Rajpoot in Aberdeenshire

We love this place - we manage a couple of visits every month and always have a great time. Staff are always on it, buzzing around and trying their very to keep everyone happy even when the place is full at the weekends. It buzzes then, but with a nice sort of noisy friendly ambiance. The menus been tweaked recently and there’s a few new dishes worth trying, It’s not the cheapest, nor is it traditional but judge by the taste and quality of the ingredients.. a few fusion dishes that are very clever and so tasty. Don’t know anything about the deserts and coffees cause in all the years, we’ve never had the space nor felt the need for same. We drink beer, love our curries and sit around with our pals talking rubbish … all in the best restaurant around - well done Rajpoot !

I’ve now been to Rajpoot 5 times and there is a theme, the food is great, full of flavour and the meat is good quality. The staff are good but there isn’t enough of them! From sitting down to eating it takes over an hour. Which is too long. So the food is good, but the service is slow. The prices paid are that of a top end product restaurant so I’d expect the service to reflect that and it doesn’t.

The food was delicious. Really friendly staff and a nice setting. Well worth booking ahead as it was very busy. We will definitely be going back.

It was our first visit to the Rajpoot in Inverurie. We went out as couples and didn’t regret it. Excellent food and service. We would definitely recommend it.

We came here last night for a reunion of old school friends. The staff could not have been more attentive and accommodating without even realising the significance of the event, clearly valuing every customer. We all agreed that the food was delicious, I struggled to share my tandoori king prawns they were so delicious! Highly recommended ❤️

Not too far from the center of Inverurie, it was a nice first time out at Rajpoot. We had a table booked for two and were warmly greeted on arrival and shown to our table. The menu had lots of classics but new things to try. I'd recommend the poppadoms and chutney to start while you choose drinks and food, they are delicious and arrived very quickly. We were waited upon by a couple of different people and they were all very nice and had good conversations. They were on hand to answer questions about the food. There was a lovely wine and drinks selection to accompany the food and everything was very reasonably priced. Our food was beautifully presented and didn't take long, I'd recommend trying something new but also the classic chicken korma is glorious with the egg pilau rice and peshawari naan. Overall lovely service, very attentive staff, lovely atmosphere and vibes for date night, good prices and we even got a free drink for our first time there from the host! Highly recommend to food lovers!

Our regular and most favourite local Indian restaurant- for all the right reasons! Attentive, friendly service, nice surroundings, a decent range of choice and food that’s fresh, tasty and simply delicious. A home from home and an essential part of the local community - well done to all the staff who put a lot of effort into looking after their customers.

I have often visited the Rajpoot always found the staff, the service, the presentation and the food first class. My most recent visit was no exception. What made this latest visit even more satisfying was the fact that we took family from down Edinburgh way along. They were absolutely blown away by the meal. They commented that this was the best Indian meal that they had ever had!!! That coupled to the fantastic presentation just made the whole evening an amazing experience. It was a very quiet Monday evening but every aspect of our visit was superb and it made us feel so good to have given our family such a great night out. Thank you Rajpoot!!!

Been recommended the Rajpoot for many months finally hot around to trying it out, was not disappointed at all. Menu is a little limited and uninspiring however all the expected options are there plus a balti special part of the menu. poppadoms were excellent and dips a good range from lime chutney to a sweet chilli.. Mains were special korma and a hot balti with a pilau, peshwari and bombay spuds, absolutely tremendous and a good portion size. A comp Macallan was a nice touch.. Reasonably priced and outstanding service leaves a good impression.

Absolutely amazing food every time we come. Consistency is the key in restaurants and this place goes above and beyond . Great staff and service also. Get yourself in here. Best Indian food in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire and trust me I’ve eaten in loads of them in the past.

We go here regular - best Indian restaurant in the area by a country mile; food is delicious- great range and diversity, something for everyone’s taste and a few cheeky chefs specials that are stand-outs. Service is on it like a car bonnet … friendly and nothing a trouble. Busy as hell at weekends, and can get a bit log jammed, but hang on in there and enjoy a smashing meal.

My wife and I visited our favourite local Indian restaurant last night. Although we had not been for some time, we were welcomed as if it had only been last week. We were shown straightaway to our table and our drinks order taken. These arrived promptly which was appreciated. We were given ample time to decide on our orders so did not feel pressurised. Although I had a couple of special requests, these were no problem to the staff. I had ordered a keema naan as a starter. In another local restaurant, this was served with my main course which was disappointing. We both thoroughly enjoined our meals and will certainly return. A word of warning. The restaurant was full so, if you are intending to go, especially at weekends, you will be advised to book in advance.

