It doesn't serve food just drinks good bar staff good environment prices reasonable a poor district thay know the nobheads so its safe we are working class people that just want a good time out and the staff make sure we do this place is underrated but lokeels still come in

Lovely local pub with friendly bar staff. Good prices. £3 for a Desperado £3 for pint of carling in the week with the app when sport is on. Sundays is good for Karaoke 🎤 worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Special £2.00 pint carling.all weekend and mon Thursday

Didn't eat there, but we called in, and it was a great pub. Fantastic atmosphere and felt friendly and welcoming. Great place for the family to. Enjoyed it enough to pop back later that day for another Guinness 😀 👌 👍

Cheap beer offer early week days

Came today with my mum and it was really nice. Bar staff great and the atmosphere was good. Everyone just getting ready for the football as we left.

This was an night out when shakey had the Christmas bingo on, when I arrived I suddenly realised I left my ld in taxi or in the pub, 3 weeks later I get a msg , and the owner personally delivered my id , many thanks to the shakey team , be coming very soon 😊

Good place to go if you want to relax and grab a couple of drinks with friends. Quite small. Doesn't have a big outdoor area. Serves drinks only.

I visited today and ordered a drink. The barmaid had absolutely zero customer service skills. She said "what you having", after finally ending her conversation with her colleague to serve me. I asked for a San Miguel please and her response was "£4.20" no please and no thank you. How on earth do people get these jobs in hospitality with zero customer service skills? The toilets absolutely reeked. The stench of weeks old urine was acrid. The bar area was adorned with chipped paint, stained ceilings, stained air conditioning surrounds and stained floors. I have always praised Greene King bars for their customer service and well-presented bars, but this place is grim. I finished my drink and left. There is a great little bar around the corner, called The Northern Monkey, the service is great and it is much less depressing than this dive. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

Great atmosphere and music in the bar. Staff friendly and sound. Decent prices and location too. Definitely head back next time we're in Sheffield.

This is racist pub! Showed an ID but they said it’s not a UK ID so it’s not allowed! So avoid!

My friend has an EU ID and has lived in the UK for 10 years and was told her ID wasn’t valid because it wasn’t British, makes no sense, isn’t Sheffield multicultural? This has not been an issue at any other pubs in Sheffield nor in any other city? Xenophobic and unacceptable.

Didn’t accept my 28 year old friend’s ID as it was not a UK one. Never been to any pub that has had this rule, feels very xenophobic and goes against the Greene King’s policy about acceptable ID. Essentially, if you can’t prove you’re a British national, you’re not allowed a drink in this pub. It’s unacceptable.

Wouldn’t accept a EU ID, so refused our whole group of 25yrs+. Greene king pub website says nothing about this, and EU ID has never been a problem in the UK before, so why here? Just seems like they rejected it purely on the fact it wasn’t UK. Not cool.

Didn’t accept us as it wasn’t a UK ID despite the ID form clearly stating the age. Simply appalling and unacceptable.

Called in at the shakey on hillsbourgh corner pre owls match on 19th November 2022, met a group of mates for a few bevs before ko, very busy pub with great selection of beers on offer, getting served was never a problem, now getting to customer service when I got in the pub I realised I had left my match ticket at home the landlord heard of this and went into the back to print out my ticket. It would have been very easy for him to say he was to busy because it was full, what he did was real customer service and would just like to say a big thank you, a proper landlord top man.

So sorry about incident yday where I fell asleep in your pub . Unfortunately I suffer from sporadic bouts of narcolepsy and this was one of those occasions. A friendly pub, catering for all ages. Top class well priced bar and staff.

No longer sells real ale and very expensive. £10:50 for a pint of bitter and a pint of lager.

Disappointing. The pub is on the cask ale trail but all real ale pumps have been removed. Green King are now marketing Craft beers which are overpriced and not that nice.£11 for two craft beers is extortion for a pub in Sheffield.

Green King pub on busy road. Choice of 2 real ales. I had the IPA rather than the stronger Abbot Ale. It was fine. The pub is one open room with lots of TV's. It had a good Friday afternoon buzz.

On a three day stay in Sheffield my brother Stephen and I decided to jump the tram down from Sheffield City Centre to Hillsborough and visit some of the great pubs to be found here, one of the first places we visited was The Shakey Pub ,what a fab little pub. Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, the interior is as traditional as you can get, the main room is dominated by an eye catching serving bar, tv's to enjoy the sport, lovely ,cosy pubby decor and furnishings and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, all housed in a beautiful tile fronted building . We were here on a Wednesday afternoon, pub was just starting to get busy with a great atmosphere, we ordered Greene King Brewery pale ale, served in pristine condition, we luckily managed to get a table and settled back to enjoy a quality pale ale. Pale ale served in here was exceptionally good ,such a refreshing ale that on a hot afternoon was just so refreshing, does it get better ,a lovely pub,a great real ale and out and about with my twinny Stephen. We really enjoyed our pale ale's in here, we only stayed for the one each as we planned to visit other pubs close by but for a first time visit to The Shakey Pub we were both impressed with this pub and its staff. The Shakey Pub is easy to locate along Bradfield Road. Opening hours are; Monday to Thursday, 11am till 11pm. Friday & Saturday, 11am till 1am. Sunday, 11am till 11pm. A wonderful Greene King pub,most definitely well worth seeking out if you're in Hillsborough.

Good for Wednesday... Bad for blades

The Shakey on Bradfield road is a very good pub in the Hillsborough area of Sheffield that offers a decent range of beers and was one of many pubs we went to on a three day break to Sheffield. This is a great pub with friendly staff and friendly patrons who were enjoying a few pints while they were watching the Horse racing. A very well kept pub with a nice interior that had the appearance of being recently decorated or just really well looked after.There are some great seating options throughout the pubs interior and as mentioned above a decent beer range.I think this pub maybe a Greene King pub as the beers I had were Greene King brewery Pale ales a really good cask ale well served and priced. This is a really good pub in an excellent area of Sheffield and is easy to locate from Hillsborough tram stop its a few minutes walk. (This is my first review of the Shakey). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-11.00-23.00 Friday-Saturday-11.00-01.00. Sunday-11.00-23.00. Nearest Tram Stop. Hillsborough tram stop.

Very good entertainment from a guy with a guitar doing Paul Weller and The Jam songs. Very busy due to festival nearby but still pretty easy to get served at the bar.

Staff were constantly cleaning and sanitising all areas of the bar and pub area. Ordering drinks was simple and quick, friendly and polite staff. Definitely recommend

It was a good place to watch sport, with lots of screens. Personally I found the beer choice a bit limited, I tend to prefer to drink beers from local breweries, but if you don't mind about that, I think you'd like it.
