I come to London at least 4 times a year for work and I always stay at the Radisson Blu Edwardian in Leicester Square which is a fantastic hotel with amazing service. I am always greeted & treated beautifully. I also have breakfast at Scoff & Banter which forms part of the hotel and it is indeed a delicious breakfast with lots of choices, a 5 star breakfast. service is impeccable especially by Ryan who really goes out of his way to make customers happy. He is an asset to the company! I always look forward to my stay in London not only cause I love the city and here I manage to solve work issues and meet colleagues but also for staying in this magnificent hotel with the best staff.

Have been going here for a long time and aways find staff helpful and food good value especially the pre theatre menu. The pre theatre menu has changed Last couple of times I visited and while variety and change is often be a bit good I am not convinced the current one is as good as the old one. The armchair seats can be a bit low for eating recommend choosing one of the higher chairs.

On the 4th Feb we visited this upmarket restaurant for afternoon tea and I had ordered Shepherd Pie. My dish arrive swimming in oil and tasted truly unpalatable. I returned this dish and was told the chef agreed that it was indeed awful. I was offered a cup of tea in recompense which I turned down and was not offered any other food. The bill duly arrived with shepherd pie on it and I of course refused to pay for this. A new bill arrived with the said item taken off. Apparently this restaurant serves this kind of awful food regularly to tourists. No wonder tourists think food in Britain is not fit for purpose. I use the chain Radisson Blu for my ravels regularly but will think twice about their London restaurants.

We had an amazing afternoon tea for my mums 70th birthday. We have had this here before, so knew it would be good so booked another visit as a surprise. We was not disappointed, taking a 9 year old was a worry but she enjoyed every moment of it. Everyone was so attentive and we had a fabulous time, the food And cakes fresh and the tea plentiful. My 15 year old son loved it all. Was an excellent idea to have other options rather than just tea. We had a lovely jug of water for the table, which my mum loved ..... If anyone at the restaurant can tellMe where it was from I would loveTo buy her one!! When booki g I mentioned it was mums birthday so they did her a lovely plate with happy birthday written on, chocolates, candle and everyone sung ..,,.. A perfect end to a perfect visit...... We have eaten here several times and it always delivers... Surroundings are stylish and comfortable, well presented British food menu and friendly helpful servers. Our last visit was on a cold, wet and sleety January afternoon. Staff were quick to relieve us of our wet overcoats and offer a warm welcome. Our server, Victoria, was friendly and efficient and took time out to discuss our visit and the various attractions of Leicester Square. There are some negative comments here on Tripadvisor but for us this remains a favourite refuge from the bustle of central London.

Special thanks to the very talented Chef Youssef for providing exquisite dishes we just could not get enough of. Classy, elegant place but great value. I would eat there every day if I could. Having been a couple of times to the Oxford Street branch and greatly enjoyed it, I popped into this branch as we were in the area. In truth it's my fault, I should have known better than thinking anything good could flourish in Leicester Square (otherwise known as Molester Square), and this branch is totally unrecognisable from the other one. The room is unwelcoming, and sitting next to the windows we had to keep our jackets on due to drafts from the windows. We had cream tea and it was just bad: very poor selection of teas, the sandwiches were two slabs of curled up bread with a slice of cheese or other unremarkable filling in, the scones were not fresh, and came with one jar of shop-bought jam and a jar of honey (really ? cream and honey, is this a thing ? ) and the cakes were too sweet.Service was friendly but not very competent. They asked us to put a Tripadvisor review, so here it is: don't go, walk up Regent's Street and go to the Oxford Street branch. In the spirit of Christmas I though of giving it 2 stars but then I remembered we paid 25 pounds each for this rubbish, so back to one star it is.

