Outstanding burger and fries made with real potatoes! No wonder there always a queue. Great cakes. Order at the horse box and find a table. The service is pretty speedy.

What a truly relaxing place to get good food, amazing cake and delicious hot drinks. The prices are fantastic. My burger and Cajun fries were hot and delicious and fab value for money.

Just go, you will not regret it. Beautiful food, great menu, amazing coffee, lovely people. We tried a number of places around the area for food and this is our favourite.

The burgers were amazing. Best we've had for ages. Fries were exemplary. Yes sweet bakes were a bit solid and limited. We'll return again for burgers alone and friendly informal atmosphere. The gardens are well worth the visit.

We were hoping for something better in Benmore Botanic Gardens. We have visited the gardens in Edinburgh and Dawyck which have nice cafes with proper crockery and cutlery and wonderful home-baked cakes at Dawyck. Street food would be a good description. Burgers, chips with everything, lots of spicy things etc but not a quiche, salad (other than as a bit of garnish) or bowl of soup in sight. No sandwiches of any kind. I ordered a chicken wrap which I thought would be safest but it was drowned in BBQ sauce which is not to my taste and drowned the taste of any chicken. I was hungry. I ate it. My husband chose a toasted ham and cheese sandwich which he described as "adequate". I think the biggest gripe is the lack of choice. If you're not a fan of high-fat and sugary food, don't go here. The tea and coffee, served in cardboard cups, were OK. Very disappointed. Next time I'll take my own sandwiches.

There used to be such a fantastic cafe at Benmore gardens run by local people with locally sourced ingredients. Now there is this “street food” rubbish. Most of the seating is outside (fine on dry and midge free days) . Choice of coffee, tea, bakes and some stuffy dishes served in takeaway boxes. Disappointing

We stopped here on a cold and very windy day. Cafe is a bit small, but the cakes are scrumptious and the hot chocolate was perfectly chocolatey, delicious and warming which was just what was needed. Coffee and tea also was great. The two ladies who run the cafe are lovely and bake some really delicious treats. They have a small shop too full of pretty stuff. Will definitely be coming back here next time I'm in Inveraray.

Booked for Ceilidh night. Fantastic, everyone mixing, having a laugh and fun, what life's about, certainly worked up a sweat with dancing and worked my delicious tea off, superbly cooked and beautifully presented! Lovely staff.

I recently stayed at the Ardencaple Hotel, and while the location is great, the overall experience left much to be desired. The biggest letdown was the service—it felt disorganized, and the staff, though polite, seemed either overworked or inattentive. Requests took far too long to be addressed, and there was a general lack of attentiveness that made the stay less enjoyable. The hotel itself is in desperate need of renovations. The rooms are outdated, with worn furniture, tired-looking carpets, and bathrooms that have clearly seen better days. Even the common areas feel neglected, with peeling paint and a general sense that the place hasn’t been properly maintained in years. What could be a charming and cozy hotel instead feels run-down and in need of serious investment. It’s a shame because the setting has a lot of potential, but until they make some much-needed upgrades and improve the service, I wouldn’t rush back.

A bit tired, but nice helpful staff. Food wasn't so good for us. Very cramped and limited parking.
