Absolutely delicious!, best chippy smokie with batter supper , in fact the best we have ever tasted , arrived hot!

Had full smoked sausage supper, mock chop, big foot sausage all were amazing don't get all of that back home in kent

What a brilliant restaurant its does a buffet everyday from 12 til 3 great variety of chip shop food including fish and chips and masal fish, white pudding, king rib, 2 special dishes different each day, pizza, fresh homemade soup, black pudding and much more. hot deserts are normally sticky toffe pudding, apple crumble and rice pudding and custard if you wanted it. Also has a cold selection of deserts including coconut cake, choc cake, triffle and fruit. Thier is salad bar with potato salad, coleslaw, cheese, pickles eggs, Cucumber, tomatoes, beetroot, pasta salad etc, the drinks are refillable on soft drinks. If you prefer not to have a buffet you can eat of the main menu which has a very good selection. You can sit in chairs that are near the sea in arbroath with loads of nice scenery. staff very good and willing to help

Ordered takeaway. The servers were lovely; very friendly. Fish was delicious (battered smokies were great) and so was the king rib.

What a fantastic place! We arrived in time for the 12-2 buffet lunch the wife, 2 kids and I had loads of great options to choose from- all cooked to perfection and really tasty, staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful and everything at a very reasonable price. We will definately be back soon. 👍👍

Burger I had was full of spices and way overcooked was like eating charcoal also prices are shockingly expensive not worth your money.

The burger arrived very burnt. The patti and bun were well blackened, which unfortunately made the burger taste like a piece of coal. The mozzarella sticks were good. For dessert we had fried Mars bars. The taste was as bizarre as it sounds. But okay. Unfortunately, the fried cuisine was nothing to me despite the solid staff.

The food is very oily and tastes very bad

Didn't stay, took one look at the menu and left £15 for a fish supper 🤣 chippies at the pier for half that.

The Bellrock smokie is one of the very best fish and chip dinners in the whole country, really outstanding. Traditional smokie also good and they're very child friendly.

Got a single fish, cooked when I ordered but batter was soggy. Fish was cooked but batter either too thick or could have been done longer. Fish when cooked was up to drain for bout30 seconds before put in container. It was only salted,no vinegar. Seperate chips and cheese was ok as was pizza crunch.

Surprisingly, this shop serve HALAL menu, which they cook in separate kitchen and of HALAL resources, as per the staff information. Fish and chip is superb!. Ordered haddock and couldn't be better. Portion is enormous; the fish and the fries. Pure potato cut, not the instant in-package. Price is quite in the high note but the portion worth the value. The offer lunch buffet and ala-carte.

Ordered a Cod Supper, when I ate it, there was more batter than fish, the fish was dry, I've seen more fish on a pilchard!...I suggest using the other fish restaurants in arbroath!

If you love a chipper then the lunch time chipper buffet is a must! All you can eat for a very decent price. Great food and well worth the value for money!

Took a trip up on the train from Glasgow to try the buffet it's small but dose not dissapoint! Friendly staff. Nice place for a cycle also 😁

How do they manage it?! The food is amazing, service really good and the price is reasonable. Everyone there works hard and keeps busy. The atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the menu choices are plentiful and it's always a pleasurable experience at the Bell Rock. Also, their milkshakes are bleedin incredible!!

We enjoyed an absolutely delicious sharing platter for 2. So tasty, lots of it, so much we took enough home for our tea tomorrow! Excellent service. Definitely recommend and definitely will be back.

You have to try the Bellrock Smokie. Absolutely amazing smokey flavour. Loved the honest cafeteria style atmosphere in the place. No pretention whatsoever. Onion rings were extremely crispy and tasty as well. Highly recommended.

I've had better food elsewhere. My coffee didn't come out until I had nearly finished my meal. The cappuccino was served in a latte cup with no chocolate on top. Won't be going back.

It was absolutely mediocre. That’s all you can really say about the buffet. Over priced for what it was, very slow to replenish food, chips barely warm, pizza room temperature, fish warm, deserts mixed in with salads, just altogether a very disappointing experience.

I certainly wouldn't have written here but I think people who spend hard earned money on food deserve the right to know what type of people these who run it now are. Been going here for years a couple of times a year. Always enjoyed their food but the last couple of times we found it very greasy. My wife asked the waitress if her gluten free fish could be drained a wee bit longer than usual as she also has Colitis. Sadly it came out saturated in yellow grease. I left a review on their Facebook page saying so.....their way of dealing with negative feedback is to block you. Never came across any business do that before

We took my mum out for a meal for mothers day and the food at the Bellrock was excellent....was a bit worried though as about about half an hour in I started to itch then spots on my arm, shoulder and hip came up and they were really itchy...I don't know what it was could have been elergic to their cleaning stuff but I've been here before and this hasn't happened... This won't stop me going again

1 x fish supper & 1 white pudding supper. Both excellent, crispy batter, big very tasty fish. Service was bit slow but they were quite busy. Would definitely go back

The statf were friendly and welcoming. There was a nice atmosphere in the place. The soup was lovely. However the fish had been lying under heat lamps for too long and was a bit dried out. The dessert choice was very good. We will return but be more careful of the condition of the fish.

