Seriously impressed - great atmosphere and friendly service accompanied by tasty food at a reasonable price - I'd recommend the Pho or Banh Mi!

Food was excellent, perhaps a bit pricey but worth it in the end.

I wanted to give this place 5 stars but I'm getting fed up with restaurants adding "discretionary" tips and service charges onto the bill without asking. It's a tactic to guilt trip you into feeling bad about asking to remove it, especially in groups, and sours an otherwise pleasant dinner. It's the businesses responsibility to pay their staff, not mine. Put the price it costs on the menu and that's what you charge me. If I want to tip, I can. But do not automatically add on charges and rely on psychological tactics to extort more money out of your customers. Let me know if you change this policy and I'll come back, until then I'm done.

I’ve come here many times and it is always sublime. The phó, bún and bánh mì are all amazing, but I think the bún noodle salad has been my favourite, great for a hot day. The tofu bánh mì was huge, delicious and filling with lovely crusty bread and a variety of fresh, flavoursome fillings. The Vietnamese filter iced coffee with condensed milk is my favourite. Really nice service especially as it always seems busy. Amazing atmosphere with lots of hanging lanterns and floor seating in one half of the restaurant. Some really great vegan/veggie options for every dish.

Lovely ‘fun’ decor - very different and great food and unusual teas etc to chose from . Very friendly and accommodating staff too, can’t wait to come back !

Fantastic restaurant, the best along the Fulwood road strip. Small but focused menu, great cocktails and lovely decor. Best Pho I've ever had I think.

Finally came in to have lunch with a friend (who had been many times before). It's been on my list of places to go and eat, but never got round to actually going. The food was delish! I had the lemon grass chicken rice bowl and an iced Vietnamese coffee. My friend had the Prawn Summer Rolls which looked divine. Going to try the pho next time i'm there. Also bonus is that most is gluten free or can be made GF!

My expectations may have been too high due to how good it looks inside. The food was perfectly fine, not very authentic as other reviews have also said. I’d also recommend not getting the spring roll alongside the rice bowls for £2 as it was nothing special. The rice bowl is nice. Menu overall is a tad overpriced. Also wished there were more seats. The decorations hanging are a bit too low, the amount of people that banged into them was crazy. The young girl serving us was so sweet and very attentive, no complaints about service when I visited. May visit again.

Amazing venue and decor serving great Vietnamese food and coffee. Fantastic service as well. We can’t wait to go back to try their other dishes. Highly recommended, a must try!

Summer spring rolls, 2 per portion provided. They were nice but way too large to eat easily, a diameter of a large cucumber. Should provide x 4 smaller size with bean shoots & nuts, but they were still nice.

The food was absolutely amazing! Plenty of gluten free options. Super tasty pork with authentic flavours and fresh ingredients. One downside was that they didn't have one of the starters available (the only gluten free one which I really wanted to try - summer rolls). Seeing as we had booked our table for 5.15pm we were one of the first groups of diners so I was surprised they were out of a dish so early on in the evening. But based on the food we did have, I'll definitely be back. Lovely atmosphere, some of the staff weren't overly enthusiastic about being there but otherwise we had a great meal.

Changing my 5 star review from 2 years ago (so a loyal customer) to 1 star as they advertised that they were serving food until 9pm (as it says if you look them up!) but having arrived at 8:27 was told that that the kitchen shut at 8:30 and would not serve us. Very disappointed and reflected in my changed review. Please, if you are looking to go to them between 8 and their alleged cut off food time at 9, proceed with caution! Objectively the food is good (I assume, I wasn't served any) but incredibly disappointed by the false advertisement and service over the years from my original review two years ago

Had the misfortune of visiting today. The server clearly didn't want to be there. I couldn't believe how miserable she was. Mushroom banh mi was completely lacking in flavour and needed twice the filling. Pricing was extortionate. Having eaten at nam song previously, this was incredibly disappointing and will not be returning.

Nice food , lovely atmosphere, it took some time to get our order in as it was quite busy and understaffed, but other than that can’t fault it !

