Memorable and exceptional tasting menu, must be one of the best in Scotland, not just Stirling. Setting the highest of standards.

First time visiting An Dárna and we’ll return. The food was outstanding and the wine complimented all courses beautifully. Our favourite dish was the pork, it was delicious. All dishes were beautifully presented and very well balanced. The service was excellent, so attentive and nothing was too much bother. The only downside was the restaurant was quite cold at the start of the evening.

Just scraped a 3/5 as I’m feeling generous. Restaurant is a bit tired, seating & tables mainly booth style & in serious need of updating. Toilets really not great, again need attention. Staff good, helpful & knowledgeable. They dealt with the food allergies appropriately. The dishes are very small and carry too many elements for their size. We all struggled to identify the flavours offered on the menu as some in such small quantities they were lost. Some dishes just a bit beige. The smoked chicken was very dry. As was the pork belly. Cured trout, which was cut into small cubes, had a bone in it. Saying that the Duck was excellent, but portion needed to be bigger- the beetroot & black pudding overwhelmed it. Tarragon panda cotta excellent as was the apple crumble dessert. Strawberry ice cream sandwich- biscuit was too fatty and the strawberry vinegar gel inedible. Came away feeling not great value & should concentrate a few things done well.

We really enjoyed our evening here; best food we had in our trip to and from Fife. It’s imaginative, tasty, really well presented and the service was super friendly and relaxed. The tasting menu gives a lot of choice. The wine pairings were excellent. By far the best place we found in Stirling, and better than we expected by far.

We were happy to stumble upon this restaurant - we were looking for something different than pub food. Tasting menu is delightful and the service is great. Well priced, too! Great meal.

From first impressions, this was not going to live up to fine dining claims. The front door is battered and tired, the furnishings are definitely not fine dining. The food was mostly bland. My father pushed two courses aside as inedible (duck and lamb) and mine were overly complex, but still bland (pea starter, scallop course). I freedive for scallops and know how good they can be, but this was disappointing. The pork shoulder was nice and the sea bream was okay. The desert was mediocre. If you are looking for fine dining, I suggest Edinburgh.

Visited for lunch, the whole experience from start to finish was perfect. Tried foods that I wouldn’t normally pick from a menu and all were delicious (although jury still out on the melon rind kimchi 😊). The wine pairing worked well bringing out the flavours of the food. The food and wine is described when brought to the table which is a really nice touch. Highly recommend.

Visited on a Saturday evening with family as a group of 4. We loved the idea of the menu with five courses with a choice of three for each! So much so we couldn’t choose between them, so my partner chose different to me and we shared, meaning we got to try 10 dishes! Each course was unique and the flavours incredible. I particularly enjoyed the pigeon, monkfish and sole. The experience was lovely, we had a small booth which felt very intimate. The staff were impeccable and reeled off the ingredients of each dish with ease. We only wished we lived nearer!! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening ✨

Visited on a Friday night for the 5 course tasting menu and paired wines. Restaurant was quiet when first arrived at 6pm but soon livened up with other tables. Staff kindly explained set up and there’s 3 options per course which I thought was quite good. Our water glasses and flutes from the bubbly however appeared to be plastic which I would not expect in a restaurant charging £120+ for this dining experience. My cutlery handles also had bits of food still stuck on them from previous use - husband took off with napkin and didn’t say anything but again should be something that was spotted. Food was all lovely - perhaps as other reviews have picked up on and could be bigger portions and also had a couple where they could have been warmer. Wines were nice, I particularly liked my white that went with the cod. Staff explaining wine and food at each service which was good. Ladies bathroom light wasn’t working and flickering on and off which after the wines meant it felt like a nightclub and seriously dizzying! Overall, there were some really good aspects of our night but others we thought were basics that didn’t hit the mark especially given three figure bill at the end.

