Great little cafe with freindly staff, good simple cafe food and very reasonably priced. Very good coffee, very tasty Sri Lankan curry as a speciality and some real old fashioned home baking.

Great place to visit staff are happy to serve you and are very nice lots of choice on menu .food is quick to arrive at your table and always hot value for money

Visited here once before when passing through and returned, this time with our dog. Still lovely food in a very friendly little cafe. Would highly recommend

Terrible, I ordered 2 warm croissants and cheese plus a hot chocolate. Cost £15 so I was expecting something special! Ha… we received 2 BURNT croissants with grated cheese dumped on it. Was rock hard too. And took AGES. They have a brass neck to charges prices like that and serve rubbish. Will not be back.

This is a great place for lunch or meeting up with friends for coffee and cake. Lovely friendly efficient staff. Good selection of hot and cold snacks and more substantial dishes, and the homemade cakes are delicious. I have sampled quite a few over the years and have never been disappointed.

To begin - it is spotless. Really inviting, super little cafe. The man that runs the front of house operation along with the other staff are very friendly. I've been 2 or 3 times and had coffee & cake and I've had a meal - all were excellent. I was there with my husband when I had the meal, and the portion was generous and tasty, and with a friend for the coffee &cake - the cakes were lovely. I would highly recomend a visit, you won't be dissapointed.

Whilst on a business trip through Forfar, my family and I decided to stop off for a spot of lunch. We initially searched for a pub, however as it was a Tuesday, most were closed. We had high hopes for lunch here as other family members had excellent reviews of it. So we went inside, and were greeted by a lovely waitress who made us feel very welcome. There was nothing negative to note at first, except for the presence of only 2 other customers at the time and perhaps dated decor. We were served our drinks, which were OK, but we were charged £2.00 for not even a full can of Coke (unbranded also). We ordered, 2 cheeseburgers, 1 jacket potato with chicken tikka masala, 1 with prawns, and a kids chicken nuggets and beans. The prices were cheap, but the meat quality took the biscuit in my opinion. I was not pleased with the quality of my burger, seemingly being made from extremely processed, cheap beef. I neglected to tell the waitress because I could see it was a family-run business and I sympathised with them due to personal experience in hospitality. Despite my displeasure, I could live with a cheap burger. But the next day after ingesting some tasteless prawns, my mother woke up with an awful fever, sweats, and lethargy, and terrible diarrhoea and vomiting. We quickly deduced it was the prawns. It has been 2 days now and the illness is still working its way through. If you are ever in passing, please please please be careful what you order from Tiffins.

My husband and I stayed for the first time in Forfar to visit our friends who had moved here recently. First, I went one morning for a toasted teacake and vanilla cappuccino on my own and fell immediately in love with this beautiful café/restaurant. The same day I already went back again with my husband for lunch – he had an excellent curry and I had a lovely toastie. Then we came back with our friends for breakfast and we all loved the food, cakes, hot drinks and atmosphere with an incredibly friendly staff and proprietor. Now we're back in Germany but at least our Scottish friends can now and then say hello from us. We're missing Tiffins!

Currently on a solo trip up to forfar visiting family all the way from Wales and was feeling rather peckish. I stumbled across this gem of a cafe. What can I say! This place was clean tidy and cosy looking, I was welcomed at the door by a lovely young lady with lovely multicoloured hair (rocking the look BTW ❤️) she was so polite and very well spoken, she kindly offered me a place to sit and gave me a menu. I decided to have the mega breakfast and what a fabulous choice that was if I say so myself, I cannot remember the last time I had a breakfast that left me feeling full and satisfied, the breakfast was not greasy and was served pipping hot, and if I do say so myself it was one of the best breakfasts I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend this place not only for the food but for the friendly staff who make sure you are happy and content with everything. I will definitely be returning on my next visit.

Was driving through Scotland on Vacation and visited the lovely town of Forfar and stumbled across Tiffins while strolling down the main street. In short, the four of us had a wonderful lunch, with all of our meals being delicious, along with the owner and his wife, making us and comping a homemade Filipino dish for Juvy, and a homemade Chinese dish for Summer. Our server was very personable and immensely efficient. Also, the freshly baked desserts were off the charts, along with their coffees and lattes. Finally, Tiffins was immaculately clean...always a sign of caring to every detail by the owner and staff. Cannot wait to come back on our next trip to Scotland. Thank you to the Tiffins Team.

Popped in for a quick lunch. Just writing this review because the young women that served us today were exceptional, extremely polite, quick and efficient. The place is spotlessly clean and the foods good too.

