The best restaurants in Scotland

A group of us lunched here today with a friend who is a student at the college. Beautifully prepared food impeccably served by two fastidious, attentive young men. Lovely atmosphere including a wee speech from a faculty member reminding us that the restaurant is a learning facility and the staff are all college students working towards their qualifications. I will definitely return, this was an excellent dining experience.

This cafe is up towards Graham Place from the main street. We enjoyed soup, toasties, coffees and two slices of a deliciously moist chocolate cake before setting off for the St Margaret's Hope ferry. It was very relaxed with a friendly atmosphere, with local artwork on the walls, some for sale. Service was excellent and we would recommend this as somewhere to eat after visiting the town's excellent museum.

My husband and I ate here 2 days in a row! We had burgers! I definitely recommend the Full Monty! It was the best burger I’ve eaten in a while! Our host was warm and friendly!

Lovely coffee, lovely atmosphere, lovely staff. We just had coffee and cake but the savoury food also looked delish. Would definitely come back!

Best Chinese around I enjoy salt and pepper chicken and always tell simon it's for Richard make it extra spicy he listens and it's the best I've ever had and my wife has spare ribs 10 out of 10 always.

The best steak pie in this area by a country mile. You must try this gastro pub if you like freshly cooked British food. Good berry crumble served with cream or custard.

Had a take out this evening and the only word to describe everything was delicious! Massaman chicken curry deal and a Chicken Tom Yum soup. Will be back next week!

Had a lovely Christmas dinner with some work colleagues. Food was fantastic and plentiful. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately too stuffed so couldn't try their desserts.
