The best restaurants in Argyll & Bute Central Scotland

We called in here for lunch. There is car parking to the side. We chose soup with freshly baked bread, a cheese scone, a feta cheese salad, and a smoked trout open sandwich, plus tea and coffee; £41.00. The soup and bread were great, and the salad was super-tasty! We sat at a picnic table in the courtyard, in the sun - lovely! Clean lavatory.

Dined here, as staying in hotel and did not fancy walking into Campbeltown to find a restaurant so it was easier to stay put. Booked for 7.30 but they called us to put us back to 8.30 as they had a party booked in. They then call our room at around 7.20 to ask can we come now but no as we weren't ready. Agreed we'd come asap around 7.45. Party of 10 had grown to 14 and were very very noisy. Couldn't here ourselves speak. My starter of scallops,expensive but tasted fine. My halibut was tasty and enjoyed the meal. One of my sisters thought the langoustines were overcooked and again expensive. Steaks and lasagne were eaten with my sisters saying yes all good. Service all good and then breakfast in the morning. Menu very good, service a bit haphazard but friendly waitress and all enjoyed that meal too.

Beautiful restaurant with large windows and a view to the sea and Jura. Great music, art on the walls, lovely decor. Really delicious food. Great service. It was a high standard but relaxed and welcoming. Ideal restaurant, would love to go again. Breakfast is also amazing.

Just finished a fantastic meal delivered to the Anchor Tavern. Great food huge portions great value. Well done Sea Dragon.

As soon as the food came the aroma was just great. We finished all the finger licking yummy food. Excellent food. Will recommend.

Terrible servicio. El sándwich del desayuno salió rápido pero uno era incorrecto. Esperé 25 minutos para dos copas. Además, el empleado fue grosero cuando le pregunté por mi bebida. Estuve allí a las 07:00: 30 el 9 de noviembre th😡

Outstanding burger and fries made with real potatoes! No wonder there always a queue. Great cakes. Order at the horse box and find a table. The service is pretty speedy.

I stayed at this hotel with 2 other friends on the 21st September. The food was excellent. The staff couldn't do enough for us. We had a lovely seaview room which was fab as the sun was shinning all weekend.

Had to wait about 20 minutes (because they had a BIG order (and no wonder)) but it was worth it - the best fish and chips ever. Crisp batter, fresh fish, chips cooked to perfection.

Was only here to attend a private function. Nice bar and seating area. Could see a projector and a pull down screen so maybe get some sports on show at other times.

Wow... we have been visiting here for over eight years, and we can't believe the impressive change this year, last year we thought it had improved from years earlier but this year it has taken a huge leap in to (my opinion) a 5⭐️ establishment. The food is freshly prepared by a very creative chef, the best Cullen Skink we've ever tasted (and we've visited Cullen, and even they couldn't cook it as good as the Lorne). We are huge seafood fans, so we also had to sample the mussels and seafood platter. The portions are plentiful, but we were overwhelmed by the quality of the food. We visited several times during our stay this week and we have not been disappointed My husband also had the steak one time and it was delicious (the melting in your mouth type of meat) The staff are very welcoming and attentive even during busy times. In our opinion this is the best place to eat in Oban.

This is the best dinner out we have had in years. From walking in to the breathtaking views of the Loch, the friendly and impeccably polished customer service, an epic menu with lots of choice (inc a brilliant kids menu that was healthy as well as having loads of options), the food itself was absolutely incredible and the feel of the restaurant itself was just lovely. What a fantastic place and as our last meal of our holiday it absolutely topped it off. A really really special place.

A bit tired, but nice helpful staff. Food wasn't so good for us. Very cramped and limited parking.

The hotel is an experience. The food is wonderful the beds comfortable and the cosy. Great place to stay for visits to the island. Looking forward to a visit in the summer. PLEASE finish the residents lounge.
