This cafe serves a nice range of home made food. The people that run it are pleasant and it is always quite busy. The prices on the menu compare favorably with similar local cafes.

I was really surprised that with the extensive menu to teas, *they* choose which one is "popular" instead of asking what the customer would like. To top that off, they seem to put style over substance as the tea pot I had dripped wildly when I was pouring it, I couldn't see if it was brewed enough to drink (black cups), and the wee pot of milk also dripped onto the table when I put milk in my tea. (Photos included) The tea had a strange smell and was undrinkable. When I asked the server what it was, she spouted out some off the wall name I'd never heard of before. When I told her I couldn't drink it, she said she'd not charge me for it (which is the only reason for the second star on this review). She didn't offer me anything to replace it, either - just said it's very popular. Earl Grey tea is very popular, but I don't like that either. We won't bother going back.

We had noticed this wee place on a previous visit and instead of our usual cafe, decided to give it a try. Mixed feelings about it. Staff seemed friendly enough and despite being very young on the most part, were attentive if not knowledgeable about their offerings. We just wanted a drink and snack and ordered 4 plain scones, they only had 3 so we settled for a biscuit and scones. The scones were small and brick like. Thankfully they were served with 2 pats of butter each, which added some moisture. In my opinion, a cafe is only as good as its home baking. unfortunately this doesn't do it for us, we won't be back. At £14 for 4 drinks and snacks, including squash for the kids, it is on the high side for what was served. The manager, I assume, became very animated when chatting to a customer about jewellery which is made on the premises, which looks great, hence the 3 stars!! Otherwise she didn't really seem interested in the customers.

My heavily pregnant friend and I walked into the cafe for the first time, none of the staff even looked at us as we walked to a table. The table was full of crumbs, we waited 10 minutes before asking if it was order at the till which it wasn’t. There was only two other tables in at the time. We ordered milkshakes which took a further 15 minutes to come. I had a deluxe milkshake with cream on top and no straws as they had ran out of them. The place itself needed a very good clean. I was so annoyed with the experience, I won’t be back.

Stopped by for lunch with my daughter (2 years) and had a lovely lunch. The menu is not extensive but perfect for lunch - toasties, sandwiches, soup, cake etc. We went for a cheese/ham/chilli jam toastie and a cheese and ham children's sandwich with a fruit scone to share. The children's sandwich was a little too big but everything tasted lovely - no horrible plastic ham either. Service was a little bit slow but they were busy. High chairs available. Would recommend.

Montrose town centre is a little short of cafes I’d say. So many small towns are well provided for in that way. Montrose only seems to have two in the main street. We chose the Natur'es Garden Cafe for a quick cuppa, having been once before. Once in, my husband felt like more than a scone, and was tempted by the Tuna & Cheese Panini which was very nice, and served with salad and some crisps. He doesn’t bother about the sides, but I ate some of the salad, he had the crisps. I had a lovely big sultana scone with butter and jam. Our decaffeinated tea was great too. There isn’t a huge menu, but all the typical fayre you’d expect in a café is available, and amazingly they prepare everything, and deal with all the dishes etc, etc, in a really wee space! The girls are very pleasant too. With only one other cafe we could see, this one was a very welcome find, especially on quite a cold November afternoon.

We visited the cafe on a Sunday and had lunch. The place was fairly quiet but the food did not disappoint and represented excellent value for money. In particular the soup, broccoli and cauliflower, was really good. I would highly recommend Nature's Garden Cafe for a quality lunch at a great price.

My son and I eat here quite often. Fresh made food and coffees. We love the bread they use for sandwiches, very fresh, cut thick and very tasty. Best broth in town and a nice variety of tasty home baked goods, all served by lovely staff with beautiful smiles.

Arrived at approx 1145 on a Saturday morning. We expected it to be busy, and we expected to get a light lunch or possibly a breakfast option. When we walked in alarm bells started ringing straight away ... the place was empty, apart from 2 customers and the staff....loads of tables to choose from. The place was spotless .... I can't fault the cleanliness of the public areas. As we were taking our seats, I was aware that a lady sitting behind me was sending her pot of tea back as it was tasteless. The menu was very limited ... bacon roll, soup or sandwiches (regular, toasted or pannini). We ordered a toasted sandwich, a pannini & a bacon roll along with 3 teas. The teas arrived promptly. They were in diffuser pots .... and here lies the problem that the lady behind me had experienced. Diffuser pots need to be left for at least 20 minutes to allow the flavour to develop .... by which time the tea has gone cold. They are really not ideal for a cafe/restaurant scenario. We waited another 10 minutes for the toastie and pannini, and then another 5 for the bacon roll. The pannini and toasted sandwich were well presented with a little salad and some crisps. The bacon roll looked silly ... on a very large plate by itself....my have been better on a smaller plate. The toasted sandwich was made using very thick slices of bread, which make it a very doughy thing to eat. Usually for toasted sandwiches, thin sliced bread is works better. From where I was sitting, I watched a member of staff drop a slice of cake on the floor behind the counter. When we left around 15 minutes later, there was still traces of the cake on the floor ... it hadn't been cleaned. No idea what happened to the slice ... I didn't notice. Then we pay ... £16 for 3 people. Had the food been good it would have been a good deal ... but it wasn't.Would I go back? No.

Nature's Garden is a lovely spot that deserves to be busier - even with it's ever so slightly off High Street position (notoriously hard to get Montrose folk beyond the High Street).Nice variety of home made tasty food on offer alongside excellent coffees, a wide variety of teas and lovely smoothies. The coffee here is at least equal to the best of any cafes in town and certainly better than the two busiest cafes in the High Street. They keep a range of syrups, including some less common ones, that will more than satisfy any sugar craving and the staff will happily create exactly the drink you want with a single pump of this and another of that accommodated with a smile and often a good recommendation. My recent discovery is their 'minis'. A mini soup served in a cappuccino style coffee cup along with a thick slab of good quality bread that is more than filling enough for lunch. And a mini 'the works' hot chocolate served in the same sized cup but towering with cream, chocolate drops and marshmallows (hidden under the cream). My most recent one was so loaded that half the hot chocolate came in a jug on the side. It's more like a desert than a drink and combined the two 'minis' formed an excellent lunch for about £4.The bread they use really is delicious and even a slice of toast and jam here seems like a treat (it comes as two slices but they will do a single slice if you ask and the bread really is doorstop thickness so for a snack, one is plenty - usually anyway). The staff are as friendly as ever even though the efficiency has picked up since their previous incarnation. And if you haven't overloaded on sugar from the indulgent drinks or home made cakes, then make sure to pick up one of their little bags of tablet as you pay. It may not seem cheap at £2 for 5/6 pieces but it is amongst the best tablet I've ever tasted - always creamy and smooth and no sign of the grittiness of cheaper versions.Added to the lovely food and service, the light bright airy atmosphere and large windows make for a great spot for lunch with friends, people watching or working away with coffee and free WiFi.
