This was our first visit we were made to feel very welcome the food and drinks were spot on will definitely be returning and will be recommending to friends.

This pub was perfect...I met up with my daughter and son in law and our three dogs at Eccleshall Woods ...after our lovely wild windy wet walk we needed a place to eat and dry out ! We were warmly welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed our roast dinners and puds ..a great choice and great value too ..we had two nut roasts and roast beef ...complete with all the usual fresh veggies mash and roasties Yorkshire pud and stuffing ...more than enough and spares for the dog too ! Pudding was equally yummy ...thank you to the friendly staff who helped make our day a happy one ....compliments to the chef too 🤗🍂

Visited o a rainy Thursday night.Beer was excellent _ keeps a very good cellar.Crackendale beer was superb.Chicken caesarea was very good.Perhaps give option of anchovies.Chicken parmigiano was good.Service was excellent.Dogs welcome.Will return Sweets sundae was good as stick y toffee pudding.Good choice well worth it

Just went for a refreshing drink on a scorching hot afternoon. Met up with a couple of friends and ended up having a great meal and a good laugh with the girls in charge! Update, enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch this afternoon 4th Aug 24. Highly recommend going here for a Sunday roast!

Had Scampi, chips and garden peas. Scampi tasteless, peas dried up and the chips vile, all I could taste was dirty cooking oil. Pub needs a complete renovation, brown, dingy and dated inside. Toilets are very old, gunge round the soap dispenser nozzle. I get the feeling it is a hardened boozer type pub with the pool table. Won't be going again.

Lovely pub for Sunday lunch. First family outing with my son, daughter-in-law, 13 yr old, 4 year old disabled grandson in a wheelchair and 6 month old twins. Could not have had such welcoming staff, they were lovely!

The experience we had today was amazing, such a friendly atmosphere and helpful staff such as Wendy; it’s definitely a child friendly place as they catered to our child today and was so welcoming to him. They have a wide variety of food and the impressive vegetarian and vegan options was brilliant; the food was perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back again

Staff very friendly and the Christmas Lunch was good and served promptly. Good selection of vegetables with the turkey including carrots, sprouts, and swede. Other people in our party said the nut roast was excellent and they also enjoyed the mackerel pate and the fish main. The chocolate log however was disappointing and very small, it was dark chocolate not milk which I personally am not keen on. Please serve real cream, the aerosol cream is vile, sweet, foamy and has no substance. Presentation of the sweet was very dull. The pub needs a revamp inside and looks very tired in places especially the toilets. It lacks any atmosphere as we were the only party in and obviously relies on regular customers who are provided with a pool table and a huge TV. The current landlady has been in charge for 4.5 years and I would have expected the general decor of the pub to have been updated which sadly let's it down. However she was was a lovely lady and a very helpful host, as was the chef who came out with some of our food.

Fantastic food and friendly service. Ate from the main menu on a quiet Tuesday evening. Decent choice for the family (2 vegetarians included) with options for gluten and dairy free. The food was obviously homemade and delicious. A big change from the usual pub chain offerings and better value. Quieter than they deserve to be for the quality of food. Been back for lunch twice now and always perfect. Recommend the homemade chips.

Always found this to be a warm and pleasant pub. First visit in a few years and my opinion hasn't changed! UPDATE (15.05.21) Called the day before pubs allow drinkers back inside. Still an enjoyable experience. Sat outside under a large umbrella/awning. Beers are looked after and there's an impressive range. Staff know their job! UPDATE (13.11.22) Called in for a bite and a couple of pints. It was busy but waiting times were acceptable and as always, we felt looked after. This remains a great pub.

Brilliant little place to stop and have some food and a pint, supplied balloons and 4ft led numbers for a 90th birthday party here and I'll deffo be calling in next time I take the kids to the park. Thank you for being so helpfull xx

I think the burgers were a little undercooked but that is understandable as we came in just before the kitchen was about to close. They are dog friendly, and the service was good. Ample parking spaces too.

We absolutely love this pub! We have gone with both friends and family and they’ve enjoyed it too. There is a really good selection of vegetarian meals which I really appreciate. The food is always reasonably priced and clearly home made! The Sunday roast is lovely too.

Nice pub to visit with Casta and Boothroyd. On a busy road but you would not know inside. Very peaceful. Large open plan comfortable pub. Has TV's, and also has darts and a pool table. Popular for good home cooked food. There are tables to the front by the road or a rear basic patio by the car park. Four real ales. The boys had Stancill Barnsley Bitter. Excellent pint.