Myself and my family took a table of 7 yesterday for dinner and booked on Opentable for the 2 courses £17/ or 3 courses for whatever the set price is. On arrival we were really pleased with how lovely everything was and our waiter was helpful and friendly. Our starters arrived one hour after our arrival and on taking our plates away we were asked if we were ready for our main meals and we said yes. 50 minutes later our main meal arrived! We actually didn't mind the wait as we were relaxed and chatting but out of the 7 meals, 3 had to be returned to the kitchen. Gammon - almost raw. Shepherds pie - cold and unappetising. Fish n chips - batter was like concrete. After almost two hours waiting for our main meal it was way too late to then wait for more food to be recooked so we just ate the chips. They did take the price of the three meals off the bill but still had the cheek to charge for service? We did pay the service - why - I don't know but this morning realised that we were charged for individual starters and mains instead for the advertised price of £17. It is such a shame as we really were having a lovely evening here and I'd like to say I'd give it another chance and come back again but why a kitchen would be happy to send food out to customers like that is beyond me.

We (a group of close friends on a destination birthday trip) had drinks and breakfast, not meals, and our experience was that the food was well prepared and even hot items from the breakfast buffet were served beautifully and at the right temperature. Loved that you could enjoy the buffet foods or order off the menu at no additional cost beyond the buffet's 23 GBP.

We had very high hoped for our dinner at Scoff and Banter in Leicester Square. We'd selected based on what appeared to be an eclectic and creative menu and had high expectations. Unfortunately these we soon dashed. The location is in the Raddison Blu which is not an issue, the restaurant is off to one side with a good view of the square. We dined on a Thursday at 9pm with a reservation. Despite it being almost completely empty (maybe one other table with a large group) we were given an out of the way table squeezed up against a wall and close by the one other group so we could hear everything they had to say.Service was OK if a little slow and inattentive but the main downside here is the food. Both of our selections (I had some sort of vegetarian pie and my wife chose the fish and chicks) were presented on oversided plates and came bereft of other than token vegetables or any sort of side dish. The food itself was bland and uninspiring with more thought and creativity seeming to have been put into describing the dish on the menu than into the dishes themselves. The same themes of stodge and bland carried over to the desserts as well. For the price (and these were not cheap dishes) we'd expected much better. Overall slow service and uninspiring food make this a location to skip rather than seek out.

Without a doubt, one of the main reasons I have stayed here over the years (apart from it's location for my line of business) was the spectacular Buffet breakfast. Seriously, it was one of the most amazing sophisticated buffet offerings in London! Clearly, some corporate suit has now changed all that and decided to go uber cool with what they think are clever offering (like a single croissant in a timber box with honey and a spoon OR tiny individual bircher muesli yoghurt etc). It was previously so exquisitely presented, plentiful and generous - which had everything you could ever dream of with exotic fruits, breads, cheeses - now it is the antithesis with poor quality meats and cheese etc. It has lost it pizzaz. Even the menu has changed - I always had Eggs benedict - now you only get one egg, one slice of ham on inedible thick ciabatta instead of a traditional english muffin - just a VERY BAD DECISION clearly made by a suit up the ladder. If it aint broken, why try to fix it. The staff are now made to wear uber cool black only and so much of the English tradition with this sophisticated hotel has been lost. Suits, listen to me - You are not the W hotel and we are not in NY. Please revert breakfast back to what it was otherwise, I will go in search of new digs! Thank you.

On a recent day-trip to London, a group of five of us needed somewhere pleasant to meet and catch up on news before a theatre matinee. The Scoff and Banter was the perfect venue! Fortunately the restaurant wasn’t busy, so we didn’t feel bad about lingering over coffees, followed by a leisurely lunch. We were there for three hours! I cannot praise the staff highly enough. The waiter and waitress who served us were both so friendly and polite! (I’m sorry I can’t remember their names.) The waiter even gave me a complimentary bag of the delicious little spicy biscuits that came with the coffee – just because I said how nice they were! As its name suggests, this is a lovely place to eat and chat! We will definitely return on our next trip to London!

