Have been coming for years for both food and drink whether on our own or with friends. Always great staff and atmosphere and great food. Been twice this week and the only let down was the chips!!(sorry!) not like the old skin on chips. Just typical frozen tasteless chips. And quite a few what we always called scrappy chips. Sorry but please go back to the old chips.

A bit of hidden gem, with great views of the valley .. strangely you have to stand in the car park for the best views!

Lovely pub with grub, down a small road. Recommended from a pub guide book. Nice selection of beers and a good menu. Quiet when we called in on a midweek afternoon, but very popular. Plenty of seating inside and a large marquee outside. Large car park to the side and rear. Nice chat with the friendly staff.

Best fish pie I have ever tasted, EVER! Husband had the salt and pepper Cod and was also really impressed. Drinks were good, atmosphere was good and the traditional pub style feel was really up our street. We aren't local, but if we come back near here we will visit again.

A great pub, perfect for an early bar or bite to eat midweek. Reasonable prices and classic pub grub.

Lovely little pub with a great amosphere

Been here on multiple occasions. I would describe this a 'proper pub', intimate, great food, fun pub quiz, staff on point and the landlord has half a personality aswell. Best pub in Sheffield.

Friendly staff in a lovely spot. Starters were delicious garlic mushrooms and pulled pork bao buns. The 3 of us had lasagna for main, sadly this was a massive disappointment. Definitely not homemade, it was a cheap shop bought ready meal put together in a tin. Barely any taste or meat in! The homemade chips were amazing though!! Please make lasagna from scratch or at least get a decent shop bought one because that one served today was not good.

Lovely old charm pub with good friendly atmosphere. Dogs made welcome. Can recommend the pie and chips and veggie lasagne.

Called in 4 of us for a friend's wake ( Fri April 26) the staff I presume didn't know hospitality as I work in hospitality at a well known place in Sheffield, the bar was a free bar, we was with the group for the wake ,they didn't acknowledge to people as they came in the pub as you should from experience, so we got charged as we didn't know until one of the group told us, asked for a refund and was rudely told he wouldn't, won't be going there again , RUDE STA,F,F

Had happy memories of past times at this place, some years ago. What a let down. It was cold, miserable and dank. My friend said her sea bass was good, but my fish goujons were glorified chunky fish fingers. The "salad" was half a dozen bistro leaves, and the chips were deep fried par boiled potatoes. Each chip was about 6" long. They reminded me of when my mother used to cook chips in a deep pan, some 70 years ago. When the fat was old and burned. The man was quite stunned when I replied to his "is everything alright" question and said it was appalling. He did not offer a replacement, refund or discount. Plus, they sold non-alco gin and beer, but not wine. When I asked for water I was given tap water, with lots of ice and lemon, not the bottled water I had to ask specifically for. No doubt they will be surprised they have not got a good review.

Superb little pub everything a pub should be

This is a beautiful old English pub nesting on the edge of some beautiful countryside. From the second you walk through the door, you are transported back in time with the new but retro decorations. The food is excellent 👌 great value, and fantastic quality. It's definitely a place to visit, especially if you're planning a nice walk. I think dogs are welcome, but I would check beforehand.

Best yorkshire pudding and gravy i’ve ever eaten. stumbled upon this place when looking for somewhere near to eat lunch and was not disappointed! Alice served us and was very lovely and quick with service and checking if we needed anything more.

First visit here and won't be the last. Excellent service from the lovely staff they are so helpful. Probably the best Sunday lunch I've had a in a pub. Very tasty thick cut beef nice mashed and roast potatoes lovely Yorkshire pudding. A very pleasant experience we will be back.

Myself and my cats went to the Crown in to sing Christmas carols with All Saints Church. This establishment is difficult to locate in the dark. It was beautifully decorated. A large number of the congregation were there. We were accompanied by live instruments that were played by relatives of and members of the congregation. I sat with the vicar's wife, her friend and the one in charge of children at church. I had a mixed drink of orange squash with fizzy lemonade. My cat Nancy was enjoying the singing whilst walking on the window sill and the table. A not so nice member of staff verbally reprimanded me for having Nancy on the table. The three ladies I was sitting with witnessed this I found the staff members remarks inappropriate. I think all pubs should be pet friendly. Nancy and Benji are known for being well behaved. They come with me everywhere to support me with Asperger's. I would recommend The Crown Inn staff be trained in courtesy.

Excellent Christmas meal, relaxing and very helpful staff

Absolutely first class. 54 of us for an end of term Christmas lunch. Staff were so attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Food was brilliant. Couldn't have asked any more . Well done everyone.

