The best restaurants in Wakefield South Wakefield Yorkshire and The Humber

The terrible service was only topped by the diabolical table booking system ( spoiler alert- there is none!) so you’re expected to huddle around packed like sardines - hot and sweaty with a bunch of people all of whom- are dressed for a night out- and look like drenched chickens - sweaty and angsty too! If this wasn’t bad enough- the pricey food is average. And the lack of options for vegetarians is pathetic ( pasta arrabiata- really?) Never in a month of a million Sundays would you pay me to visit here again.

Very rude staff! After having a lovely walk around the dam with friends. To be told unless we had a booking we could not buy a cup of tea. Wouldn’t even make eye contact to say this in a polite way.

Pretty basic Takeaway food, if you like your run-of-the-mill takeaway food, this won't disappoint. This is no YOH Burger, but then again YOH is incredibly pricey

It’s very rare I write a review but The Castle deserves one. Went for Sunday lunch at the weekend and the food was excellent, staff were extremely friendly polite and went above and beyond. Lovely atmosphere. 5 stars all around.

They've changed the doner meat, it's a bit thicker and isn't nice . It's a shame because I'd order regularly. Won't be returning until it changes

Me and my family can't complain about ordering a nice curry from Shanices when in Wakefield. Nice and cheap for a family of 4, we only ever order Chicken Korma's from here with Pilau Rice and a few garlic naan, as we aren't big on spice and the food never disappoints, sweet and creamy just how we like it. Really can't complain, we get one about once a month. The food is incredibly consistent, so we never have to worry when ordering form Shanices, in our experience. 10/10

I ordered a pizza, 45min, no problem I've used square pizza before, greatfood I'm only a 2 mins drive, It was 15 mins early, shame it's luke warm Don't think I'll bother again

We ordered a take away but really wish we hadn’t bothered. It was like a really bad cheap microwave meal. My partner said his was very bad too. I’m so hungry and I can’t even eat the food it’s so terrible, my noodles were half burnt/hard like they had been microwaved and literally just tasted of salt. Sorry, definitely will not be returning.

The best Thai ever, the food is amazing it’s my fav place to eat. Staff are friendly prices are reasonable. Take cash though as they don’t accept card payments,

Food is really good here best kebab around however service really let's it down only excepts orders when they feel like it. Last time I ordered it took 2 hours tonight there just not excepting orders not reliable at all.

I've just had the best breakfast that I've had for a very long time. My wife had an excellent omelette with mushrooms to die for. Will come back next time we visit Yorkshire.
