I had the fish and chips with peas carrots and tartare sauce. I have to say it's the best fish I have had in a long time, it was wonderful. The chips were just right, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle will be back.

It's really hard to find a place as a family (Scotland is currently experiencing a reservation mania). The place is great, everything is very nice. On Fridays our children ate for FREE!!! We can really recommend the pub to everyone... even without a reservation :)

Very clean pub - probably the cleanest I have ever visited! The food was good and the staff were kind and helpful. I was visiting Arbroath from America and they seemed genuinely interested and even helped me to charge my phone 😊. Many thanks to them and highly recommend.

I haven't been for years and the decor was much better. Looked really nice and the staff were very friendly. The only thing that let them down was the food. I had chicken coujons, the chicken itself was a block of chicken. So probably reconstituted, rather than a nice fresh piece. But the meal was very cheap, so wasn't expecting much. If you wanted something warm and inexpensive. This is perfect, for you. It's right in the center of town and had lots of different alcohol etc. I personally prefer to pay a bit more and eat something better quality.

Doe what it says on the on the tin..Standard pub grub. Efficient service. Near centre of town so easy to access from the high street.

Visited on an afternoon when a table in the centre of the lounge was filled with extremely loud people so it was a matter of getting the ear plugs in and finishing our drinks pretty quickly. Also the dark interior is a bit of a turn-off

We stopped here on a lovely day so manged to sit outside. My husband went got drinks said it was nice inside and people very friendly. Thay do food but we were already booked to go But and Ben for hubbys 60th

Went for lunch and received attentive service and a lovely meal. Huge selection of delicious choices and service was efficient and swift with friendly and welcoming staff.

Visited the pageant for food and drinks and wasnt disappointed. The establishment looks great with an element of old and modern decor. Great atmosphere and staff very friendly. food excellent and great selection of drinks on offer. will defo be back.

The best food in Arbroath. Not just pub food, but good food. The beer is ice cold too. Great local bar atmosphere.

I was there twice. Good food and wide range of alcohol to choose from. Live music!But if you need a place for a girls night and you are not single don't go there. On fridays Pageant is full of men who are looking for.. you know what I mean ;)

Had lunch yesterday at The Pageant for first time .There were seven adults and a one year old .All meals were excellent and very good sized portions,The menu has a great selection also for vegetarians and gluten free.Could not fault food at all excellent value for money.The waitress/barmaid gave excellent service .Food was served quickly .Would definitely recommend this hidden treasure it's certainly one of the best places I have eaten in Arbroath and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for excellent food and service at competitive prices.Thank you for excellent service

I have had lunch and evening meals here excellent food and very reasonable price. On top.of that you get half portions which is brilliant when you want more than a snack for lunch. The creamy chicken pancake is a favourite.Always has great bands on at weekends and karaoke for those who enjoy that. Great busy pub with a very friendly atmosphere I'd recommend you to try it.

Had lunch here today with a friend on our lunch break. I had half portion mushroom stroganoff rice and a side of chips. It was served with garlic bread also. I can honestly say it's the best mushroom stroganoff I have ever eaten. Service was quick and with a smile. The pub itself was nice and quiet at 12 noon and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

The Pageant is a great pub. They serve very high quality food for very competitive prices. Often visit for lunch with the family. It is also a brilliant pub in the evenings with a wide variety of live entertainment, friendly bar staff and a lively atmosphere. Would definitely recommend a visit.

I have been to the Pageant on numerous occasions now. Each time is as good as, or better than the last.

We popped in to the pageant for my husbands birthday and were not disappointed. They had a great band on, plenty staff so you got served quickly and they have a good variety of drinks on offer. Plenty seats are available near the band area and if you want a quieter night.

My meal, Battered haddock and chips (half portion) was lovely and well cooked, my cousin got a cheeseburger and chips which looked great and she said was delicious... chips were perfect! my son had a kids meal....only niggle is it was quite a large portion (chicken strips and chips with beans) and was on a tiny plate so all the beans made the chips and chicken soggy... so my son wasn't keen to eat it, larger plates would be better, it was also a problem with my own meal as there was nowhere to put my sauce and food fell off etc so irritating and a bit messy! Good prices, lovely pub, the man who served us was really nice there is a peaceful cosy atmosphere. will def be back.

Weatherspoons just around the corner but this place takes the crown. Barmaid/waitress type of place and good size portions. Starters can be adjusted to mains and smaller portions available - they will alter dishes as you require without batting an eyelid. Very child friendly and seating good and varied.