We have had lunch here once before and it was very good so wanting a quick bite before the theatre (The Bank Robbery that went Wrong - high recommended) we decided to return. It is entered via the Raddison Hotel and is a very chic environment with a long bar and cosy dining area. Service is attentive without being OTT. We had a G&T while we chose our food. I opted for a starter of Whitebait with a spicy mayonnaise and J had a Prawn Cocktail. Both were quite good, a sufficient portion, though I prefer my whitebait a little crisper and I also like a savoury flour on them. The spicy mayonnaise was made with horseradish which I am not a great fan of on this type of dish. But it was ok. J's prawn cocktail was generous and looked pretty fair actually. For mains I chose rib-eye steak, rapidly becoming my favourite cut; with a fabulous Bubble & Squeek (mashed potatoe and cabbage fried together and in this case with delicious bacon strips stirred through). There was no garlic butter offered and I didn't like the other options of sauces so left it just to the juice of the meat. Glad I did as it was cooked just as I asked, rare to medium rare. I really enjoyed that steak! J had a cumberland pie, minced beef and vegetables under a piped mash topping. It was very good too. We had a large glass of wine with our main courses, J choosing a Sauvignon Blanc and I a declicious Riocha. Both a bit pricy at a tenner a pop, but its not often we do this.Being full and needing to get to the theatre we passed on desserts. But it was a decent pre theatre dinner in comfortable surroundings.

I've never been to a restaurant where I've ordered food and had it served so plainly. Not a trace of sauce, not a garnish, not a single vegetable or herb to be seen. Just a fish on a plate. We went to this place to enjoy a couple of bottles of wine as I was catching up with a friend. The interior looks good but this covers up what lies beneath which is bad service. We ordered one bottle of wine, to be told would we like to pay before we order or start a tab. I said give us a chance as we just wanted to order. He said they were very busy with a large group. Which basically meant, order in now, let us take the money and we won't look at you again. The male members are rude and the female ones seem more attentive. We got exactly what I described. We were never looked at again and had to grab the attention of the so called busy staff by waving our arms to get service. All in all I would avoid again. Finally, the guy that took my payment could not grab my card quick enough and rush off after we paid. No thank you, no good bye.

As you can see from my other reviews I am a full endorser of always giving good feedback! People find it too easy to complain these days so I always find its always best to write about your good experiences rather than the bad. In this case however, I shall be breaking the trend. Set the Scene: House mate/Best mate birthday celebrations and we have a party of 10. Service: The service was horrendous. It took 20 minutes to be asked what drinks we would like for the waitress to ask 3 people, stop, serve another table, then ask another 3/4 people on my table for drinks, stop, serve another table then come back for the rest. At this point she hadn't even gone to the bar to get the drinks going. Drinks arrive after half an hour then food orders are taken another 20 minutes after this. Service = Piss Poor at best. (monkey emoji with hands over eyes needed here) Food: The girlfriend got the pork sliders which were ridiculously dry and lacked any flavour and I grab a big old steak, which turned out to be the most bland and tasteless steak I've ever tasted. Weatherspoon's even do a better steak than that an there you can get a 14oz steak with chips salad and a beer for £14 ha! Food = Gordon Ramsey would slam his hand on it, the food would spray everywhere and he would tell the chef to get out of his kitchen.I really wish I could give this place at least one good point but it really was a poor restaurant with poor food and tragic service for a bumbling server. This seemed to be the thoughts of everyone in the group. Onwards and upwards though... maybe we just had a bad night.

I visited with a friend prior to seeing a show. It sits in the Radisson Leicester Square. When you walk in it comes across as a little confused. Is it a restaurant or a hotel bar? The room looks more like a bar. The seating is low but, to be fair, the tables are also appropriately low. I ordered the Shepherd's Pie, whilst my companion ordered the Steak and Ale pie.My meal was delicious. However, the menu didn't explain that it contained carrots and peas, which it, quite rightly, should. I had to ask the waitress to find out. What surprised me was that rather than being traditional minced lamb it felt more like a lamb shank. The rather pointless bone sticking out the middle was clearly there to emphasise that you get higher quality shredded lamb. Personally I would just be clearer on the menu. Having said that the mashed potato topping was almost as good as mine and I am very fussy about mash. If you have ever had mash on a microwave pie this was a million times better. The service was excellent, as was the food. It's a little pricey but worth it. However, the confused feeling of being in a hotel bar (the menu doesn't even show the price of wine by the bottle) and the music, which was too loud for a restaurant. On the plus side the tables are well spaced giving you privacy.