I rarely give 5 stars but this restaurant deserves every single one. We had the evening 5 course tasting menu, and unlike other fine dining establishments Ive eaten in this one offers you a choice of 3 dishes for each course( other restaurants have set tasting menus). It also looks as if the the menu changes throughout the year. The food was exceptional and extremely tasty. Service from our waitress kirsten was great. A very pleasant woman who was extremely dilligent and attentive. She described each course to us,filled our drinks when appropriate, chatted with us and generally made the meal a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. Price too was exceptional at £94 for food wine and coffee. Can't wait for the menu to change for another visit later in the year

This is a dining experience! Each of the 5 courses has a choice of 3 dishes. 5 courses sounds a lot, but the portion size is very small so therefore it is easy to do justice to all 5 courses. The meat dishes were especially delicious; the meat was beautifully cooked and meltingly tender. I was comfortably full by the end, though my husband said he could have coped with slightly bigger portions! Dessert was perhaps the least impressive though still good. It was billed as tiramisu and came with a mascarpone ice lolly. I'd have liked less ice cream and more tiramisu, but this is a minor gripe. Restaurant was a wee bit chilly, so I'd bring an extra layer. All in all, a lovely experience and we will definitely be back. Great for Stirling to have somewhere offering such amazing quality of food. I'd highly recommend!

We enjoyed our meal here, although the portion sizes were small-as somewhat expected from a tasting menu but we did have to nip for a snack elsewhere a few hours later. The pairing wines were nice to accompany the courses, but over the piece, my wife and I thought the cost of the meal and wines was a little overpriced for this venue. The restaurant was very plain and on this night, extremely cold with no real heating on apart from 2 blowers over doorways. We have given 4star but we personally will not be back anytime soon, but hope that the restaurant develops and improves.

We have just returned from another visit to the wonderful An Darna. We brought our family this time and, like us, they loved this place. Our daughter in law is vegetarian and she really appreciated the care that had gone into the vegetable options, often sadly lacking elsewhere. We loved the food and the excellent wine pairings. Service efficient and friendly. Really good evening. We will be back!

I am so delighted that Stirling FINALLY has a fine dining restaurant with excellent food, wine pairings and top notch service. For £37 for a 5 course taster meal that changes every five weeks, I have one word. 'Wow!' This restaurant truly is Michelin star worthy. Go. You won't be disappointed!

We were visiting Stirling for the weekend and booked this to try. What a lovely meal! All the food we had was delicious and was presented beautifully by the waitress. We also did the wine pairing but not sure if I would do that part again as I don’t think the choices were to the same standard as the food. Will definitely return for dinner the next time we are in Stirling.

4 of us had the 5 course lunch menu with pairing wine last Sunday. The food was faultless and fantastic value for money at £25 for 5 courses (£15 extra for pairing wines). It’s so refreshing to see somewhere trying something different in the pedestrian food scene in Stirling. The food was very well presented and the five courses were well-balanced. The chef’s take on turkey was my highlight and the carrot ketchup was a great match. The Xmas pudding came as an ice lolly and was the best Xmas pudding I’ve ever tasted. Anyone looking for a really good meal in Stirling need look no further. Excellent stuff!

Enjoyed a fantastic tasting menu here with the wine pairing. The service was impeccable, the staff were knowledgeable and enthusiastic in describing the wine and food and how they would marry together. The food was of an excellent standard, especially at the price point. It was very well presented with some superb flavors. The food timings were also perfect, we've had other tasting menus elsewhere where you wait 40mins between courses! Not here, even with a full restaurant and a big table eating as the same time as us! We had an excellent evening meal and kook forward to a return visit. Thanks to all the team at the Andarna, you smashed it! We'll be back!

Absolutely amazing restaurant. We went during the August tasting menu and had the wine pairings. It was an unreal standard! Everything was beautifully presented to the point where our jaws dropped for every meal. Such intricate details, thought, creativity and theatrical elements in each dish. Everyone has their phones out in the restaurant taking photos. We were honestly blown away, it was seriously worth every Penny. I think this may have been the best dinner I have ever had at a restaurant. Every bite had such flavour, it was mouth wateringly good. Compliments to the chef and to the whole team. A truly unforgettable night. The waiter with the wines knew his stuff too, was very entertaining and interesting to listen to. Staff were all nice. I think it was well priced too for the amazing standard. As the tasting menu changes every month, I will definitely 100% return and am already looking forward to the next meal.