The service was friendly and the coffee ok. Scones very dry and we needed extra butter and jam to make them edible. In fact we didn’t mange to finish them.

Called in here for lunch. The turmeric latte was delicious. We opted for the flats and fries, one with butter chicken, one with basa. Both were tasty with a lovely presentation that was a shame to eat. Glad we did though. Certainly worth a visit

Visited today for a quick lunch, excellent service, very well trained friendly staff. What I like about this little cafe is it’s spotlessly clean. The food is good and reasonably priced. Excellent range of cakes. Would definitely visit again.

We made a stop at Tiffins today and what an amazing experience! We have never been before and the staff there were so friendly. It was an unexpected gem of a place! We are travelling up to Inverness from Suffolk and wanted to grab some lunch and have a break with our 9 month old. From all the places in the world I have eaten curry I can honestly say it was the best I have ever eaten! Homemade and they are proud of it. My husband loved the pea and ham hock soup. Everything about our food was fabulous. 5 stars is not enough!! We will definitely return on our next trip. Thank you :)

COVID friendly with very nice staff. We had a sandwich and a toastie. Not much to write home about I’m afraid. Store bought bread, very ordinary, with not much filling considering we wanted all the options on it. A small side salad was .... small....

Nice , airy restaurant in centre of Forfar. Wide selection ranging from tray bakes , sandwiches through to meals. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was well presented and tasty. The deserts were obviously home made and delicious. Well worth a visit if in Forfar.

Firstly I have to say from where I sat I had a view into the kitchen every time someone went in or out of the doors and the place was spotless, even though they were busy. The cafe itself is immaculate, it's not often somewhere...

Found ourselves in Forfar looking for somewhere to eat, and decided on Tiffins purely on appearance from outside. It looks unpretentious and that is what it is. Once inside, it is clean and staff welcoming. The Sri Lankan owner is very friendly and keeps a close eye on the running of the restaurant.

I am a bit OCD, so hygiene is as important as the menu for me! Tiffins put me totally at ease, from the moment I stepped in! Everything from the cutlery to the decor was spotlessly clean. I got a brief view of the kitchen and that, too, was confidence-inspiring. The waitress was courteous, polite, and attentive. The service was fast, efficient, and the food was first class. If we lived in or near Forfar, I would be eating at Tiffins at least once a week.

Tiffins has been around for decades and hasn’t changed much since i used to come here as a little kid with my granny. The food is cheap and there is a good selection of sandwiches and cake for lunch. You also get a generous sized pot of tea.

Staff are friendly but coffee and scones not the best. I’d give this place a miss however seems to be popular with the locals

Next to Museum in Forfar. Wee, friendly, cosy coffee shop. Cakes/choc tray bakes look delicious, do soups and chicken curry!! Not hungry so only drink sandwich but will try again.

After visiting the Meffan Gallery we needed a break around 11 o'clock. My husband ordered a fruit scone (warm) and I had a toasted Teacake. Both very nice. The double shot in the cappuccino could have been stronger for me but maybe just for me.

Had a late lunch here today - panini with a lovely wee side salad. It was delicious. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and pleasant. Cakes all looked scrumptious too! Our first visit, but it won’t be our last. Thank you!

Popped in to Tiffins this week whilst in Forfar. My first ever visit. We had coffees (Latte and Cappuccino) and Apple and Cinnamon muffin - all delicious! Home baked cakes on display all looked tempting! Good selection of food on the menu.The cafe is nice and clean with friendly staff. Toilets are also clean and tidy. Centrally situated so ideal whilst out shopping. Would certainly recommend and hope to return again soon.

We have eaten at Tiffins on many occasions whilst visiting family & friends in Forfar. The food is always excellent and the owners and staff couldn't be friendlier. They are always smartly dressed and although busy, still find time to talk to you and be helpful. Good range of Scottish food, great range of cakes and even home made curry on the menu. If you visit this cafe you will not be disappointed.

Our walking team OOTANABOOT booked here for our after-walk treats and were not disappointed as the bacon and egg rolls, soup and cakes arrived swiftly as did the teas and coffees. We all agreed we would be back next time we are in Forfar. Thank you.

I was in Tiffin today with my dad who is now wheelchair bound quite recently so this is all new. I went in for lunch, the staff could not have done more to accommodate us moving tables and chairs to get him in. I would recommend this tea room for a visit. Food was excellent too.

We were passing in the car and spied it and parked. The first sight was a beautiful display of cakes etc.