Good not great. Not very flavourful to be honest, the food is definitely more than a little whitewashed. And the price… for what you’re getting the prices are pretty criminal. Coffee was good. Staff was okay. Atmosphere was good

The food was excellent but the service was very poor. Staff were not particularly helpful and we had to wait a long time to order and whilst waiting for our food they did not check in to see if we wanted any more drinks. Considering how expensive it is I would expect much better service.

Excellent choice of food for vegans. We all ordered a different dish,and all were very tasty and cooked really well . Not long to wait for food after ordering.

The noodles here are excellent. It's a little pricier but the decor makes for a unique atmosphere.

Great vibe but the place was dirty. Food was not great, its not Vietnamese food, its something else.

Cushion seated, awesome experience but can get uncomfortable after a while, that’s just down to each guest though. Food was AMAZING, absolutely faultless. Menu relatively small but each dish is perfect, would recommend summer rolls! We were served by Melissa, she’s an absolute credit to the restaurant! Incredibly kind and helpful, smiley and chatty. She made the experience even better, we felt so welcomed and valued. (Sorry for dropping the lime halfway across the room). I’ve been before and of course will come again many times. Thinking of bringing my family - we’ve got a few dietary needs but are totally confident to visit! Awesome story behind the restaurant, well deserving of 5 stars (plus an extra for Melissa) ❤️ thank you Nam Song!

Visiting Sheffield we were recommended this place and that was definitely a great recommendation, great quality food. The only thing I would suggest is to put the music a bit down as we were hardly able to hear each other talking.

Really lovely food and atmosphere. Not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

I tried their lunch menu and had the lemongrass chicken rice bowl! It’s fantastic. So yummy and such a filling bowl for the price point. They also offer a discount if you have a MedSoc membership which is a bonus. Place is so vibrant and lovely- music is nice too. Way more accessible on foot/bus.

Tough review but there were so many things wrong. Came in at 2pm on a Saturday Lunch for a small bite to eat. I understand this is a causal eatery, but for 15 pound for lunch, and not a busy restaurant at the time feel the right to be harsh. Food was decent, rice was cooked perfectly. Chicken however was over cooked and very dry, was it not smothered in sauce and marinade this would be very poor. Rest of the food was nice however hard to mess up a plate of garnish and small salad items. Ice cream was thawed and could taste ice as if it was left out uncovered and had ice over the top, was not smooth and had bad texture. Service was very poor and I don’t think we were respected at all, lady with dark hair and red hair bun was very nice and no complaints. Could not say the same for the other server, very rude always felt she had a problem with our table. No manners and a very solemn tone, poor attitude. There was no check back with any food so could not mention issues, plates weren’t collected long after desert order. And empty coffee cups pre food were left the entire seating. Coffee cups and spoons weren’t properly clean either. Venue is lovely great design, music choice not my cup of tea, but very standard. The place it’s self is more or less flawless. Ps. Dark N’ Stormy is a trademarked cocktail and should use Goslings rum if you use the name.

Awful awful first experience here. We came in & asked for a table, the larger blonde waitress said they only have places on the floor.I was surprised, it was the first time here and so I hadn’t realised it was a thing. Her face when I said “seriously”? told a story. As we sat down, I looked over for which she was pulling faces telling her colleague about it, and obviously having a moan, which was super unprofessional. It was uncomfortable on the floor, especially with so many tables free so we stood up and requested if we could sit at a table. The one shining light in the whole experience was the nice tall gentleman said this was no problem and happily sat us down. A few tables sat down after us, but of course, their orders were taken before ours, in fact it took 25 minutes for them even to take a drinks order - we ordered drinks & food, a further 15 minutes past and the two tables beside us both were on their second drinks and well into their food before we even had drinks! The larger blonde lady was busy talking to the nice server, and obviously too busy to be attentive to customers. I think me being surprised at the floor seating had obviously gotten a bee in her bonnet. We got up and left & thankfully found the taste of Thailand across the road, which has impeccable service. Terrible service from the larger lady, tall gent was fine but really, if I was the owner I would be getting more of a grip on this. Service is key and in the restaurant game, I’m surprised people are stupid enough to take these liberties. Visited Friday 19:00 left 19:50.

