food was still hot and absolutely delicious! Highly recommended and we WILL be back. Thanks Shimla Palace.

Recently diagnosed with ceiliacs disease. Asked staff for gluten allergen information and not only were they happy to accommodate with the information they Even went and brought back a plate from the kitchen with a few specific gluten free items to try, which as it turns out we're delicious. Can't recommend enough!

3 of us had dinner here in May 2022 and all really enjoyed it. There's plenty of choice, the variety of food on offer hasn't reduced the quality of the flavour and produce and it's very tasty. Oddly, the Chinese food is probably the most flavoursome out of it all...but that's maybe just my palate! Well worth a visit and great value. Just been back in (03/05/24) and it was still very enjoyable and the staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. My other half had a buffet and I went for Mewa Masala off the menu. Very tasty and reasonably priced. 👍

I love coming here, but the mango chutney is now too thin it runs off the food also the haggis pakora was brick hard I could not eat it,other wise everything else was very good.

I struggle with spicy food but love Indian dishes so Shimla and their massive buffet is PERFECT for me! Sometimes I don’t always fancy a curry, so I tend to stick to the starters and have 2 portions, then enjoy the ice cream and strawberry sauce. The BEST spicy onions in any Indian restaurant I’ve ever had. Ever.

A great place for a meal out. Lots of variety with the food and there is something for everyone. Service is quick and we never had to wait for drinks. Definitely recommend.