Great pub. Very good quiz hosted by an excellent quizmaster on a Thursday at 8.30pm. Good selection of ales and food.

I decided to book here due to the vegan and children’s menu. This was for four adults and four children. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. They did table service to take the food orders which helps with small children and they brought the kids meals out first which is always helpful. I would highly recommend to all.

What a lovely meal and service was very shocked at the price of wine paid less in the town centre we will return for food but not wine sorry 😐

Just been to the Mill houses pub for a lunchtime meal and drink , we hadn't been there for a while (not since change of landlord/lady) The food was lovely - best pie I've ever tasted-steak and ale! My husband had crispy chicken which was so good. Friendly staff and good atmosphere. Can recommend and will definitely go again.

Very disappointing, we’d gone for the festive menu, but it’s pre book only, which isn’t clear from the website - you actually have to pre book your menu choices when you book your table. The wine was very disappointing for a NZ Sauvignon Blanc. It tasted quite different to any we’ve tasted before. There was only one member of staff looking after everyone, she did her best, but she was run off her feet. The Blades were on the television so the room was full of young men watching the footie. The food was average, my cheesecake was frozen in the middle. Needless to say, we won’t be returning.

four of us had fish and chips here the staff tried very hard but the food was just bland and uninspiring and served warm not hot

Place was virtually empty on the Friday of the Jubilee weekend. Not surprising as place dirty, staff moody and drinks ridiculously overpriced. £10.85 for a pint of San Miguel and a medium wine. Gone to the dogs over recent years, we wont be returning!

We stopped for a bit of lunch and were so impressed with the level of service. Above and beyond and very tasty food on top. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Booked last minute as another pub let us down - 11 of us in total ate starters, mains, and desert. Customer service was OUTSTANDING! My young nephew is allergic to many things, both chefs came and asked about allergies managed to accommodate for him perfectly. A large verity from the menu was, All meals cooked to PERFECTION. Will definitely be returning even though we live an hour away! Well done staff and thank you so much for hosting us!!!

So glad we found this lovely place for a quick meal on a stop over in the area. It’s so rare to find tasty freshly made veggie and vegan pub food so we were very happy we chose the Millhouse. The vegan lasagna was amazing and I don’t think I’ve had a desert as nice as the Lemon Meringue Tart in years! The staff were lovely and welcoming and it was a treat to meet the resident four legged friend too. We will most definitely be back, thank you for the perfect meal.

I visited this evening with my wife, daughter son-in-law and baby granddaughter. We found the three members of staff we met to be courteous and helpful. They made us feel that our custom was truly appreciated. There was a good vegan/vegetarian menu - it wasn't an afterthought. My daughter and son-in-law eat vegetarian food mid-week so this was a bonus. My wife and I both had the pulled pork gyros option.. Very satisfying, generous portions. The head waitress assured me that the pulled pork is cooked slowly for 24 hours. I can well believe it. Delicious. It was nice to dine in an independent establishment where some of the customers were clearly just there for social drinks. There was a pleasant atmosphere. It was more than a boring corporate restaurant dressed up as a pub. We will definitely be back before very long.

We called in for lunch whilst on a walk. We chose the roast meat sandwich. One of us had the pork, the other the beef. In both cases, the meat was extremely tough. The biggest issue we had was that the owners dog was roaming free in the pub, and we ate our meal with the dogs nose perched on our table, watching every bite we took. I do not think it is acceptable to have a German shepherd type dog, loose in a pub, especially when eating. Not everyone likes dogs!

We had a late lunch for 3 of us there yesterday and ate outside on the beautiful wooden furniture in the new, impressive beer-garden at the front. All 3 of our dishes, (Mushroom & Asparagus Pie, Batty's Burger & Pulled Pork) were excellent. The pie had a great firm, tasty filling and the texture of the home-made pastry was perfect, it even had a little pastry mushroom on top! The service was fantastic, drinks being served both at the bar, as well as table service. Will definitely be going again regularly..

Spent a lovely evening with family for food and drinks, we booked a table outside - it was perfectly shady but could still enjoy the sun. We ordered starters and mains (and of course the kids had to have a dessert) everyone had a lovely meal with plenty of selection available. Was pleasantly surprised at how much improved, cleaner and cosier the new Millhouses is in comparision to previously. My friends and I tried the lovely Pieminister pies and love the mixture of suet and shortcrust pastry. Will definately visit again.

Came here for Sunday lunch only 1 other couple in , we all ate beef and pork the beef was like shoe leather not nice at all and the pub was freezing cold needed to keep my coat on and still freezing, nice staff though...