Service - Staff are great and friendly, no complaints. Atmosphere - Gentrification nation Food - To call this Vietnamese food is quite sad. The pho broth tastes like sodium rich instant paste, over cooked noodles and what looks like rotisserie chicken on top. Bizarre. Confusing pan-Asian additions like Japanese dumplings? What? If you want Vietnamese food please give your money to a legitimate Asian business. Not some white guys that went to Vietnam and wanted to open a trend chasing chain business. Please steer clear.

Disappointing food, such a shame really as the atmosphere is nice and unique The pho is overly salty, the spring rolls doesnt feel Vietnamese at all. £18 for a bowl of disappointment that has packet pho that is still hard when we received the order. The fried chicken salty The only best one was the caramelised pork which was the only one we liked

Went for lunch with a friend and loved the relaxed atmosphere and great tasting food. I would recommend booking because it was very popular when I went and the Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk was the absolute highlight

One of my favourite places to eat in Sheffield. Always excellent service and exceptional food; fresh, flavourful, fast service - and staff will always recommend and tell you about the all the dishes. Vietnamese phin filter coffee is superb!

A brilliant cafe right in the centre of a student neighborhood, really friendly staff and amazing coffee

Lovely place with great food! Huge portion size so great value for money! The service was fantastic, the waiter recommended which pho to get and was super helpful! Really liked the memorabilia and the cards explaining the charity that’s associated with the restaurant.

Pho is not authentic here and nothing like when you are in Vietnam (I ate pho nearly every day in different places when I travelled there). Needs to be bones cooked for hours and minimal powder sachets and this is what makes it so healthy. For what it is it's also very pricey whereas other Vietnamese places (I tried an authentic one down at the Moor Market) charge more reasonable and seem to simply have the real deal without all the marketing/trendy stuff. It's a shame as I love Pho (as I imagine these owners did when they travelled out there and decided to set business in the UK) but unfortunately they are not doing justice and seem to be going for the money now.

Had the pho, however I found the broth to be too watery and lacking in flavor. Was quite pricey for a soup bowl. Partner had the bahnmi baguette and this was excellent, full of meat and with fresh lemongrass and coriander garnish

Had a delivery from here tonight after only having eaten in before . It was fabulous. Pho in a big tub plus the chilli and mint , broth in another tub and some chicken bites and crackers . Really fresh and lovely , would recommend.

My favourite chilled spot in Sheff - so nice to relax and sit on the floor. Such a cosy and relaxing vibe I could stay here for hours, beautiful rich colours and eastern decor. Lovely very friendly and helpful staff. Also love the no shoes vibe in the floor seating area. If you’re looking for a vibey place to relax and enjoy the present moment this is the spot. First time at Nam Song ,and we really enjoyed the food. There are some great,and very tasty vegan options. Service was excellent,and I had the most delicious coffee!!! Explained to me perfectly by the lovely young lady that served us. We will definitely be back , I'm craving Pandan coffee,it's the green one 💚

First time coming here, such an amazing experience, served by Karina who made us feel really welcomed. Recommended the chicken bites for starter and lemon grass chicken for mains. Would definitely come back again and recommend to my friends.

Start with a positive. The staff are super friendly and are genuinely a pleasure. Sadly that's where the positives end. Onto the negatives. The food was not good. It was bland, the pho tasted as if it came from the dishwasher, had absolutely no taste and was definitely not worth £16. The toilets were dirty along with everything else. It appears that although they wipe the tables with a cloth and spray bottle that may be all that is done. The condiments were absolutely filthy, closing to expiry and even had several sun bleached markers on the bottles. For the prices this place charges and the quality AVOID. It is awful. Will not be returning even if it was free.

Found by accident looking for a coffee shop. Smells were fabulous so ended up having lunch instead which was delicious!!!

Excellent food (we had banh mi) and lovely peach tea. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely! The cafe is also partnered with a charity so it's good to know some of the money you spend is going to a good cause.

