We ate here two nights in a row in early August. The menu changed each night so there were new things to try. We gelt some of the food, such as the starters, were over priced for the portion (£8.50 for two small croquettes) but they were delicious. However, the slices of cake we got for pudding were easily big enough for two (the picture shows two half slices on one plate) and each only £6.50. The cakes and puddings we had were all top notch A*** (esp choc ganache) so worth coming in just for coffee and cake even if you don't have a meal. We booked in advance via WhatsApp for 6pm dinner: Wed night it was quiet but the Thursday was heaving so glad we booked. The food we had was c. £20 for a main course and was really well made and delicious. Portions aren't huge but were sufficient. There isn't a kids menu so the first night we shared two meals between the three of us and had pudding, but the second night we had a main each. The Island Cafe is cheaper than the Coll Hotel and has a nice home made, welcoming feel to it with local art and two linked rooms, one with sofas and tables and the other just tables. The serving staff were nice young people. My partner also had coffee and cake here and the cakes really are very good (I hear the Chelsea buns are to die for too) and my coffee-snob partner says this is the best coffee available on Coll.

I didnt have the change before to write down a good review and I think never is late. Probably in this restaurant you can try one of the best turkish food in all the UK, I can be sure about that, I travel a lot around all the UK and I tried many of turkish restaurants. Food is really nice but the most amazing dish is their Homemade Backlava. Amazing!!
Just home from an evening at the Kilberry Restaurant, very friendly welcome from David and great service from the young man who waited on our table. It’s probably been said in previous reviews so I can only add to them by saying the food is sensational in a warm cosy environment. Can’t wait to return.
Decided to have a morning out for Mothers Day,googled cafes and places to lunch in the Kirriemuir area and came across the Wee Bear Cafe which looked very nice.Their website said opened at 10am as it was around a 45 min drive we also called and answerphone message also said open from March, and tripadvisor also stated open 10-4.
However we were bitterly disappointed when we arrived to find the place was closed!!!!.
After speaking with someone who was staying locally we spoke to a girl in the accomodation next to the cafe who did apologise but no explanation given why they were shut, only saying they were opening on Thursday, totally different to all information avaliable online or by phone.
There was a board outside saying due to family illness they would be shut on 27th and 28th,but as this was the 30th maybe it just had not been amended?.
Possibly in the future somebody could keep the correct information updated so that potential customers would not be disappointed.
Can't comment on cafe for obvious reasons.Sorry but have to speak as i find.

Started here for 3 nights as part of a golf trip. Absolutely perfect set up and well run with great food and friendly service, would definitely stay again on our next trip
The food was very exquisite, very well prepared and presented. I can definitely taste and feel the quality of this establishment.
I would like to thank our fantastic waitress Amara for serving us this evening, definitely took care of everything for myself and the family.

The food & drinks are to die for! Was my first time trying something from here & it was so good! Beyond what I expected. Totally worth every penny! 100% would recommend. x
