This cafe is up towards Graham Place from the main street. We enjoyed soup, toasties, coffees and two slices of a deliciously moist chocolate cake before setting off for the St Margaret's Hope ferry. It was very relaxed with a friendly atmosphere, with local artwork on the walls, some for sale. Service was excellent and we would recommend this as somewhere to eat after visiting the town's excellent museum.

I visited the Tea room this summer and asked if the Lemon Meringue cake was on the menu. I had it last year and it was delicious! Not only did I have it baked to order but I bought the whole cake and got it home to the New Forest! I froze it and shared it with family and friends and they all agreed it was the best lemon meringue cake ever! Thank you so much and see you again next year.

The decor of this cafe is quirky and art work on the wall is very nice to look at. Appart from the art this place is unfortunately a complete disappointment. Firstly The food is extremely expensive. How on earth they can justify charging nearly £7 for a corination chicken panni is behond me. The cake we had was meant to have white chocolate frosting but it was much closer to butter icing which wasnt great. Strawberry milkshake was warm and definitely a powder one. It's just really lazy not to use cold milk and ice cream like most places do. So there you have it deffintley against the grain compared to other reviews which could just boil down to a off day, but be wary of prices as other places are cheaper!

On a wet day in Stromness this little café was just what we were looking for -and not really expecting to find. The Tearoom looks like it's someone's front room, but the atmosphere was homely too. The staff were helpful and the food looked good; hot soup and other options were available but we only really wanted a good cuppa. Actually we opted for a cream tea and that was really good value.

a welcome and quirky find for food in Stormness, Fast service when they were really really busy, somewhat chaotic way to order and pay, everyone queuing at the same point in crowded space. Friendly. Hearty atmosphere. Can sit outside or in. Nice tea, Sandwiches ok,. Cakes looked amazing and genuinely homemade, there, didn't have time to try one. Appreciate how busy they are in tourist season. Independent cafes knock spots of the chains, but felt the place just a tiny spot of something more - in my opinion - a dash of TLC or something.

Had afternoon tea here, the Tearoom is tucked away up a little alley, inside its warm and cozy, has a vintage feel. The menu is simple with an emphasis on quality and using local produce where possible. The staff are friendly. The afternoon tea was delicious and at only £12 a person good value, I have had afternoon tea at several places which were much more expensive and not half as good. The selection of sandwiches were varied, fresh and very tasty, personal likes and dislikes can be taken into consideration, the scones with butter and jam were very good and the cake selection was excellent and all home baked, a nice twist on millionaires shortbread was millionaires flapjack which was seriously good. All washed down with a pot of tea served in China teacups, perfect.

Just walking into the The Tearoom should be enough to tell you that you've found somewhere special, as it looks so inviting - and that's even before you notice the tempting display of home baking. There was so much we might have chosen, but as it was early afternoon, three of the four of us decided on the soup and sandwich deal - a wise choice as it turned out, as the soup was exceptional, in our case a very substantial broccoli and stilton variety, bursting with flavour. The sandwiches were lovely, too: with a choice of any two of the listed fillings available offering a wide variety of tasty combinations .
