The reviews rated this takeaway highly and it lived up to all the positive comments. We got an Indian meal takeaway but it does pizzas also. Portions are very generous - excellent value for money, really tasty, fresh and “clean”. Check out the lemon and cashew nut rice 😍. Delicious!!

Loved our selection of curries again from the team at the tandoori. Excellent food and fast becoming a favourite. Kids enjoying the tasty masala and korma. Top notch

when my mum cant cook because of my baby sister we always order from her the main guy is an amazing person and the food is the same I love this place and I know a lot of people that go here that also love it is a privilege to live near such an establishment 😊

Really sorry, don't normally give negative reviews, but we couldn't even get fork into the meat in the curry as it was so tough. Won't be going back. Hopefully this can be looked at by chefs and sorted for others.

Some of the nicest curry’s I ever had, freshly cooked and absolutely delicious, we had take away twice from here on our weeks holiday - and I don’t usually like take aways!

Brilliant take away. Every dish was excellent. Couldn’t fault any of it. Just a pity we are on holiday as it will be too far to travel when we go home!!

Haven’t been in ages, not sure why, but felt the need for a takeaway and this was fast and easy. Online ordering is easy and convenient. Food was well cooked and good value for money. Family all very happy indeed. Won’t leave it as long for the next visit.

I have never given a one star rating before but this was an awful meal. Tandoori Chicken was overcooked as was the Chicken Tikka Masala. The Tandoori Mixed Grill was the same. The rice was all stuck together in big clumps. The papadoms which were crispy were the best part of the meal. Very disappointing and service was poor.

We have been a few times now, the food is always good. Lovely flavours, good portion sizes and lots of variety. However, since the girl who used to work there has left everything seems a bit disorganised, mistakes in orders, and they seem rather overwhelmed (a lad said his order wasn't even put through because he didn't give a name). They were rude but maybe because they were flustered. It was a lot smoother when she was there, was a lovely quine and had worked there for years so rarely made mistakes and knew how long to allocate for the orders being ready. I was always impressed with how quickly and efficiently she managed to do all the jobs while the boy who was supposed to help just sat on his phone. Food is still good, one of.the best takeaways around here.

The order online facility to collect is very useful. Ordered a Friday night take away. Portions are a good size, very tasty and was ready on time for collecting. Chicken dishes had loads of decent sized chunks of chicken in it, and every dish was nice.

Was in Alford visiting family and opted for an easy take away. I wasn’t expecting an Indian takeaway in a small town to be SO GOOD! There’s a really big selection to choose from. Everything everyone ordered was amazing. I had the Goan curry with chicken tikka which was amazing. I tried some of the Rajasthani Bhuna which was also delicious. They also give nice big portions which meant I didn’t just enjoy it for dinner, but for lunch the next day as well. Basically if you are near Alford and want some flavoursome, tasty currys order from here! (But you need to go collect it as they don’t deliver... but it will be worth the trip)

The best compliment I can pay this place is that every time I have a curry, I think, "it's good, but not the Alford tandoori." This from someone who has eaten in most of the famous Glasgow curry-houses. The peshwari naan is unmatched, always beautifully made. We love the chicken Dhansak, a great medium strength curry, with thick sauce and always tender chicken. I would also recommend the badami rice, a lovely change to plain pilau. The consistency is amazing too; over 5 years of ordering and we've seldom been let down. Our family always request it when visiting! Great work Sid and the team.

I live near Alford so regular eat from the Alford Tandoori and I have never been disappointed. I am vegetarian so struggle to find a decent Indian. I would highly recommend the garlic naans which are massive and the madras. My family have also been impressed with the meat options and the size of the portions. Great!

This is one of the best Indian takeaway restaurants I have used. Food is always cooked to perfection and isn’t greasy. I always have the veg pakora which comes with a lovely salad and the finest yellow sauce. Pathia can be very hot but awesome and we enjoy a masala.

Very tasty takeaway food. Good sized portions at reasonable prices. 2 mains with a couple of sides and a naan can easily feed 4 as long as you're not totally pigging out.

Fab. Indian takeaway. Always lovely. Good prices but please do a bit of cleaning. Even the card machine disgusting too touch.

This place is perfect for a family takeaway - I adore the pizza and my husband and parents are huge fans of Indian food. Never had a bad meal - always fresh and delicious, and reasonably priced!

