Not just your usual tea rooms, this marvellous little cafe produces the most exquisitely delicious cakes and treats in the beautiful village of Uffington. You will be greeted with the warmest smiles and spoilt with such a delightful choice of cakes. Our children want to visit every weekend! They have a box of toys to keep the children entertained. Superb value for money.

An archetypal English institution! Home made food prepared by local girls with big smiles on their faces and spreading cheerfulness throughout Set up in the Thomas Hughes Village Hall which is itself a tribute to what can be achieved by determination for it was built on the proceeds of the annual White Horse Show I ha pot of tea and a modest ploughmans' and .it was delightful. and reasonably priced. Long may this type of institution continue.

I attend the tea room when visiting the farmers market and it is a positive delight. tea in pots, home made cakes, china cups and saucers, proper cake stands and delicious sandwiches. All served up in a 'village hall' setting just like a 1950's WI meeting (in the best possible way) If you get the chance to visit then take it, you'll be glad you did.

Stopped here a few times - sadly it's only open weekends or it'd be more often! Generous portions, great food (especially the cakes) and a friendly atmosphere. There;s a 50's vibe with bunting and music from the era makeing it feel like a step back in time (in a good way). It's reasonably priced with a bacon roll, large slice of cake (freshly made) and almost a whole cafetiere of coffee costing £7.50.

We were in need of some snacks and followed the sign to the Village Hall - yes that's right and maybe not everyone's idea of the best place to have a tea room. As mentioned in other reviews one of the rooms has been transformed with table cloths and vases of flowers and 50's music quietly playing in the background. It must take ages to make it look this delightful. We were initially after some cake (plenty of that) but ended up having sandwiches and bacon rolls as well. All very good quality food and great value for money. We also enjoyed a lovely chat with the two owners who work very hard to make this place special. Find this place and enjoy!

This tea room runs at weekends in the Uffington village hall. That however does not do it justice as a huge amount of effort and work goes into transforming the small hall into a vintage tea room. From the furniture brought in, to the bunting and decorations, the music and the aprons and adornments of the waitresses this is a delight. Hand made cakes, I can recommend the Raspberry topple as a particular favourite! Are in plentiful supply every week, and if you want a little more hot rolls, such as bacon and sausage are also available. With the accompanying farmers market monthly this is a great 'excuse' to eat cake and drink tea. Remember 'Never underestimate the power of Tea and Cake!'

After a walk on White Horse Hill we were glad to find this amazing tea room in the nearby village of Uffington. It is in the village hall and decked out in bunting and has a feel of stepping back in time. They have taken great care with all the décor, from the china, the music and decorations. Not only is it a lovely environment to stop a while in but the food is also delicious, We had bacon rolls and they were so fresh and with plenty of bacon. The cakes were yummy and it is all very reasonably priced. We would highly recommend!

Tucked away in the village hall, it's really worth coming here. We went after a lovely walk at the White Horse (5 minutes' drive away) and had enormous plates of finger sandwiches, a very posh ploughmans and 3 enormous slices of cake (for £2 each, bargain). Lovely atmosphere, nice music, pretty 50-s inspired decorations. It was very quiet which was nice for us and while it would be a shame for it to get too popular it does deserve more custom so do go while it is still relatively secret!

This is a lovely little team room. It is in the village hall, right next to the playground, village green and car park so perfect for families, visitors to the village or people passing through on their way to or from the White Horse. There are tables Inside and outside, and it is all decorated very nicely in a vintage-type style. The tea and cakes were delicious, very fresh and not expensive. The service was friendly too and all in all I would highly recommend it. We were there at tea time but the lunch menu looked good too so we will definitely return.

I had taken my kids to see the Uffington Horse and we were looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were so glad we found this place, especially after looking at more expensive 'we saw you coming' type of places. From the outside, it looks like your average community centre but the ambience inside is friendly and quirky. Light jazz was playing and there was a welcoming display of cakes. There was no one to take our order when we arrived but that was because there seemed to be two women in charge of everything - including preparing the food. Everything came served on vintage-looking plates which was a nice touch. The food itself was delicious and very good value for money.

Lovely little vintage tea rooms, set in a small village hall, decked out in vintage bunting chairs and quaint cup and saucers. Quick service, fresh food and gorgeous home made cakes ! Most definately worth a visit, we now try to go most weeks! Child friendly too, with a park outside, away from the main road. Setting is stunning. Well done!

I visited for the first time today, and the atmosphere is very warm and friendly. Lots of pretty bunting up giving it the feel of a village fete. The tables are beautifully made up with pretty cloths, and unusual teapots. The ladies who do the serving are very friendly; Chris even drew me a little map so I could find my way to Wantage. The only downside is there's no GF bread to have for sandwiches, or soup, and there wasn't any GF cake, but I understand that if they did make GF cake there'd be an awful lot of wasteage. Apart from that it was perfect!

So pretty! A really fun atmosphere with amazing looking cakes and beautifully dressed staff. Lovely coffee and hot chocolate, massive bacon sandwiches, papers to read and freshly baked bread available to buy. Very child friendly, we had a great hour in there. A wonderful addition to the village.

Just a few weeks ago my wife and I with our daughter and her husband visited the newly established Forget me Not Tea Rooms situation in the Village Hall in Uffington run by two local ladies Lucy Palmer and Claire Whitfield. Whilst it is only open on Saturdays at this time during the winter it is a cute and lovely addition to our village offering such delights as breakfast baps with Bacon, Eggs and Mushrooms, excellent coffee, Soups and sandwiches as well as a wonderful selection of home baked breads and Cakes which take you back to the good old bakery days. It is a pity that they are not also open on Sundays which hopefully will develop as it is on our doorstep and is more than a great place to enjoy the good things of life in very pleasant surroundings, served with a smile and in such a pleasant way that makes you want to stay even longer, with newspapers to read and local gossip. This should become a must visit for visitors as well as residents and has long been wanted together with much of the historical features of the Village of Uffington and its surroundings.

A really very high quality experience. The owners have ensured that everything needed is available, and that there is plenty of space for different groups to use different rooms. All rooms are ensuite, and extra loos on ground and first floor. After the restoration, the place has been wonderfully furnished. Breakfasts were provided and were lovely.

Receptionist on the phone is not very nice at all, sort it out. I don't appreciate being hung up on when I'm in the middle of talking, disgusting.

Can't fault the service and the food was exceptional. The size of the portions incredible. Not sure we needed the starters. The plates on tables around us just looked amazing. Well done all.