I had a fantastic ham, cheese and pineapple toastie. My niece chose a chicken curry. Both of us agreed that our choices were gorgeous and among the best we'd had anywhere.

My wife and I favour this immaculate central cafe in Forfar for several reasons, the top one being their staffing ... which is consistently friendly, cheerily efficient and, further, the food ... which is beautifully presented and prepared afresh with a fine array of home-made cakes, bakes and confectionery to tempt the palette. I had their Mega Breakfast which is still a great bargain meal of the utmost integrity (a special mention to be made is the use of local butchery and the very best hash browns I've ever had) ... and my wife had a Roll with Lorne and a Latte. We shared a tray-bake thereafter and left replete. Tiffins Stiffens our Resolve to use such places regularly as we are great believers that local fare, at prices fair, should always be there ... in the mix of town centre assets throughout all Angus townships and villages.

When in Forfar, always pop in here for lunch. Quick, friendly service. Lovely variety of choices on menu, great traybakes and other cakes too.Food is always served piping hot. Great value also. Will definitely return again .

Tiffins is always my go to cafe in town. Like the friendly and efficient service. Food is honest and simple. Salad sides are fresh, can tell they consider this and look after quality.

Very good service, the cakes were all home made and the tea spot on. The staff who served us showed great knowledge and excellent service. Would recommend.

I chose lasagne which came with wedges AND salad. Lovely table service. Hot water in the Ladies plus antiseptic and paper towels. So much nicer to have paper towels than heating up the area with hand driers.

With a good menu of cooked food plus a large range of cakes and tray bakes this is a very good choice of cafe for lunch or afternoon tea

We had lunch in Tiffins today and it was excellent. Our Server (Waitress) was extremely friendly and helpful and the variety of food on the menu was brilliant. All Cakes and Sweet things on show on the counter were beautifully presented and looked gorgeous. The choice of beverages was, again, just perfect. We would definitely give Tiffin 5 Stars and will recommend to friends as "the place to eat" when in Forfar, Angus.

My grandma and I tried Tiffins for the first time this week Andy were no disappointed. Lots to choose from on the menu with typical lunch time fare with heavier main meals too. We both went for baked potatoes with salad. Good size portions but lacking seasoning on the filling. We had a tiffin slice each for afters and, whilst tasty, both were a little too rich and hard to slice! The staff were pleasant and friendly and prices reasonable. Very enjoyable indeed.

This was our second visit and the standard of food and service was excellent.It was good to see the cafe full. We stuck to the Tiffin breakfast - the sausages come from the nearby butchers (there are several excellent ones in Forfar) and I brought some home. Possibly we should try something else next time. The owner was, again, working hard to keep the customers happy. Nice to see.

Hadn't been in to this busy and popular wee cafe for a while but we were passing and the wife suggested it, having had a good perusal of the boards outside, so in we ventured. I was going to have the soup but it was all gone, no surprise ... I opted for Stovies with Corned Beef and a Big Bannock. My wife chose a Halumi Cheese Salad ... and when our meals arrived, I was very pleasantly not surprised ... but thrilled to experience, yet again, the excellence of food presentation and waitressing from the fair hand of our favourite red-haired serving girl. In the context of small businesses in a highly competative enivornment such as Forfar, this modest but very well-run Cafe truly excels.

Just had our Saturday lunch at a place we haven't been in for ages ... and, of course, to again check that they are keeping up the high standards of good old-fashioned food and service we have become accustomed to when we hit this lovely little lunch spot in Forfar.

Stopped off in Forfar yesterday and found this lovely cafe quite by chance. The staff were excellent, friendly and very efficient. The food was excellent and the cakes and tray bakes fabulous. So glad we came upon the great little cafe. Will definitely call in again.

Having taken my mother-in-law to an early hospital appointment in Whitehills, Forfar, today, she had advised me not to have breakfast at home as she insisted she would like to treat me to "Breakfast at Tiffany's", an offer I could not refuse. We each had the "Full Monty" consisting two eggs, three rashers of bacon (rhind and fat removed) one butcher's sausage and two half slices of fried bread, accompanied by a piping pot of tea for two... all for £12 including the tip.A great breakfast in a great little restaurant... well managed, nicely cooked, served and presented.

Visited this place again last week. As always found the food and service in this place excellent. Varied menu and lovely staff. Excellent service. Keep up the good work.

just moved to Forfar at the tail end of last year and been going through all the local coffee houses to see whats the best, the price is a little high in my opinion but the food is excellent and the staff and manager cant do enough to help you

Always enjoy coming here. Coffee is best in Forfar, and the cakes & tiffin absolutely delicious. Restaurant/cafe is well presented, clean and nicely decorated. Always a delight & never disappointed.