I love this take away and feel it is one of the few in the area that continues to serve consistently really good curries.I am a vegetarian and it caters well for non meat eaters and meat eaters alike.The staff are efficient and friendly.

Como soy un amante de curry estaba encantado con la comida. Yo y mi hijo tienen nuestra curry viernes y quedamos muy satisfechos con lo que nos dieron y el servicio de atención al cliente era genial. Recomiendo encarecidamente visitar este lugar. Como no soy representante de alford, he estado en muchos restaurantes indios y tengo que decir que este es mi favorito.

we ordered take away from here a few weeks ago with the expectation of a good meal due to some good reviews. the food we got was inedible due to a complete lack of flavour and a massive amount of salt. if i wanted coronary artery disease i would pour salt into my cereal. not worth the money

Had a number of carry out curries recently and they have all been very good. Large portions which were very tasty. The staff were friendly and helpful as well.

Arrived at opening time, 1630. We were the first customer on a Friday afternoon a couple of weeks ago Nice friendly girl took our order. Sylheti Chicken, Tandoori Garlic Chilli Chicken and Chicken Bengal Exotica. 12 minutes later we were leaving with them and some poppadoms etc.They were all absolutely delicious, full of flavour with nice thick sauces. Will be back for more.

Ordered food and half an hour later it was ready. Was torture driving back in the car with the lovely smells coming from the bags. All food was really good,

Take away was lovely curries very good felt pakora pieces too big and not worth it nan bread had room for improvement in garlic nan

I have been going to Alford Tandoori every weekend for 4 years ever since it opened.Sid and his staff are always very welcoming and serve the most delicious food.It is always full of flavour and cooked to perfection.

Such great food, has a variety of choices. Excellent service, everyone who works their are really welcoming. The prices are even better.

Alford Tandoori is my favourite takeaway. The staff are brilliant and friendly, who always try their hardest to answer any question or fix any problem that occurs. The food is wonderful, always served hot as it's cooked after you order it. I have had many dishes from here, a few of my favourite mains are the Monpura, Chasni, Passanda, and Bhuna. I have never had anything to complain about with any of the meals.I think the previous comments refer to if you carry out and drive a long distance before eating, where obviously the food would have cooled, and that's what a microwave is for! The Tandoori itself is very bright and welcoming, there's comfortable chairs with magazines and a TV for you to read or watch as you wait for your food. Although the service is great, and you're barely waiting long. I am a regular customer, and will be for a very long time! Fully satisfied with this Take-Away :-)

I really like to support small local business enterprises. But, this was a very poor effort, the food quality was just not very good at all. Meal was badly prepared and cooked, naan bread was tough, tasteless. Food was cold and very disappointing, also, when collecting the food I noticed food had been dropped on the floor of the food preparation area and not cleared up......they were not busy....enough said.I ordered the following all as starters:1 x vegetable pakora (£3.50)1 x onion bhaji (£3.50)1 X chicken chat puri (3.95)2 X chicken tikka (£7.10)1 x garlic mushrooms (£3.35)1 x pilau rice ( £2.80)2 x plain naan (£5.00)Total paid £29.20. Had it tasted good and been warm I still think that it would have been very poor value, as it was, I would have been better off going to the co-op and buying a ready meal for two, at least the quality and taste would have been OK. Really sorry, guys, bad show, you have just lost a customer.

Had carryout lamb curry. It was awfull. Too much vinegar or lemon - it was very acidic. The meat was hard/overcooked. If I hadnt travelled so far to pick it up I'd have taken it back. Sorry but I wont be going back. Shame.

We have been to the Alford Tandoori twice now and both times we were very impressed with the food. Service is friendly and there isn't too long a wait for your takeaway to be ready. There is a huge choice of Indian dishes.... and the usual European dishes that we didn't even cast our eye over! The portions are huge and we have never been able to finish all of our meal yet!.... nevermind ...it tastes just as good the next day! ;-) I think if you order over £20 or £25 you get free popadoms + 3 dippy things...onion, yogurt and mango!We ordered Chicken Tikka Massala, Lamb Tikka Manchorian (yum! out of this world!), 2 Pilau Rice and 1 enormous Peshwari Naan! This came to £25 so you get the Popadoms etc with that. and although it was intended to feed 2 people, I think it could easily of fed 3 and that's coming from two people with hearty appetites!Highly recommend this takeaway!
