Great prices, pity their website says they serve food when they don't.

I would say this is the best pub (and Pizza) in the area. Very friendly staff, good Guinness and pizza. You will always feel welcome at the Caledonian.

went down today for a spot of lunch and some strawberry picking. we had a fantastic time at the farm! Inside the cafe looks lovely, they have a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. the menu was great with something for everyone, we liked how there was an option for a light bite or a more substational meal. I had the Brisket Panini special and my partner had the pulled pork burger, both were a perfect size and incredibly tasty. We were then offered desserts, we had an affogato and the strawberry pancake stack, both of which looked and tasted amazing! The service was top notch and every staff member was really informative and friendly, they made us feel very welcome during our time here. After lunch we went strawberry picking in the fields which was a great time and a really nice way to spend the day. we will definitely be back and would 100 percent reccomend anyone to try it out! ❤️

In a word dreadful, ordered a chicken Maryland , over cooked lump of chicken chips were hard , and two over battered sausages , I gave it to the seagulls , not the chicken Maryland I know and love very disappointing

I chose the Chicken Fajitas which was essentially a huge plate of carrots and potatoes served as a filler to make up for the lack of meat.. Ridiculous prices for such a stingy portion of meat. There was litterally 3 tiny strips of meat drowned in a plate of sauce and peppers. I also think its also really cheeky to charge you an extra £6 for your dips and cheese which should be included for the price. It was the strangest concoction of food and the worst Fajittas I've ever had in my life. The only reason I'm giving you 1 star is because my eyesight will be 20/20 and ill be able to see in the dark after the mountain of carrots I just consumed.

We turned up at the restaurant without booking a table and we kindly asked for a table for 4 (2 adults and 2 young kids). We got such a dirty look from a member of staff and he clearly huffed to check if there was any availability, the place had a lot of tables. We walked straight out as we felt so unwelcome we had to leave. We will never enter this restaurant again.

How this hotel has the ratings it has is beyond my understanding. Arrived to book in and met with a dark, damp smelling entrance. One light on in the bar area where a very unhappy employee was clearing up from previous staff (allegedly the managers!) shift. Advised that none of the hotel rooms had been prepared and she needed time to do so. We were unable to get food at the hotel as there was nothing. Info on site says meals available. Room was freezing cold, blinds failed, windows drafty, had to ask for towels for shower. Excuse for a bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. The wooden frame squeaked even when moving the quilt!! We had booked for 3 nights which we cut short. Breakfast was an absolute joke, make your own tea and toast with out of date milk, and a jar of cheap jam. An experience not for repeating!

Basic menu but good service, friendly atmosphere and the food (soup and baps) was hot and fresh and was quickly served. Obviously a hit with locals as many of the other customers seemed to know each other and were regulars.

Haven’t visited for a long time but this place is nowhere near as good as it was previously. 90% of the tables being vacant on a Saturday lunchtime should have been the clue but we sat down and ordered. The cheese and tomato roll arrived and that was all there was on the wee side plate. Although the roll was fresh and well filled there was no accompanying salad, crisps or coleslaw we have all come to expect with a “sit down” sandwich. We also ordered a toastie which did come with a very small salad and a wee spoon of coleslaw. As soon as the sandwiches had arrived the bill was slapped down on the table “for when you are finished”. We decided we would also like coffee and a cake after the sandwiches. The bill was taken away, amended and was delivered again, this time before our order had even been placed on table. Finding a hair in my coffee I returned it to the desk and quickly received a replacement with no question. Overall it was a disappointing visit to a place we used to enjoy and sadly I can’t see us calling in again.

If you like MSG and sugar as the only flavouring in your food then this place is right up your street. Stale rice, low quality crispy shredded duck and manky mains all add up to over priced and under quality.

Would you buy frozen hamburger with frozen nuggets -reheat them and put into roll and paid over 6 pounds? No thank you. Te be honest maybe they have good food but frozen hamburgers with frozen nuggets reheated are pathetic.

Visited for a quick spot of lunch. Good menu choice with plenty of homemade choices. Efficient friendly service also.

Ordered a footlong meatball marinara and it was extremely tasty but the wedges on the other hand were disgusting (partly cooked but mostly raw and cold)
