Was very disappointed today. I ordered a soup with cheese toastie, the food was good and the cheese toastie was not enough so I ordered an additional one. The soup and toastie togeather are £10, the soup on its own was £6.50. I only caught site of the card machine briefly as I paid and noticed it was £6 for the additional toastie. After sitting down and thinking about it I questioned a member of staff to check the price was right and was told it was correct. I commented that £6 was steep for an additional toastie. After more consideration I thought this was really a bit unfair so spoke to the owner before leaving. I questioned why my first toastie was £3.50 yet the second one was £6. I was told that it was subsidised by the soup to which I replied, well it is an additional one to accompany my soup, I had not ordered it on its own and said that I thought it was not very fair or customer freindly. I was told "you can have your £2.50 back, but don't order an extra cheese toastie again, I can't stand here all day making sandwiches for £3.50 each". In my humble opinion this is poor customer service and unfair pricing. For example, if you go up to S17 Cafe up the road in Bradway they will serve an extra 1/2 a cheese toastie or additional one for the same extra price as the first one. I think I will drive the extra mile in future to enjoy better customer service elsewhere without leaving and feeling ripped off. I understand that businesses have a profit to make but fair pricing is an important element in any business to keep customers happy.

A great Winter pub, probably summer too with plenty of outdoor seating ... but we visited on a cold, damp, dark October Friday lunch time. The fire was roaring and the atmosphere set. As a ex-dog owner, I find it irritating when owners seem to have little control over their animal ... but, it's a country pub and if I didn't want to face the possiblity of dogs in the bar then I should go where they're not allowed. They are allowed in the Crown, and it turned out to be worth the 'irritation'. LOL. Although clearly sat in the Bar area and not the 'Restaurant Space' it was a very nice surprise to get Table-Service for food & drink ordering, delivery of that and payment. The staff are very friendly, aware of their regulars who seemed to make up the majority of customers and keen to make first-timers into regulars. Service was quick. The food was very good pub-rub; tasty, filling and not expensive. It's off the beaten track on the edge of the city of sheffield but could be in the remotest of villages, there is no sense of the big city close by. There is also, plenty of easy access parking. Our whole visit was good-value for money and a very nice experience.

Quick, friendly and efficient service on a busy Friday night, but the fish chips were expensive and disappointing. Chips pale and floppy, i.e. undercooked, batter on fish soggy. First time I've tried this fish and chips shop. Won't go again.

Ordered a takeaway... probably the worst warmed up s*1t I have ever had. Why takeaway restaurants insist on cooking in advance then warming up is beyond me. I had a couple of starters, wasn't really hungry, but the lamb chops were inedible, dry and like leather, onion bhaji was the same. It take just a few minutes in a tandoori to cook lamb chops FFS, you can use delivery time to rest, what is wrong with you!
