We stayed for three nights at the Pennyghael Inn while we explored the Isle of Mull and visited Iona. It was promoted as being open for food all day, but we discovered on arrival that breakfast had to be pre-ordered and was just tea and toast. There was no restaurant service before 5pm and no one available at the inn during the day. Our room was only serviced one day which was also disappointing

We were recommended to go to Simpsonâs by the wonderful staff at Peterhead Prison Museum, who told us they make the best soup there. Cold, hungry and excited at this prospect, we headed to the tearoom. Sadly the soup was off the menu for me, as it was ham & lentil and Iâm vegetarian. Disappointing. My cousin enjoyed the soup. Instead, I ordered a cheese and pineapple toastie. I was asked if I wanted the crisps, salad and coleslaw. I politely declined the coleslaw but relished the prospect of the crisps and salad. The toastie was delicious. Imagine my surprise when my salad consisted of a very few bits of chopped iceberg lettuce, ONE slice of cucumber and HALF a cherry tomato! Not only that - just THREE crisps were placed on my plate. Iâve always wondered what happened to that other half a cherry tomato âŠâŠ.

Enjoyed a nice breakfast in the lovely setting of the garden centre restaurant. The young servers are very attentive and provide excellent service. My husband had the Scottish breakfast which was huge and well presented. His sausage was a little tough, but everything else was very good. I had a croissant which I found a little bit dry. Coffee was excellent. It's a lovely garden centre to wonder around too.

We went for lunch on a Wednesday when normally only bar foods are available but owing to a misunderstanding we expected a cooked lunch. Their staff could not have been more helpful and moved "heaven and earth" to ensure that our party of 6 was provided with the meal they thought that they had been expecting

My husband and I stopped by here for lunch. The train ticket we had purchased had taken us to Tweedbank, but we quickly reboarded after realizing there were many more options to be had in Galashiels. Dave's was one of the places that popped up after a Google query. Despite having just made it past the lunch rush, the person at the counter was very cordial. We told he that we were celebrating our first anniversary/latermoon and gave us a baked treat and a recommendation for a nearby park whereby to enjoy it. I'd highly recommend Dave's if you are looking for a tasty yet affordable lunch spot.

This was to be our one night of âluxurious accommodationâ after touring for 10 days in b&bâs. Turns out that the b&bâs were the luxury (Waterâs Edge Cottage on Loch Lomond, Heatherfield House on Skye and Springfield Lodge in Stirling, all superb 5*). Paid ÂŁ229.50 for one night back in March for a Superior double room, which now looks nothing like the current photo on the web site. Old fashioned especially the bathroom, room overlooked the loch but through a small window you needed to be standing up to see through. Decided not to eat here so it was fish and chips in the car in Fort Augustus. Much more expensive than the rest so our verdict was âvery âdisappointingâ and a poor choice. Wine by the bottle not the glass!

Tienen comidas muy sabrosas y un personal muy acogedor. La comida es buena y a un precio razonable. đđœâš Este es un gran lugar para los amantes de las hamburguesas, en mi opiniĂłn. đđ

We decided on an early lunch so were the second table in a very quiet bar, ordered lunch with a nice friendly waitress who came back after a few minutes to say the soup had changed but it wasn't to our taste. Still not sure how they'd run out of soup so early! The main courses were piping hot and tasty.
