Dinner and wine tasting. Great food, excellent wines. Great company and great service. Food presented very well, tasted even better and ambience great in convivial company

I had been for lunch a couple of times & the food was pretty standard. Why is the soup not piping hot- that's not a difficult concept. But I had the pleasure of attending a special dinner in October where everything was simply outstanding- food, wine & service. Perhaps my only comment is that it was too much but the quality of the food was really outstanding especially the ceviche. Well done.

Wonderful atmosphere and food . Fresh oysters . Fish dishes are superb friendly staff. The drawing room is magnificent.

A great breakfast, the only thing missing was the Marmite. Lunch, also fresh & tasty. Dinner, wonderful, especially the specials of the day. Salubrious surroundings. The staff are absolutely outstanding, better than most top Hotels.

The building is beautiful with a who's who of previous prime ministers etc on the walls . It's a private club and has that feel about it . The reception I attended was in the Churchill room which is a lovely period room . Staff were generally pleasant enough albeit a bit distant .The wines were pleasant and steadily refilled . The canapés were good too but there were too few for the number of guests and staff did not come round frequently enough . A great place to visit if you are invited ! The street numbers go up one side of St James' Street then down the other ,not even one side odd the other so be ready to look for a short while .

Frankly, I'm surprised that Trip Advisor had this on its list for review as it's a private club. We're lucky enough to have a friend who is a member. This is a club of the conservative establishment of the UK. Members include prime ministers going back at least as far as Disrailie. As one might expect, the surroundings are quiet and in extremely good taste. The service is excellent and they have a very good cook.

I was invited by a friend to lunch there. Fantastic decor, with the picture of all Conservative Prime Ministers on the walls, the typical English Club! We started off with a visit at the bar with a brilliant Barman and then we went on a conducted tour of the Club, the Library, Veranda & garden, smoking area and finally the Restaurant where we ate a very high class lunch with superb wine. As I was a guest I am not in a position to state if the venue was a good value for the money paid but, my God, what an experience!

Excellent simple lunch- Steak & kidney pudding. Summer brings happy hours at the bar- Champagne at half price! What more can you want? Excellent service.

I have not dined at the Carlton for a couple of decades. I was invited as a guest to a dining club. This is where a club (I am a member of two) is tested to the hilt. They put on a good show. Service was gracious and smooth, the food was sound, that cusp between solid and fancy, one might say and the wines were sensible and mercifully poured. I left a happy chap.

This is one of the friendliest clubs in St James. Staff are excellent and knowledgeable. The sitting room is large, comfortable and and great to work out of. In winters the fire place keeps the room cozy. Coffee and drinks are good. The bartender makes very good Martini's which are reasonably priced given that we are in St James.

Managed to get a table for a late lunch- sat at the Club table with some very interesting Members. The food was outstanding; simple, fresh & tasty. Apparently they have spent a lot of money renovating the kitchens but unfortunately the Chef is leaving, after many years service. Everyone is extremely polite.

I had the pleasure of spending two nights at the Carlton Club while in London for work. The Carlton Club has reciprocity with my University club in the US. I can’t begin to say how much I loved my room and the club overall - the little hidden study, the portraits, a glass of champers by the fire. My room was so comfortable. The location is perfect. I would love to return. Special thanks to Fransisco, Hisham, and Vijay and please accept my apologies for any misspellings.

This place is really incredible. We came with a friend who’s a member, get a very nice welcome, good drinks in a beautiful place...

An outstanding Club. Everyone is very friendly. The restaurant is splendid with excellent service. So very nice to be invited.

A very traditional Club but everyone is extremely polite. Very plush decor; lots of lovely portraits. Outstanding cooking & wines, very well priced. The Members are indeed very fortunate- I was a guest.