Visited many times before but tonight had 50 minute wait (and no apology) for this wait. We ordered a takeaway during lockdown to celebrate our wedding anniversary, wish we hadn’t bothered. We ordered online and were given a collection time . . . when my husband arrived to collect our takeaway was advised our takeaway wasn’t ready as the kitchen had just opened! The salad pots were stale and consisted of slimy cucumber! My chicken tandoori starter smelled and tasted of fish, yuck! I ordered a hot dish described as three chillis on the menu, it was bland and not spicy in the slightest. We did email Rajpoot with our feedback but it wasn’t even acknowledged!

We just had our 1st Rajpoot family treat of the lockdown - as delicious as always and the staff working very hard to turn orders round ASAP!

First take away last night during COVID . Worst food ever from rajpoot. Chicken tikka soggy and tasted of cooked butter , tikka sauce was watery and tasteless . Husbands curry was dry and bland and my daughter did the mushroom rice tasted of cinnamon . Very disappointed. Won’t be ordering again £42 in the bin !!

We eat at this restaurant regularly, and we are never disappointed. The food is always fantastic and the service warm and friendly. The Manager always makes a point of asking if we are enjoying ourselves, and we usually get a complimentry aperitif. Reference the two recent negative reviews, I feel these are totally unjustified as we were there that night, and the complaints were only made after they had finished all the supposedly inedible food!!

We had our second visit to Rajpoot on Thursday evening and it did not disappoint. As soon as we walked through the door we were looked after so beautifully. Nothing is too much trouble and the care taken is clear to see. And the food is outstanding. Love Rajpoot, the best restaurant for a wonderful dining experience.

The service was horrendous, the staff implied that we were too fat for their booths, and they were so rude to us. The food was tough, bland and frankly inedible. Complete waste of time and money. I wouldn't recommend coming here.

Absolutely ridiculous service, food was not edible. Chicken solid and over cooked. No taste either. Naan breads smaller than a newborns head. Rude comments from staff members (apart from one english member of staff, with a beard! He was fab). Joke of a restaurant. Zero stars if possible.

Have visited Rajpoot many time now for sit in and take aways, never disappointed. Meals always presented beautifully and tastes great. Friendly staff who try their best, especially on busy evenings. We will be back!

This was our second visit to the Rajpoot for a take away. The first one wasn't really that memorable and neither was this one. Plenty of meat in the dishes but not much flavour. And the smallest nan bread I have ever seen in a take away. The place was however very busy so obviously popular. I thought the staff were good but the meal was expensive. Will try somewhere else next time in Inverurie.

Booked a table for 830pm.and STILL waited an hour and 20 mins before having no choice but to leave as no tables were availible still!! Just abandoned at the front door ! Ridiculous service,unfriendly staff!!!

Hadn’t had an Indian meal for a while so we picked one restaurant we hadn’t been to before. Wow wow wow. We weren’t disappointed, it was absolutely brilliant. The service, the food and the price. 10/10

Have been to the Rajpoot before when it was quiet and everything was great, service and the food but tonight was a totally different story. Asked on arrival if we wanted a drink and usual poppadoms which we Did. These arrived promptly but that was it. Downhill after that, had to ask for someone to take out order, still waiting for my other drink and never bothered about coffee or dessert as it was chaotic. What was supposed to be a good night turned out stressful.

We just had our band Christmas night out recently in Rajpoot. It was my choice, and two of the others hadn't eaten here before. Needless to say, they were suitably impressed. Our drummer even booked for his family to come for dinner on Boxing Day.

We each had very good curries, served in a timely fashion by pleasant and helpful staff. While waiting for the mains we had the pompodums and pickles which we were better than most.

Lovely meal out with friends, good food, clean tablecloths and napkins. Attentive waiters first time time there will certainly go again.

Big of a queue to get us all seated despite arriving on time then slow for drinks. Food more than made up for it though and good service.

We were asked to take a seat at the front door until our table was ready except there were no free seats! We had to ask for drinks three times before given any! They forgot about our starters and served the main courses after a 40 minute wait. One of the main courses served was wrong and was promptly whisked away. We asked for the bill but it never arrived so we paid at the bar and left. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy.

As this restaurant was highly recommended we thought it can’t be as good as our friends were saying, it is better we had a lovely experience.

Came here with my family this past week, everytime I have been here i have received excellent service and food, fair to say I've been left greatly disappointed, due to a certain staff members behaviour and attitude during our meal.

Visited here on vacation from Scottish Borders where there's nothing to compare with this. Rajpoot has simply got to be one of the best Asian restaurants in the country. Food was excellent and portions very generous. Taj and his team are all fantastic at looking after your every need.

Came here to have dinner with a friend. The restaurant is very contemporary and nicely laid out. Taj the manager, took great care of us and recommended awesome dishes to us.