Pub fully booked. But empty. Cold. Not a fun experience. Turned lots of potential customers away. No large glasses of wine in a pub!

Not very happy. Had the battered cod which was actually over cooked (mushy peas dry) my wife had fish finger sandwich but was not given an option(baguette, toast, bread) and also over cooked. Never asked if we wanted dessert so paid and left. Disappointed as we have visited on previous occasions and been happy with the meal and service - but not today.

Got a taxi from Sheffield centre & this restaurant was further away than we thought it would be. Thankfully it was worth the journey. We had a lovely lunch in a relaxed atmosphere. Service was excellent & not badly priced for what we had.

We were a family of six and came on a Saturday night. The food was excellent as was the service and the prices were very reasonable. I liked the table lay outs - they were quite spread out so we weren’t in anyone else’s space. A great night and we’ll definitely be back!

We decided to call in for Sunday Lunch. On arrival the staff were very friendly & professional, asked if we were just having a drink or would we like to eat. We were shown to our table & our drinks order was taken. The decor is lovely and cosy & the place has a very nice feel far from how i remember it being around 10 years ago!! The food was absolutely lovely & was a cut above most gastro pubs. My wife also really enjoyed it and we look forward to sampling the rest of the menu very soon. Very impressed would highly recommend calling in if you haven’t already!!

Surprisingly quiet for Sunday lunch but still a nice atmosphere - warm and comfortable with background music at a nice low level. Limited menu but I think this is a positive as it usually means fresh ingredients and attention to detail. The Sunday roast was delicious and reasonably priced with half portions at half price for children.

Went to grab a late lunch with my partner. We only saw one staff member who was friendly but not very professional. We ordered the burger each and were surprised at the price especially as each topping cost an extra £1.50 each, this included cheese, bacon or onion rings. We had a latte each which was nice but we waited a while for it. The food took a while to come and when it did it was presented very nicely but taste was disappointing. We’d ordered a side of onion rings as it stated that onion rings were an extra £1.50 as a topping. It turned out that the burgers came with two onion rings! I ordered my burger with the speciality cheese sauce which came separately in a little jug. It was very oily and appeared to have split although it did taste nice. The fries were clearly bought in frozen which was very disappointing as everything else appeared to be home made. I found the burger very bland and surprisingly it was made with what appeared to be sun ripened tomatoes. All in all very disappointed. The meal for two of us including a latte each came to £30

Came here for my boyfriend's birthday lunch. We had booked but didn't need to, had choice of the whole pub it was practically empty. Waitress was lovely and so was the food! I had the beef burger which came with a tomato chutney and pickles. My boyfriend had the fish finger sandwich which also looked lovely. Might I add the hand cut chips are TO DIE FOR! Don't go for the fries, the proper chips are like nothing I've tasted before. There didn't seem to be any heating on when we came, other visitors mentioned it to which the waitress said she would put it on as me and my bf had our coats on most of the time! Definitely worth another visit, maybe for tea next time.

Had a lovely family birthday meal, food was delicious and the service very friendly and helpful. The staff even joined in singing happy birthday when they brought a cake to the table!

Cosy, warm and inviting. What more do you want from a pub. The food is really good to. Everything is homemade no frozen or microwaved rubbish here. Drinks priced reasonably although a gin and tonic is on the steep side. Sunday lunch are excellent as well but can get very busy.

The Millhouses has really really lovely fresh Veggie Food. I have eaten the Chick Pea Curry & its delicious. There is also a Wellington with Portobello Mushrooms, Spinach & cranberries & hazelnuts inside. This is my favourite. I have also tried the Mushroom Stroganoff. The falafel & halloumi Burger is also a very good option. Sometimes I will eat a very good piece of fish & the Millhouses had fantastically fresh fish too. It really has the best food in the neighbourhood & easy to walk too & wonderful friendly & professional staff. It's my favourite local. !

Went to a friends baby shower at the pub, we had several tables reserved away from the main part of the pub but not in a completely separate room so had the best of both worlds. We had a lovely buffet with some prosecco and had a really nice time, it was definitely great value for money. The staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Good selection of gins and wines and all reasonably priced. Been in here for food before and loved it but didn't know they were able to accommodate events, would definitely recommend for a small event for either family or friends.

I was walking the dog and felt the need to slake my thirst. They treated me as if I were there to spend £1000 not just £4. They were very nice about the dog too. Marvin Gaye playing to top it all off. Smashing spot.