The food here is honestly not the best but the staff are nice and the interior is great. The chips especially I'm not a fan of, the rest of the food I'd describe as alright, but they do really nice milkshakes. The food is quite pricey for what it is.

Got a cheese burger and chips not great burger had no taste to it and the little handful of chips I got were dry and hard Kids got chips and chicken fillets and the chicken fillets were dripping with grease have orderd from here before and just the same thought I would give it a second chance won’t order from here again there are better and much cheaper chippies out there rating 3/10

Took grand kids out for a meal yesterday honest opinion was rubbish paid almost £60.00 had a little bit of salad small piece of fish 1or 2 chips will not go back good for people that just like to eat as much as they can no taste also charged £3.00 for glass of coke shocking

Excellent fish and chips. The buffet looked tempting, but I was too late. Next time I visit Arbroath, I will check it out.

We periodically travel up from Fife to our favourite chippy. It's spoiled all other chip shops for us. We always go for the battered smokie supper with some extra sides. Smoked fish battered, unreal! Nice friendly atmosphere, no frills, just what you want from a chippy.

Place a good vibe, nice and clean place with a good atmosphere in restaurant. Food is always served good here.

We really enjoyed our meals this visit and the staff were lovely. The pricing is fair for the meals you get. The food was far superior to my previous visit years ago, I used to find the food too greasy despite the fact it's a chippy. This visit the food was perfect in comparison.

Just took delivery of fish and chips. Fish dry and tasteless very poor quality, not what you would expect from a seaside restaurant. Decision made not going to waste my time or money on ordering from the Bellrock again. Would not recommend.

A quaint restaurant near the harbour off the A92. Delicious food. Special senior menu includes a 3 course meal for 15.99 pounds. Menu has a variety of items to choose from. Food is reasonably priced. Children menu available. Free parking is available.

Great place for a takeaway and a walk along the beach/harbour next to the historical signal tower, they also have a restaurant with a buffet in the afternoon.

Just had a delivery of fish and chips they were great but.... The chilli dog was very CHILLY. No way had it been heated the cheese on top hadn't even begun to melt. Phoned to complain was offered another but it was already being heated at home. A discount on my next order would have been nice though.

Very poor menu, even worse if you want vegan, 2 options fake fish or fake chicken and you can have either salad or chips with it, not both, for £15.99!!!! Honestly couldn't believe it. Didn't bother with that, had a plate of chips which came out totally overcooked, crunchy or teeth breaking 😁 My friend had lentil soup which wasn't vegan and her son had a smokie in batter and chips. What is wrong with making real food and not just beige food that you can stick in a fryer. Not very impressed, won't be back. They were very good at cleaning though 🤣

Yesterday my Daughter, son-in-law, and 3 grandson's (aged 11,8,8) went for the buffet lunch. There was a large selection of different foods, which were freshly cooked and replenished as soon as the container was empty. I mentioned my Grandson's ages because they were able to go up to the Buffet by themselves and get their own plates filled. (You can see the actual buffet from every table in the Restaurant) It gives them that little bit of independence 😊, plus the adults didn't have to leave their food to get the boy's fed, Win-win all round. Would definitely recommend 👌 👍.

Option of ordering from menu or set price buffet, which is the better for value. Good choice of chip shop favourites, pizza, salad & desserts. However vegetarians may struggle with options.

Restaurant located at Beautiful environment , seafront view. This is not the first time for us . Big portions for the price we pay . But food can be more tastier, lots of dressing for the fish , it make less tastier . Halal options also available. We seven people went , overall score 6/10 .

We were there for a late lunch. The buffet had just ended. Fish was good, chips so-so. Staff was busy cleaning up from lunch.

Good food with lots of choices. The haddock is excellent. Big portions and also smaller portions available too.

We has the 3 course OAPs special... I had homemade chicken and sweetcorn soup.. ( all fresh & hot) really tasty.. followed by " Spicy fish" absolutely lovely... the fish was SO fresh and the Batter delicious plus... homemade chips... what a result..no frills... just real good food. The apple crumble & ice cream was lush to... Will definitely be back.. Well done The Bellrock

Wow. First time visit today after recently moving near to Arbroath. Welcomed by a very helpful friendly person, all the staff were friendly. The 12-2pm buffet was varied and tasty. Fish and chips were as good as any and my wife who is vegetarian happily enjoyed an excellent selection. The puddings were included and top quality. The apple crumble was particularly tasty and my favourite. The buffet itself was good value considering the quality and variety of food on offer. I’ll be recommending The Bellrock to all my friends.