I went for a coffee which was excellent and was greeted immediately I enter entered the restaurant. The decor looked it could do with a refurb but overall satisfactory service. Ideal location so could not complain on that for sure. I would return here again.

Having had a really lovely day in London, my wife and I decided to go to this branch of Scoff and Banter, after we spotted it earlier in the afternoon because I really fancied a pie and we had seen that there was a really nice sounding pie on the menu.To be honest we thought that the place was a pub, but it is part of the hotel next door.As we read the menu it dawned on us both that you got nothing in terms of potatoes or vegetables with your main course ( I'd expect this from a 5* establishment but not from here) so my wife ordered the lamb rump and I ordered the steak pie cooked in their own special ale.We did wait a while for the food to come out, and judging by the two reviews below they were obviously having a bad day!My wife said her lamb rump was good but would have been so much better with a jus or sauce, my pie was a terrible disappointment, the filling was so dry and the pastry was a definite tooth breaker.I did inform the member of waiting staff when she came to check the meals, she apologised and said she would pass our comments on.I have to say that I was expecting some kind of discount to be taken off for my pie, but no there was nothing. If you buy something faulty you expect a refund in any other kind of retail environment. So on the whole disappointing and we will be in no hurry to go back.....ever!

Group of 12 girls for afternoon tea. The food was AMAZING! and so much of it! A 3 tier stand of scones, cream & jam, cakes and sandwiches, between two people!! Drinks always replenished. My only slight niggle was the service was a little slow. We had booked so you would have thought they would be ready for us.Definitely would recommend!

Unbelievably shocking service, food was ok but took forever to arrive. We asked for drinks before food arrived, drinks came after. Not even busy, goodness knows what it would be like if it was.

Called at the Scoff & Banter at the Radisson on Leicester Square to escape a sudden rain shower.Place is clean, well kept and dry!! Staff efficient and helpful.Well presented drinks (a mixture - gin and tonic for my companion, and a espresso for me).Not cheap - but a nice quiet haven on the edge of Leicester Square in the rain, where all other establishments were heaving with tourists!

Scoff and Banter is perfect for a coffee or tea, possibly a pastry as well. When we arrived, I was peckish for a croissant, but it turned out there was none left, after breakfast. However the waiter Ryan offered to ask chef to make more, which was a very kind gesture .My parents decided to have a cup of tea and I had water. The interior table & chairs are very relaxing and get a seat with a view of the public passing through Liecester square, I could people watch all day ! In addition to the relaxing ambience, they a ladies loo which were very hygienic and with various hand washes and lotions. Its an oasis of calm and is super place for a bite to eat . Make sure you get Ryan as the waiter, his professionalism and hospitality are a credit to the hotel.

Scoff and Banter is a hotel restaurant in the middle of the most tourist area in London. I liked the interior, the cocktails were fantastoc and the service staff were very friendly and attentive. I just found the menu and the food very average. There wasn't much variety and the pie I ordered didn't come with anything, you had to add on sides. I liked it but it didn't blow me away. There's a lot of restaurants in London and this was great for a few drinks but I'd probably eat elsewhere.

Scoff and Banter wasn't a dinner I was expecting to have but its one I am glad we did have. After a disaster at Garfunkel's next door we decided to just eat here because it's the restaurant in the hotel and it's just easier. The food was outstanding, our server Victoria was outstanding, and the overall experience was fantastic. My daughter ordered the chef special for the week, baked salmon, her favorite, and asked for mashed potatoes instead of the salad it came with. After taking her first bite she told me the path to heaven is through that meal it was so great. I ordered the beef pie and it was great as well, it definitely needed the side of red wine gravy as suggested by Victoria. After having several meals here in London where the service was subpar and servers being zero help with the menu it was refreshing to have a server who not only was fantastic but also knows the menu enough to make quality suggestions.

