Reading all the review I was really looking forward to our visit here. The staff were friendly and the place clean and tidy. I wanted a hot quiche but was told there would be a 20 minute wait so we both had cock-a-leekie soup . There was chicken and bit of leek but this was a very thin plate of soup with no real substance the ratio of stock to the other ingredients was poor. I was also upset by the fact that they allow dogs in the cafe. There was one sitting with it's owner in the corner and it whined all the time we were there . The owner did not seem to be bothered by this .

Fuimos al mercado de granjeros pargos rojos salteados, buen buen servicio y precio. sorprendidos por la calidad del tocino utilizada en los rollos. Podría decir que era calidad, muy sabroso

Great little pub, everyone welcome, felt like a home from home, (not that we stay in a pub)! Will definitely be back any time we are in Forfar.

A group of us went here for some cocktails and snacks. We pre-ordered bite boxes, 1 cheese, and 1 protein. The boxes are packed full of delicious goodies like cheeses, crackers, and deli meats. Cocktails are great, and there is a very relaxing atmosphere where people can sit and chat without having to shout over the top of music. 10 outta 10!

We met our daughters here for lunch for the first time. Didn’t realise it was here. It’s very nice and reminiscent of an old pub? A snooker place is here too. The staff were very pleasant and we were served promptly. The food we ordered was panini and salad and chicken burger. The food was nice. Could have done with a little more salad on the plate though. Coleslaw is very creamy if you like that sort of thing. We were under £20 a head and the was with 2 wines so not too bad. Will have to go back later at night to see what the menu is like but worth a visit

Popped in for a pit stop - chips, a bacon roll and a bowl of soup of the day, alongside a hot chocolate, a latte and a diluting juice. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food and drinks arrived quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed it all. A clean, busy establishment. Would visit again.

A great wee place, even in the pouring rain. The emphasis is on proper cafe food (think soups, toasties and jackets) done really well and followed up with a gorgeous homemade cake. Friendly and attentive service and lovely views out to the reserve itself make for a very nice setting for a leisurely lunch or coffee and cake