Sharmee's Authenticate Chicken Curry is wonderful. But the whole menu has something for everyone and the cakes are to die for. This is a lovely place to eat, always very welcoming, great food and happy smiling efficient staff. Can wait to return.

Passed this little tearoom whilst out on a walk in Forfar and decided to go back at the end of the walk as it looked so reminiscent of times gone by! The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and the selection of cakes and traybakes for our afternoon cuppa was amazing! We intend making this tearoom a regular stop when we are caravanning in the nearby site, as we would like to sample EVERYTHING on the menu. I had the a vanilla slice and my partner chose the toffee apple pie - absolutely delicious!! Will try lunch next time.

What a great little cafe, this unassuming place in the Great Angus Town of Forfar. My good lady and I spend a fair bit of time on the road. And, needless to say, but we sample a lot of different lunch stops on our travels. All I would like to say about Tiffins of Forfar is... if you find yourself hungry in the county town during the day, you'd be severely pushed to find a better watering hole than this. This establishment is ably run by a wonderful gentleman whose staff's efficiency and demeanour truly reflect his own generously humble and grateful own. His home cooked food, top class baking and beverage selection should satisfy the fussiest customer. And, finally, the whole business model and menu provide first rate value for money.

We had a breakfast, cake and cuppa. The staff were attentive and scrupulously clean. Cake was fantastic and the breakfast was great too. The cafe is clean and very well maintained. All staff were friendly and helpful. A real asset to Forfar.

The Curry Special is always delicious as are the Home made soups. There is a wide array of panini fillings, sandwiches and croissants.It is extremely difficult to decide which of the wonderful tray bakes and cakes to have and the Apple Caramel pie is scrumptious.The staff are very pleasant and service is prompt.

Reasonable priced fresh cooked food, delicious homemade baking all reasonably priced. Staff are healpfull and friendly and quick to help. I pop in often for a cuppa or a snack.

I went in with my son and my daughter. They made a space for my pram to fit in without prompting and were so friendly. I had a baked tattie and my son had chicken nuggets, the potatoes was soft and buttery, lush. the highlight of our visit was the nutty fudge sundae which was gorgeous!! I definitely insist people go along on a hot day and try one. I have no faults with this cafe at all.

With an extensive and popular menu served by the most polite creatures you are likely to come across in any restaurant, Tiffins quite simply is a treat. Clean, quick and simple, the food is beautifully cooked. The furnishings also are comfortable and tidy. We go there often and will continue..

I went to Tiffins once and now i have made many visits, it feels nice and warm, the food was cheap and of a decent quality, all basic nothing special but i felt quite at home.

Went herefor a cuppy with my husband after a bit of shopping. started off fine. Girls serving were nice and what we had to eat and drink was fine but the biggest problem with our visit was the fact that the girls started hoovering the restaurant when there was paying customers still there. Might return but we will be in and out before 3.30

I have been here many times, this is my 1st review and I am sad to say this was my most disappointing visit. My colleague had a lasagne dish with wedges. He left quite a bit of it and the lasagne wasn't brilliant. I had a scone and it was extremely dry. With it I got an apricot preserve from a plastic packet, what I wanted was a small tub of strawberry jam and same of clotted cream. I was so disappointed. Just a little more thought and they were there. I would say that this place makes amazing cakes and is renowned for it. It clearly has its regulars. I will go back and hope they have read this before I do.

Dropped into this delightful café for an afternoon cuppy with my sister after a days shopping. This place has a varied menu with choices of main meals or cakes and snacks. Lovely food and excellent service and reasonably priced.

Excellent for meeting friends for coffee or lunch. We live locally therefore its easy for me to visit. Its very difficult to decide which cake you wish to have, however if you have good friends you can order 4 different cakes and all have piece of ech, yum yum. Coffee is good also. The staff are well trained and all are keen to help and are very polite.

This is a lovely place to visit and the staff so friendly. Can only comment on the cakes and coffee but both were delicious. Cakes we had ....all homemade. I think if this place was bigger it would lose the cosy ambience. Keep up the good work.

I always visit this restaurant when I visit my daughter and we go into Forfar.THE food is excellent, the curry is beautiful and home made, and the cakes well thy are to die for. All very reasonable priced also.THE management and staff are always so welcoming and the service is excellent.I would give Tiffin's 5 stars
