Rinaldi Ristorante Italiano in Wakefield

We visit this restaurant every time we travel up from Bristol to see family in Wakefield . The restaurant is great . The atmosphere is good , staff excellent . You don’t have to book which is helpful . However the food is outstanding . The Ribs are the families favourite . They are delicious . We also had Duck from the specials board which was great . We even ordered a take away extra portion of Ribs to take home back to Bristol . Many thanks to Nigel who looked after us during our meal . We’ve been coming to Rinaldis for 30 years or so . It’s as good as ever . Many thanks

The menu is huge and slightly overwhelming and this is sometimes slightly worrying but the food was really good and service prompt.

We had family staying with us and we were looking for something that would suit everyone. Rinaldi’s seemed like a good option. As there were 9 of us we had messaged the restaurant and they were expecting us. We were seated very quickly and that was the best part of the evening. We ordered drinks including various wines, beers, mock tails. We also ordered if what turned out to be a very elusive jug of water. The drinks arrived in dribs and drabs but no jug of water. After a 25 minute wait we managed to flag down a member of staff to order our food. We also ordered a jug of water. Starters came pretty quickly but no jug of water. The table was cleared of starters and we thought we would make a final attempt to order a jug of water. Spoiler alert - it did not arrive. The main courses arrived - well some of them anyway. My Veal arrived -over cooked and not really warm - my side did not and nor did four of the pizzas. When the first two remaining pizzas arrived they were wrong. Both had to go back. The next one arrived after half the other main courses were eaten - still no potatoes for me. We had a report that one of the pizzas had “caught” in the oven. Burnt then? Apparently burning belly pork is ok but pizza not so much. This pizza did not arrive until everyone had finished eating. During the serving of the main course two of our party went to the bar to order water - they can back empty handed after queuing for 10 mins as they had run out of glasses. This can 5 mins later but with 6 glasses instead of nine. It was an exhausting experience. We came to Rinaldis looking for something to suit everyone but it ended up suiting no one. 🙁

I'd like to thank the staff at Rinaldis for organising a table(s) last night for (13 people) our family 80th birthday celebrations. The restaurant was extremely busy on our arrival but were seated within minimal waiting time. The food was excellent as always as were all your very friendly and attentive staff.( Please tell them ) First class service. Always a pleasure to dine at Rinaldis and of course will return . Thanks again.

Friendly staff, ordered a few meals others were nice but ordered the 8oz fillet steak and a good decent chunk of it was inedible, steak knife wouldn't cut through it, asked for a sharper knife, they said was a steak knife amd didn't have any sharper, the chips had black chunks in them too, they did offer another but as we were the first to go in we did unfortunately recieve ours very last after everyone else onece the resturant was full. So as we waited a while we didn't want to wait anymore, didn't bother ordering deserts for any of us won't be returning I've had better green king rump steak. Unfortunately didnt take a picture of the steak before but for what was lost on the steak to what we recieved it was a fair size that was inedible 16/07/2024

Returned here after previously visiting, starters were good and initial service fine then came the main meal my wife had swordfish from the specials board I had a steak rib eye the steak was shocking in appearance and cold my wife's swordfish was cold and oily, after 10 minutes no one asked if the meals were OK then when we complained the waiter/manager proceeded to say why did you not let me know we would've warmed it up for you I'm sure it should've been hot on arrival it's not a hard task. The waitress took my wife's glass of wine with wine still remaining in the glass, overall poor service poor quality food. I won't return and think about going unless you're a regular

My husband and I have just devoured a fantastic seafood pizza each for lunch. We asked for some slight adjustments when we made our order and the pizzas were made to perfection. Excellent service from friendly and efficient staff.

Outstanding food! Never had a bad meal here. Excellent for children too and their children's menu is good value. Staff are fantastic and really friendly. 5 stars from us, thank you.

We love eating here and I have actually reviewed the restaurant before (which I avoid doing) but this was such an improved night that our previous one. We did have to wait 40 minutes for a table but it was busy and we were all seated in order of arriving which I have no problem with. The staff were friendly and attentive without being over bearing and the food was exceptional. Easily the best restaurant of this kind in the area for both food and atmosphere. Rinaldi’s - you are very much back in the hood books!!

