The best restaurants in Angus Central Scotland

On a break with my wife staying outside Kirriemuir. We had an early dinner at the Airlie Arms, a place we have eaten on many occasions. The Airlie Arms is lovely, clean and service is always great. However, both my wife and I were less than impressed with the food served. I had the Hunters Chicken burger and my wife had the beef burger. I ate a few bites of chicken and found it lacking in flavour. We were surprised to see the beef burger was not handmade. Most restaurants we visit have handmade, easy-to-do. My wife felt unwell and didnt finish the meal apart for the fries. It's a shame that the Airlie is our go-to place when we visit Kirriemuir. Don't know why but the food is not their usual standard, and you expect burgers to be handmade even in a pub.

The best Indian meal we've ever had. Generous portions, high quality food and excellent service. It was a real treat.

The room was small but had everything you needed in it had a hospitality tray and en suite. breakfast isn't included but we paid extra for it and was worth the money.about a 20 minute walk from carnoustie train station . Was above a pub but found it very quiet. Staff were very helpful.

Soup of the Day was Good But Not Hot , And Could of Done With More Tea in The Pot for Two . Otherwise We Have No Other Complaint.

Lovely pub, great atmosphere right in the heart of Montrose.

Great place for a fry up. They do other food but we both fancied a breakfast today.

Food was great as always and just had thee best mixed calzone , cooked to perfection and in 8 slices easy to share👌🏻 efes donor meat is the nicest in Carnoustie also in my opinion x ty

First time visit for takeaway.Garbage. Veg Red Curry had 3 small slivers of carrot and 3 very small broccoli florets.Disgraceful.We played spot the vegetable which was the shortest game in history. Pork Massaman curry awful.The pork was tough,scraggy and inedible.Looked like something a stray dog would vomit up.Garbage.Will not be back.The single worst Thai meal I have ever had.

Ordered 2x chips cheese and donner and 2x kids chips and mozzarella sticks. Asked for garlic mayo was added on to the chips cheese and donner and the never, we received the mayo in tubs instead, the mayo it's self was not fresh and was congealed, the service was appalling and ended up getting overcharged (did however get the refund of the overcharge) the food wasn't piping hot amd no juice with kids meals

First time we have had a carry out. It was lovely - will definitely be ordering again.

Went for a celebration meal. I had the Sunday roast which was a reasonable portion and delicious. Other party members had the fish and chips which they enjoyed. Seafood linguine went down well also, full of fish. Lovely views of the fishing loch and also got some sights of a wedding party.

Owner harasses every customer upon entry. Owner full of confidence and even sits on your table at times whilst your trying to eat, what is that all about min? Have been put right off only came in for food not to make a new best friend min........ Doug.
