The best restaurants in England

Popped into Taart for lunch whilst on business in the area. The cafe was spotlessly clean and the service was friendly and with a huge smile. I had the takeaway hash box (minus spinach) and it was delicious, roast potato, bacon, egg and beans all cooked to perfection and very tasty. I will definitely use Taart again when I'm in the area.

We stopped for tea and cake! The cakes were excellent and seemed great value. The breakfast menu looking inviting and good value. We may return? YMMV

Fantastic coffee and pastries set us up for our walk along the coastal path. Didn’t have time to return for ice cream sadly.

What a wonderful experience from start to finish. We were served the most scrummy afternoon tea. The service was excellent and nothing was too much trouble, Thank you so much for making my birthday extra special.

My mother got me a 40th birthday cake made for a surprise for my 40th I can honestly say it was the best looking and nicest cake I have ever had it was stunning thankyou so much.

My partner and I have been coming here for 3 years (basically since we met!) and it's by far our favourite place in the whole of London. The food is incredible and such great value for money - last week we even got a free sample of the delicious Grandma's Soup. The staff are always friendly, and the cafe has a really lovely relaxing atmosphere - sometimes they've got live music as well. It's the epitome of a hidden gem, and my partner and I have so many great memories from visiting throughout the year - drinks in the courtyard in the summer, and mulled wine and soup in the winter - and we hope to continue coming here for many years to come.

Stopped in for a coffee, decent drinks, friendly staff and immaculately clean with a nice vibe inside and out. Would recommend for drinks but didn’t try the food.

New owners but same friendly meet and greet, still excellent coffee, great sandwiches and almond croissant, we’ll be back.

Fanstantic food, service, friendly, dog friendly, appreciate your custom, clean, had the American pancake breakfast very yummy, pancakes lovely & light

Disappointed . £6 for what amounted to a puff pastry strip coated in sugar seemed a bit steep. Friendly service

Is just the best. Kim and Lucia run this tapas restaurant where you get the croquetas, calamares, groceries and cheese tables, pulpo a la gallega, paellas…. Not talking about the fine selection of wines. We had the Mediterráneo Ribera del Duero…. nuts…. That wine is nuts let me tell you. Don’t hesitate and book the table already. Is good stuff… oh! I won’t spoil the surprise with the desserts…. Ok, I’ll do: authentic Tarta de Santiago and other marvels…. Thanks guys ❤️💛

We hired The Bay Vegan Deli to cater for our wedding in September as it was really important to us that, not only was the food vegan, but that it was delicious and kept everyone full. It's safe to say Mel and her team blew us away with the incredible spread they put on. We were absolutely gobsmacked by the beautiful presentation, and all of our guests were wowed. Every single person we spoke to on the day (and since) complimented the food, saying it was absolutely delicious and they all went back for seconds (and some, thirds!) - what an amazing claim, considering the wedding of 50 guests had less than 5 vegans in attendance. Mel was professional, polite, calm, and just perfect to deal with from start to finish. Although she had another event to attend to after setting up, she left her very capable staff in charge of the buffet and they kept it topped up, tidy, and all cleaned down afterwards without a crumb left behind - the venue even complimented us the next day on how clean everything had been left!