TERRIBLE ...customer service was shocking. Party of 9 for an 18th. Rudley told I was not allowed to take a cake in, never known that in a restaurant before! Not allowed to be shown to table to put balloons before birthday girl arrived! They wouldn't split the bill for us ! Seemed like they didn't wven want us there Ordered extra bread, never arrived. They put a real dampner on our celebration, will never return!

Witnessed a middled aged employee bullying a younger one, ruined what beforehand was a beautiful meal. I asked my waiter what was the issue there, he explained to me the older waitress was named Letitia and this was a regular occurrence with her behaving this way towards the young staff.. what a dreadful place to work. For this reason I shall not be returning was rather disturbing to watch.

Been visiting Rinaldis for many years as it is our favourite Italian restaurant although not been for a while due to illness, we returned on Thursday evening for a birthday but asked to be sat on a quieter table due to my treatment plan, the staff were accommodating & managed to sit us in a booth out of the way, the food was excellent as always & the atmosphere just as I remembered, I’ve really missed Rinaldis but will certainly be returning

had a very nice evening here. great selection of wine and cocktails. lou on the bar was very knowledgeable and made us some fantastic cocktails and gave us insight into the best red wines to choose for our meal. the dishes we ate were delicious and obviously made using only top quality ingredients. my steak was cooked perfectly, and my partners pasta was great, too. the portion sizes were very big for the price. service was very attentive by the waiters, particularly one bald waiter whose name i forgot to ask. overall, we had a great experience and will definitely return. for the quality of the food, the price was lower than most restaurants. really impressed!

Tried to book a table for a family celebration and was told very abruptly that they don't take bookings and would not make an exception to this. Was told we could turn up and hope to get lucky but if not we'd just have to wait. that's the best they can do. Appalling attitude.

By far the best Italian restaurant in Wakefield. We have started going here regularly because it is just so good. The garlic bread is unbeatable which is my go to starter. My husband gets the salmon pasta which he absolutely loves. I have tried the bolognese, risotto, lasagne and filet steak. All perfect. The fillet is my favourite with chunky chips. Head waiter Nigel is just amazing. He makes that place. I think the day he leaves or retires I’ll be gutted. It does get very busy and they don’t do bookings, so be prepared to wait because it is worth it. The only think I have noticed is the huge turn around with staff. Everyone I go, the waiting staff are always new to the ones that were there on my visit before. Doesn’t change the service though. They all try their best.

I’ve been coming to Rinaldis for many years and they never fail to disappoint. Some of the comments on here are not justified. The staff are great & all play their part. The lady who shows your to your table is front of house. She doesn’t take drink orders etc. people who comment on negativity are liars I’m afraid. I have never had one bad meal since it opened decades ago. The food is simply delicious. Nigel the manager is lovely and makes every visit special. He’s such a lovely guy and super efficient. The filet steak is sublime, the pasta is perfect & the specials are super. Thank you all at Rinaldis you are amazing.

Strange atmosphere from the moment we walked in. We weren’t greeted when we entreated the restaurant. The girl took us to our table without saying a word, put the menus down and walked away without taking our drinks orders. Food was bland and service wasn’t great. We had to go to the bar to pay as nobody came over to give us the bill. Not worth the money. Will stick with La Fortezza

Rude arrogant managers, waited 1 hour 30 mins for a table and when asked when our table would be ready the reply was we called it already and would we like to be put back on the list. I’m not hard of hearing and neither is my wife or my 11 year old son,the lady called a table for Robinson for 2 people but we were a party of 4. Clearly a mistake on their part and when confronted she claims we were wrong and she was right - quote “ I’m not arguing with you”. Let’s be honest - mediocre food at best and no booking policies to maximise on profit over dining experience. And appalling customer service to top it all off. Why bother!

My first time at Rinaldi's with family and friends. They service was very good, despite it being a very busy Monday night. We were welcomed by Mackenzie and seated promptly. The special board was brought over, a nice touch, and drinks were served very quickly. We had a selection of mixed starters and main courses and all were delicious. The dishes were full of Italian flavour, for a moment, I thought I was back in Italy! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and it's definitely worth the wait for a table when it's busy.