I was with my daughter we had an early dinner. The weather was lovely and we sat outside watching the hustle of Leicester Square. A nice jug of pink sangria went down well with our meal. Which was a good size portion and moderately priced considering the location. Would definitely recommend and I will return

we vistied this place on a Saturday afternoon, the restaurant wasn't that busy so we headed to bar.as we walked through the resturant we were greeted with a scream of 'hey hey hey' the person in question Sofia proceeded to question why we were there and who let us through into the bar area!!once we explained we were let through she backed down but still came across rude!!Once we sat down we found the service slow and the staff not particularly helpful taking 15min to do some very basic drinks meaning we had to rush and get to our show.

Having less than an hour before our play started, we explained our dilemma to our waitress, who assured us not to worry that she would be able to look after us. The surroundings of the restaurant are elegant, the chairs very comfortable and there was plenty of space between tables. We elected to share three starters - and the warm bread selection was a winner. The starters are a good size and so were more than sufficient. When we asked for the bill it came straight away and we were able to make our show in time. We will definitely go back with more time to explore the rest of the menu, but can recommend this for a quick bite to eat in the short-term.

As usual for London hotels, the breakfast was good. But the reason this mornings experience was better than most was the service by a lovely man called Ryan.He remembered us from the afternoon before, when he served us a very well received glass of wine. His service was just the right amount of chatty with respect. My morning green tea was served to us but it was green tea with lemon. So Ryan brought out a special box of loose leaf tea for me to see. It was delicious. I hope the bosses know they have a gem. Thanks Ryan.

Booked here with a friend and our two young daughters as an end of school year treat. We specifically chose this place for the pink themed tea for the girls. I have to admit my expectations were not high, especially as the price seemed quite cheap compared to other teas in London. How wrong was I? It was FABULOUS! For £22.50 you get more than enough food - and all of it pink! They even add beetroot to the egg mayo so it's pink! There was more than enough food - gorgeous finger sandwiches with ham, smoked salmon, cucumber, egg.... Then there were pink cupcakes, pink sponge slices, pink macaroons, and of course scones with clotted cream and jam. Included in the price was a pot of tea of your choice from an extensive menu - although they were very kind and let the children have hot chocolate instead. Us ladies chose Earl Grey. Of course! The staff were so friendly and attentive and I really cannot fault a thing. We had a really fabulous afternoon and I would not hesitate to recommend. As an aside, there is a "regular" afternoon tea menu, however the " pink" themed one certainly appealed us girls and made it very special.

At her suggestion, my wife and I paid our first visit to a "Scoff & Banter" restaurant in Leicester Square, and I must say it proved a very good choice. As you would expect it was not cheap, but we were both impressed by the quality of food and service. We were served with excellent wines, then ordered a starter and a main meal, we then shared an "Eton Mess" to finish. The menu was traditional and very well presented, we were served by a young Hungarian lady who was very attentive and friendly. I would recommend this venue to all.

The bar area was empty apart from an elderly couple and two business guests. Two staff were behind the bar, but feebly acknowledge us when we arrived, we sat for a further 15 minutes without any service or attention whilst the staff busied themselves with the other 4 people and tidied the bar. In the end we gave up trying to be served and went to a restaurant round the corner. Typical chain hotel restaurant in city centre location.

Had a lovely meal here. You can sit in doors or outside on the terrace overlooking Leicester Square. We had our main meal inside and coffee outside after. Quirky serving ideas are the order of the day here. My husband had onion soup as a starter and I had fish pie for a main, both served in retro metal pans. Almost like camping. Paula our waitress served with a smile ensuring we had everything that we needed.Could have done with something chocolate on the desert menu, though eton mess was a good alternative.

The food here is terrible and not even what is on the menu. When I asked the waitress why the slider was missing something her response was that she didn't make it so I should ask the chef. This is a bit tricky as im sure they don't want me in the kitchen. The place is well staffed but they didn't come up to us once to ask if we needed anything it was always us asking them over.

There was no one at the Tent when I arrived. Espresso at £2 was expensive for the area (twice the price of 405). I sat outside in the sunshine which was nice but spoiled (not the Tents fault) as two women smoking sat down right beside me. The rest of the place was empty!