Highly recommend this pub staff are lovely never had a bad meal portions are decent size and the prices are really good , relaxed atmosphere and remember it is a pub so can be busy on sat afternoons evenings with casual drinkers too if taking kids in

We first went back to the pageant on May Day and were totally surprised at the new decor and feel to the place! Since then we have been back a number of times to see a live band, karaoke or have a quick lunch. The staff are always very fast to serve drinks and the overall atmosphere of the pub is great! Looking forward to our next visit.

I just had to write a review following our May Day visit as the change is amazing! We hadn't realised this pub had been done up so were amazed when we popped in for some drinks and ended up staying all night! Great variety of drinks, quick staff and now a really tidy looking pub!

On arrival we were warmly greeted by the girl behind the bar. Food selection was traditional but varied. Pub is tastefully modernised, spacious and comfortable. Facilities and staff could not have been better. Service was excellent, and attentive.

A friend and I popped in to the Pageant,way after lunchtime, after wandering the beautiful rugged coastline of Arbroath..We felt an immediate warmth and welcome. The pub is traditional yet modern and cosy. The venison,juniper and redcurrant casserole was absolutely delicious.The meat was so tender, and the sauce deep and rich. The girl behind the bar was very resourceful, when I wanted a non alcoholic, yet interesting drink, she offered a strawberry & lime Koppaberg, which was very refreshing. I will certainly return to the pub next time I visit Arbroath.

A great town pub for food, wasn't too busy and I can't understand why as the food is yummy!! Pop in and try this little hidden gem

...when we have been there, so about 30 people in a very spacious place. Drinks were okay and staff was friendly. Afterwards we looked into other places but this was the busiest on a friday night. Still not an entertainment hotspot.

Come here often with friends/partner and love it. The food is very tasty with huge portions,love the macaroni and it's easy to end up staying past your meal having drinks in a very friendly pub.

Really enjoyed this pub. The food was excellent even though there was heaps on my plate. Good value for money. The staff were very friendly too. Would definitely recommend it.

We stopped in for a drink, but wound up having lunch and dessert. Food is awesome and their sticky toffee pudding is to die for. I had two!! Wait staff is very very friendly and helpful to tourists!

Great food freshly made to order,there is a comprehensive menu to suit all tastes and appetite, some of the food comes in half portions which is great if it's a lighter lunch you are after as well as vegetarian options

Pleasant surprise behind the dark exterior - nice atmosphere, roomy, good food, good pint and service and reasonable pricing - well worth a trip if you are on the high street

This place has recently been refurbished which has created a much warmer place than previously. The menu has recently also been updated. We eat here most months and I fully recommend the steak pie main course. On this occasion, I had the breaded haddock which was excellent. My daughter had the Cajun wrap which is a favourite of my family. All in all, this is a great place to eat with kitchen open until 8 for bookings. I would definitely recommend this place. They also have live music on Fridays and Saturdays that now have their own dedicated stage at the back which is much better than the last arrangement. Has a lunchtime drink on Sunday and the service was excellent. Prices were very good. This pub/restaurant is clean and meals are very reasonably priced although did not have time to eat, but when back in the area would certainly try out the steak pie.

Second visit to the pageant since the new menu began. Food is great and you get plenty for your money! Also do half portions for £5. Must try :)

I have only been working in Arbroath a few months and my work colleagues took me in here for lunch. Food was very decent priced and delicious. I decided to go back with my sister when she came to meet me one day and again couldnt fault the food. This time, however, I had more staff interaction and as well as great food at a reason price the staff were extremely helpful. A smile and a bit of chat costs nothing and goes a long way. I havent been anywhere else in Arbroath for lunch and having found this place dont intend to. I will definitely be back and would recommend this place to anyone

Great pub we had a ball. Was there fri and sat. Thay had music on both nites we truly enjoyed.All staff there are very good welcoming and very funny too!!! Loved it and will return.Well done you's!!!

A great pub, with service to match! We were invited there to a Celidh(???) the night of Scotland's Independence Vote & couldn't have been made more welcome than if we were family. For 6 Canadians traveling together, this was just what we needed but the next morning, my body would have disagreed with you! Just an excellent night - thank you!

£7 or so for a lunch main course. Friendly staff and good location in centre of Arbroath. Cheap and cheerful, would go again.
