I visit Edinburgh a few times a year, and whenever possible, I breakfast at Cafe Vigo in Corstorphine. Although it's usually busy, staff are always pleasant and helpful. The food is freshly cooked and very good.

This is not just the best restaurant in the Scottish Borders, it has the best staff and the best quality meals. Great drinks choices as well.

I've been here just twice but both times the treatment has been stellar. Not only are the staff friendly and talkative but they can make an excellent coffee and breakfast - one that it's hard to beat in similar places in town. The establishment comprises two rooms, seemingly parts of two separate buildings with a joining doorway meaning there is lots of space for a quiet breakfast or a more busy one as you see fit. Due to the location being just out of the reaches of the high street by a small walk, it's often quieter than the places more centrally located but I think this helps make Wickers World more enticing.

Higher prices and smaller portions. First time I've still felt hungry after a chippie.

Very good indeed! We went twice during our recent stay in Ballater. Excellent food (hence the second visit), nice, friendly service, really nice restaurant inside. No hesitation in recommending and we'll be back when next in Ballater.

Really good beers and reasonably priced

Delicious home-made food, x 2 steak pie, was best I have had, loads of tender meat and plenty gravey, macaroni cheese & Katsu Chicken, stick toffee puddings & after eight cheese cake 😋 all staff friendly and attentive, busy wee country pub with a good atmosphere and I found it very reasonably priced for a meal for 4, highly recommend, we will definitely be back.

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon for a family lunch with kids. I ordered Lamb Rump and it was delicious. Kids enjoyed their chicken nuggets and macaroni cheese, whilst my wife had an excellent steak and ale pie. Great service, family friendly atmosphere and fantastic value for money. We will go back.

Excellent evening meal with family to celebrate 50th birthday. Cosy bar all decorated up for Xmas and dog friendly too - highly recommend

Had great haddock and chips late September with my canadian cousin and partner. They loved it.

Firstly, it's a nice wee place. Food was okay and cooked well enough. The calamari and cod dishes were more like soup, which may be a traditional recipe, but I haven't seen that in many trips to Italy. The staff were not very engaging and you had to basically wave at them to get their attention. The music was overloud bland 90's MOR, so didn't help atmosphere wise. Most reviews here are favourable, so maybe we caught them on a bad day., but I can't really imagine I'll be going back.

Have been here a few times and absolutely love it! The food is great, the staff are attentive, hardworking and really look like they enjoy what they do. Always there to help and ask any questions. The owners are a lovely couple, always up for a quick chat and to help in any way. Food is excellent always with a great variety. Cosy comfort for us all!