This was a marvellous experience. Don’t be fooled by the laid-back atmosphere! In An Darna, it is apparent that careful thought has gone into every detail: the decor and soft furnishings; the lighting and seating; the knowledgeable and friendly staff and - of course - the food. The five course tasting menu changes every five weeks. There are three options throughout, one of which is vegetarian, and we saw for ourselves that other dietary requirements are catered for at An Darna with ease and understanding. What planning must go into developing such a menu full of scintillating tastes! Each dish is imaginative and I - for one - was charmed by the signature lolly which, I was told, is a recurring motif in each menu. In my case, it arrived in savoury form and the light truffle and veg combination was truly delicious. I loved each and every course and without doubt, I will return to An Darna again and again, as will my friends. An Darna insists on using only the best of local seasonal products and that in itself suggests to me that this is a restaurant that really does cater for those for whom food is a true pleasure.

It was our first time in your restaurant and we had an amazing evening and we would like to say a big thank you to the kitchen, the food was delicious. We couldn't find any words for it and the wines that went with it were perfect. And another very important thing for me is that we felt very, very comfortable. The reason for this was our waitress, she always had a smile on her face, no matter how busy she was, she described the individual dishes so perfectly. She made our evening just perfect and we just want to say THANK YOU. we will definitely come back

My son who has mental health issues and his son who by the way is autistic , came to mcnabbs to get out of the snow today. They were soaked through and were there to wait to be picked up,as they had been waiting two hours on a bus in the freezing cold. Having bought drinks in the bar , they were asked to leave because there was a funeral on. It wasn’t appropriate for them to be there said the staff . Was it appropriate when they bought drinks from you? How heartless do you have to be to throw a child a dog and two adults back out into the snow . You are disgusting shameless profiteers. Couldn’t you have offered somewhere else for them to sit ? Customer service ? What customer service? Shame on you .And just for an added bonus my grandson was so stressed he had a nosebleed. My son had already contacted me to ask me to come to pick them up and told me he had bought a drink and hot drinks for his family, no mention of you can’t come in or we can’t sell you a drink as this is a private function, so although the owner states I wasn’t there , neither was the owner as a staff member came over and spoke to my son, who says that he explained the situation and told the staff member my grandsons feet were soaking and he was freezing but was still asked to leave. I don’t have any bias, except for the treatment of my family. If you have no problem with your actions, why haven’t you mentioned the fact that you did tell them to leave after selling them a drink and allowing them in?

A very poor experience in terms of food quality and service. It certainly didn't live up to it's claim of "equisite dining"...where we would.."Indulge in a culinary journey".(unless the destination was mediocrity). We were there as a group of about 14 in a private room for the xmas menu and we had eaten here the previous year also, when the food was OK, but not great. This year it was much poorer. The scallops were absolutely tiny! The cod was NOT cod, not sure what it was but as someone who has worked in the UK fish industry for many years, it was most definitely not cod. The same happened last year when it was a bass or bream fillet (also called "cod" on the menu) but was quite tasty so I didn't mind so much then. This time it was a fish with quite soft and tasteless flesh. We had to chase some drinks orders several times as they didn't appear, sometimes eventually turning up after about 20 minutes. The sticky toffee pudding was on freezing cold plates, which made the sauce cold and sponge barely warm...just about room temperature. One sticky toffee pudding that was ordered with vegan ice cream didn't appear until we had chased it a couple if times and everyone else had finished. We won't be back next year. Perhaps we should have complained more at the time, but it's supposed to be a fun time, not one when as well as chasing food and drinks, we have to moan about everything and kill the atmosphere.

We popped in here for lunch while passing for the first time and were glad we did. The service was good, very quick and efficient, staff were very friendly. There is a good selection on the menu and even a dog menu, which our dogs loved! The soup was delicious and toasties were tasty but a little burnt around the sides so we couldn't even bite into some of them. They have no disabled parking which is disappointing. We will definitely pop in again if passing!
