The bookshop has long gone, sadly, but happiness and fun lingers... The Little Bookshop has reopened! Stop by for a poetry group or freshen up your computer skills; bring the kids to a dedicated kiddies library; meet friends for coffee and cake or even grab dinner from the soon-to-be opened Community Fridge.

So I was in Milton Keynes today (12th July 2016) and thought I'd stop by "The Little Bookshop" for a coffee, some cake and to find an old book to buy. Sadly I arrived only to find that they are now only open on Friday's from 10am to 4pm. I am posting this review as 'Very Good' as these guys deserve support as their work is all for the greater good, and also to help fellow Trip Advisor Community Members who may be thinking of visiting this coffee cum bookshop on any day other than a Friday! I do hope to return on a Friday soon.

Great Linford has never really had a community anything and certainly not a bookshop with a cafe so The Little Bookshop is very welcome and very valued. In season there are some seats outside near the duck pond even if the aspect looking towards the adjacent Coop is pretty scruffy sometimes. Always possible to find something of interest and we usually come away with more books than we have donated. At present, Wednesdays are for community group meetings; could wish for longer opening hours. Recommended.

We used to take my Dad to the Little Bookshop when he was living in a local care home. Always the kindest staff, lovely welcome. It was his favorite place. A little haven with great books. I will continue to visit whenever I am in MK.

The shop was lovely, I really enjoyed visiting it. It had a good range of books. However, the shop is quite hidden as it's quite small. I think it could locate to somewhere more open, so that the shop is more noticeable.

It is a highlight on a Friday afternoon to visit this very special place in Milton Keynes. If you are a lover of books and also 2nd hand books shops, as I grew up in and you want to chill out and have a coffee with very friendly people, then this is the place to go. In a world of chain shops and stores this is a unique and find and I cannot recommend it enough.

The Little Book Shop is well named, cos it's *small*... but has a heart the size of Milton Keynes! John & Anwen run this not-for-profit, community-helping, book shop and coffee bar at Great Linford Local Centre (just behind the Co-op). Anwen makes a great cuppa, so whether you prefer tea, Horlicks, "instant" coffee or what about a treat of a cafetiere filled with *real* coffee!... mmm!... The Little Book Shop is just the ticket, cos you'll find yourself very quickly immersed in their huge selection of second hand books and collectible books - and you'll need a large cafetiere to help your browsing! And then, as time slips by, you'll also get hungry... no problem... they have a great selection of cakes - and the size of their 'Danish' buns, well...!!! And if the weather is nice, there are tables & chairs outside, too! So if you're out and about anywhere near Great Linford, come and see (and taste) for yourself. Like I say, it's as simple as ABC & D ... Anwen, Books, Coffee and a Danish!

How many people can say that they look forward to Monday Mornings, well I do. It's the first time since Friday that I can visit The Little Bookshop for a browse, coffee and danish with new and old friends. Being disabled, it has become a lifeline for meeting people in a happy and friendly atmosphere. They also help the local community, including schools, retirement centres and the like. Thank you John and Anwen for all your help....

We have been here a number of times and thoroughly enjoyed browsing for second hand books and a hot drink. The service is warm and friendly. An hour can easily pass looking at all the books - we rarely escape empty handed and it is good to have a place so close to take our books to. when read. It scores very highly with me because it serves Horlicks! It is only small but on a sunny day there are table and chairs outside too. This is not a restaurant but Tripadvisor will insist! It just serves coffee/tea etc. plus Danish pastries and biscuits.

This amazing little bookshop is a jewel in the heart of a community that faces all the struggles of day to day life. It provides a friendly face for those who may otherwise be isolated in their homes. Young and old alike will be treated with the same warm welcome from the wonderful caring couple that run this haven. A chat over coffee, an opportunity to make new friends and the sale of books at amazingly low prices make this places a must to go and visit, I guarantee you will be raving about it and revisiting on a regular basis. You wont find coffee at the price or a friendlier place to visit in Milton Keynes where you can feed the ducks with your children/grandchildren, play a game of table tennis outside and take home a bedtime story or a book for yourself. With christmas fast approaching go and have a look its the ideal place to pick up those stocking fillers that will delight children.

From a welcoming hello to a hot cafetiere, a sweet Danish, books of all kinds, fresh fruit, food for the ducks, CD's and DVD's plus a great little area for little ones to feel at home, read and play; this is just the perfect meeting place for young and old, able and not so able, to sit, chat, reminisce, plan, gossip. Not posh, not pretentious but "great" and "local"! There's also table tennis, boules and outdoor chess on our very own village square.

A little jewel in the local centre. Cheap, cheerful and friendly. A huge selection of 2nd hand books in this colourful cafe along with lots of local information/leaflets. Free table tennis outside for the more energetic. This really is a lovely place to stop for a coffee and meet people. But if you want to be left alone, that's fine too - no hassle. Love it here.

As this is a not for profit community bookshop as well as a small cafe, it runs for the people, by people who just want to make a difference. The atmosphere is just lovely. People go there daily, its like visiting family. The quality of the cakes is fantastic, and such good value, sometimes you need to check if you have heard right! Once you go there once, you will feel you just have to go back!

Visited this hidden gem while our Grandson was having swimming lessons. What a find, being inside a large gym it was extremely unlikely that I’d ever stumble across it. I’m glad I know it’s here now. The cheesecake was to die for as was the Victoria sponge that my wife had. All homemade on the premises by the very friendly guy who looked after us. I suppose if you really thought it necessary you could go and work it all off in the gym. I preferred to sit comfortably in the lovely spacious cafe though and let it all settle gently. I’m definitely going to come back and try the breakfast!

We went out of our way to visit here last Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was empty when we arrived and we waited more than 5 minutes for any staff to appear to serve us - despite us speaking to each other in the restaurant so we could be heard. The member of staff did not apologise for leaving us waiting when he arrived. We asked for flat whites with oat milk but were told they could only do black coffee with oat milk as the flat whites come out of a machine with cows milk. I don't think a shop that prides itself on coffee should be reliant on a machine to make the drinks. Asked if they had any dairy free/ vegan cakes but they had none. So we left having ordered nothing. Don't bother visiting if you have any dietary requirements or want a real coffee.

A great, no nonsense, village pub, always with a selection of 3 varied, and well looked after, real ales on tap. Curl up near the fire and enjoy a pint of something new and enticing. No food, beyond the normal crisps and nuts selection.