Not an original Vietnamese restaurant I think the taste is all different. The Vietnamese noodles had a lot of sweet chili flavor. There is no sweet chili food in Vietnam. I enjoyed the summer rolls. There was a 10% service charge, so it ended up costing more than I expected. Personally, I found the seats very uncomfortable. Especially the floor carpet was very dirty.

pretentious way they self market themselves. Love Vietnam, and love it’s people? Maybe you should get some of these lovely people to teach you how to cook?! Or maybe the community there just don’t like these fakes! Terrible food, not a Vietnamese person in sight - pretentious

Never had this type of food before but I'm definitely going back again, we only went in for a light lunch but came out absolutely stuffed, the food was tasry and really filling, and even though we paid more for a lunch than we normally would it was worth every penny..

I had a vegetable curry that was £16. It was good but for the price I feel like I could have got more tofu and vegetables. It was mainly curry and rice. There were only about 6 pieces of tofu.

Absolutely great food, and the service was wonderful. Very busy but they could fit us in and where dog friendly. The summer roles were amazing, then the belly pork was to die for 😀😋

Popped over this afternoon and was absolutely amazed with the place from the pavement. Your greeted with a lovely bunch of staff and an insane smell coming from the kitchen!! The best food I've had for over 20+ years well done chef👌

Lovely Vietnamese restaurant. Good cakes and coffee.

I found the restaurant to be expensive for the average person for a meal, especially knowing they increased the prices at least 20% in the past few months. I have been there and it was appalling to see that the place doesn't accept cash payments just tips. there is a chance to lose a chunk of customers because of that policy me included.

This is a great place for brunch where they serve meals with Vietnamese influence. The food here is good; Veggie Sizzler Plate stood out as the best dish we had.

Wow! The food was perfection *chefs kiss* A Beautifully decorated space with a real fun Vietnamese street vibe where you can sit at tables or on the floor with cushions in a cosy space. Nice soft music. Dog friendly. Fantastic vegan options. V Reasonably priced. The waitress was super friendly, helpful and a real sweetheart. Go go go!

The service was amazing, the food was sooo good and with great portions/sizes, the price was very reasonable. I had a very good time with my friend, we both had egg coffee, the 2 course meal (baguette and spring rolls), they were absolutely delicious, will definitely come back!! Very very happy with Nam Song :))

I ordered a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, but only received a plain hot chocolate. I didn't make a fuss at the time, but when I came to pay I was initially charged the full price of what I originally ordered. I challenged the price, since I did not receive the extras, and was subsequently told that they'd added UHT milk to my drink (which I did not ask for) which costs extra anyway. Luckily I do not have any specific allergies, but would not recommend if you have strict dietary concerns.

A great location to meet with friends! The vibe and energy of the place when you walk in is happy and relaxing, with lanterns everywhere, and an option to sit in the cushioned seating area or table dining area, it can gets busy fairly quickly. I visited their Dyson place location a few times when it was there, but it was my first time at Broomhill Nam Song. We had the Năm Sông Pork Bánh Mì, Lemongrass Chicken Bánh Mì and my toddler had a small chicken one, that came with a side of crackers. A filling lunch! If you're a coffee lover try the Phin Filtered Coffee, i had mine with condensed milk. Some srrong stuff, keep you buzzing for the rest of the day. What a lovely place! Great food and ambience.

The food is great! However, I found the restaurant to be dirty. I have been here a few time before and not felt it to be a problem, but this time the menus were dirty from other diners food and grease! The drinks.menue had lumps of food on them! And the condiment bottles were grubby, some of them were empty too. I hope they realise this soon and discard the menus after a few uses.

It's a lovely coffee shop and cafe, with a percentage of the profits going to help disabled children in Vietnam. It's really unique and we can recommend the Vietnames coffee with condensed mik. The place has a really u usual vibe to it and definitely head and shoulders above the usual chain type coffee shops.

How can a simple baggette be so good

Vietnamese coffee ☕ and Bahn mi sandwiches. Not sure you could go wrong here. The spring rolls are good too. Attentive service and reasonable prices. It's a win for everyone.

Always a favourite. Food and drinks can be very expensive and the cost of a main and coffee soon adds up. For two of us, a main each, shared started and coffee each was around £40 but it'll depend what you have. The food is delicous and we love visiting.