Pleasant welcome and efficient service. We are elderly gentleman friends. Great at lunchtime as some lighter options - indeed the best omelette’s anywhere (with excellent chips!). Evening food menu is excellent well presented pub grub at reasonable price. A good selection of beers well kept.

All the staff are amazing, today I was "looked after" Emily, Phoebe and Luke. They are honestly the most efficient, polite and friendly staff I have ever had the pleasure of. Thank You x

The best Sunday lunch I've had for years. Excellent service the staff can't do enough for you. I had beef it was so tasty with fresh vegetables lovely mashed potatoes and tasty gravy. It's a lovely pub we will definitely be back.

Attended our friends wedding on Saturday and what a welcome! We were all so very well looked after. The pub, the bar, the beer garden are all warm, welcoming and decorated to a high standard. Thank you for the delicious food, wide range of drinks and friendly service.

Kids football presentation night held here. The team were welcoming, food was good quality and portions were very generous. Bit of a hidden gem, one we will make an effort to return to.

Poor service, poor food, overcooked chicken and asparagus and a fork is often supplied with the main course- shouldn’t have to ask for one! Certainly won’t visit again

Lovely traditional pub, great for walkers and very doggy friendly. They have a small selection of well-kept great beers and the food is wonderful. All served with a smile from the friendly staff.

We've had lunch here twice in a week and loved it. Great food, reasonable prices, top service and lovely clean fresh toilets. The staff could not have been more helpful.

Pretty standard Sunday dinner . Wasn't a fan of the beef being brown all the way through , veg was over boiled and a bit tasteless, roasted beg would be better. Huge pile of mash on plate and only one roast potato. Having given my criticism however the rest was good, stuffing and Yorkshire's were great. Most people would think it was ok.

A quids worth of vegetables and two slices of Turkey for £14!!! Average fare at premium prices. Good beers, well served. Don't go for the food. Very disappointed.

Went for a meal with the wife. Loved it! Even though it was a busy Friday night the service was fast and friendly and our waitress couldn't be more helpful. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. I had the tower burger - top notch. Good selection of real ales at the bar. Would definitely go back. Update 8/3/23 I have started going here for the Sunday night quiz. Lots of fun and a decent quiz pitched at just the right level. Starts at about 8:30.

Nice pub shame about drinks prices, £5,80 for a pint of san Miguel and £9.60 for a large Red.👎

Had great sunday roast today, just like home made and excellent value. The kids meals were massive and went down great guns by my two grandsons. A really friendly atmosphere, excellent staff and service. Will be going again and again.

I went bangers and mash, should have gone pie. Bit disappointed. Not enough gravy and the Yorkshire pudding was a bit tough 😕

Had a great meal last Wednesday I had sausage and mash in a giant Yorkshire pudding with vegetables, my wife had a omelette with side salad and home made chips portions were really big and very reasonably priced. Staff were only to happy to assist with any questions we had will definitely go again

This used to be our go to pub, every Tuesday and Friday,we are a group of roughly 8 old school friends who meet every week for early bar, drinks only. Unfortunately we cannot get a decent pint here, we are all bitter drinkers and we like traditional bitter not the grapefruit tasting beers that micro brewers offer, I’m afraid Doombar doesn’t cut it either for us , the result is we have moved on, unbelievable but the Dev in Dore now has a better offering than the crown

We decided to pop in for a drink as we hadn’t been to The Crown for a long time. From the moment we stepped inside we were made very welcome. Excellent service & friendly staff. We decided to have food which didn’t disappoint either. Lovely homemade pie served with a smile. The decor has been brightened up since our last visit which makes a big difference, I always thought it a gloomy place before. It’s clearly very popular with regulars and their beautiful dogs who are also made welcome in one side of the pub. Really looking forward to returning soon.

Called in today with Sharon my wife, Ruby and Bryn our boxers. We both had hot roast baguette, chips, salad and coleslaw with lemon meringue pie and cream to follow with coffee's as driving. We have been before without dogs and had the steak pie excellent also. Very welcoming friendly, attentive staff and the bonus of dog friendly, sat near real fire too. Highly recommended. Thanks

Calling in here for the first time, we had a really excellent Sunday roast meal. We chose mixed meat, which consisted of really generous portions of ham, pork, turkey and beef, all beautifully cooked, together with all the trimmings. The plate was so full it defeated even my husband, who has a very healthy appetite! We will certainly visit here again when next in the area.

Terrible customer service, we arrived and before we got through the door we were told we couldn’t have a drink (it’s a pub ?!) and then when we came back to meet friends we were greeted in a negative manor and our friends said the same. The food is good and the beer is good but not sure I would come back.
